_I am someone who has chosen to do Natural Sciences at uni because I found the links that emerge my subjects compelling and as a result I felt that I didn’t want to specialise in just one field. I found Zero gravity by chance to be able to increase my chances of successfully getting into my first choice uni and obtain guidance from someone who’s already been through the process. My mentor has helped me become more familiar with how uni life would be like and i am feeling excited for the next stage. I have learnt about the different societies that universities offer, i have lessen my worries about making new friends and the experience of living alone doesn’t sound as bad now.

My name is John, and I’m in Year 13. When my physics teacher unexpectedly left, Oliver from Zero Gravity guided me through self-teaching and improved my understanding. Oliver also helped with my entrance exam preparation, personal statement, and engaged me in discussions on scientific topics and his PhD studies. Regular sessions with Oliver strengthened my academic skills and boosted my confidence. Inspired by our discussions, I began tutoring mathematics at school and for family friends. He recommended the book “Alex’s Adventures in Numberland,” which sparked my interest in number theory. Oliver then introduced me to cryptography, further igniting my passion. Now, I aspire to join organizations like GCHQ.

I learnt a lot through Zero Gravity: the community is a great place to find people in a similar position as myself and it’s also gratifying to chip in where I can. The current students there provide really useful advice and I’ve taken a lot away from it. My mentor helped a lot with my personal statement and general physics tricks as well as developing my thinking. Another thing I took away from the sessions was what I could potentially be doing while at university and what uni life is like. It was nice to hear a first hand experience from someone who was in a similar position to where I will be soon.

Zero Gravity has been invaluable to me as I’m a first generation family member trying to navigate university applications. I’ve really appreciated the options available and being able to get advice from people either in the same position (which has been assuring) or from those who actually know what’s going on. My mentor was also such a vital part of my journey, critiquing and helping construct my personal statement to actually make it Cambridge worthy! So grateful.

Computer science, more specifically augmented reality has been a passion of mine since I was young. Zero Gravity has allowed me to join a like minded community where reading the posts of others within a similar field has allowed me to elevate my own knowledge and curiosity. My mentor supported me through assisting during the development of my personal statement which received a positive response from all my choices getting me to the next stage of the application process.

The way that Zero Gravity enables post 16 students to build their way towards a successful university application is something that you can't find anywhere else for free. The ability to connect with and learn from someone who's been in your exact situation is incredibly useful, and Zero Gravity does an excellent job of setting you up with that opportunity. The website itself is well designed and easy to navigate, the people you speak to are helpful and attentive, and the opportunities available in addition to the mentoring are targeted and valuable. I strongly recommend using Zero Gravity if you're aiming highly, and wish to better your chances of reaching your goals.

During year 12 I wanted a platform that allowed me to enhance my skills where It will be useful for both my personal statement and Uni life. So, I came across zero gravity online and I wanted to try it out. Sincerely, Zero Gravity has been the most helpful resource for me in terms of both expertise and assistance during the UCAS process. With the help of my mentors for my personal statement, I was able to receive offers from every university. In addition, I learnt more about my university degree by conducting online extracurricular studies and reporting back to my mentor.

I moved to the UK from Italy in 2020 and initially struggled to integrate into the British school system, especially understanding the university application process. Through Zero Gravity, I was paired with Ambareen, who provided invaluable guidance during my A levels. She gave me strategic advice on exam preparation and played a crucial role in finalizing my personal statement. Her support was instrumental in overcoming the challenges I faced, helping me navigate the new educational landscape and achieve my academic goals.

As an aspiring chemistry student, having support through a program like Zero Gravity has made a significant difference. The guidance from my mentor has been invaluable, especially as I'm the first generation in my family to attend university. My mentor assisted me in crafting a compelling personal statement so that I can highlight my passion for chemistry, and he also ensured that my application showcased my strengths and potentials. My mentor also gave me mock interviews in preparation for my Oxford interviews. This was really valuable as I got an almost preview of how it's like to be in an interview situation and of course on the way I got the opportunity to explore new things and explore ideas beyond my curriculum. Furthermore, being part of the zero gravity community has given me numerous benefits. Seeing the dedication and achievements of my peers was incredibly inspiring, encouraging me to strive for excellence in my own academic journey.

My experience with Zero gravity has been great. My mentor has helped me in so many ways such as completing my personal statement, application with solicitor apprenticeships and also my LNAT exams. I was struggling to know what universities and companies look for and my mentor helped me with that with personal advice and looking through each one of my answers I am internally grateful for her.

The first thing the company did well was giving me a tutor that has the same degree as me! It definitely helped in understanding application processes even more. Secondly the schedule was very flexible therefore I did not feel any pressure to squeeze in meeting. Overall the experience was amazing and I would do it again if I had to!

I always had aspirations of going to the University of Oxford to study History. My mentor attends Oxford and she was integral in easing me through the process and helping me understand set expectations for what life at university would be like. With the passing of my dad this year, the university application and A level process was extremely overwhelming, but my mentor, and Zero Gravity by extension, really helped me through it with advice and support. Although I didn’t get accepted to Oxford, I will take her advice with me throughout life.

Having a mentor has allowed me to further my knowledge in the field of psychology, allowing me to have a more out of the box approach when dealing with scenarios and previous research. Zero Gravity as a whole has allowed me to be in contact with other students like myself, and hearing their journeys has given me insight on the highs and lows of university. By providing step by step instructions when dealing with UCAS, as well as having a mentor guide me. I was able to reduce the stress involved and focus more time and energy on my studies, finishing the process a lot faster than my peers.

Hi! My name is Shanza and I am a student who has currently finished a-levels and is looking to study Economics at university later this September. I started using Zero Gravity in year 12 to find out about super-curriculars that I could use to support my university applications. I started my mentoring journey in year 13 (as my originally assigned mentor in year 12 chose not to continue). My mentor has been pivotal in my university application journey since I met her. She helped me submit an early application to Oxbridge, in which I ended up receiving an interview. I was supported every week with interview prep, revision timetables, organisation etc and she was always here to help every step of the way. Although it took some time to be matched with a mentor, Zero Gravity really matched me with the most perfect mentor. The experience has been amazing, and there's so many opportunities to take advantage of. I truly wish I made use of this platform at the start of year 12. Keep doing what you guys at Zero Gravity are doing!

My Zero Gravity mentor has helped me by encouraging me to think about things such as a city vs campus uni, which may be not be as commonly thought about compared to other details such as university reputation, but is something I'd have never thought about early on, and made my journey just that bit easier. Zero Gravity has helped me by providing a supportive community with people from many different backgrounds, so you never feel alone throughout school or university applications.

Zero Gravity was a vital platform during my university application, as each goal assisted me through the process and masterclasses gave me a greater insight into different universities, and what it was like for people who go there. My mentor was incredibly supportive as we repeatedly rewrote my personal statement to ensure it was perfect. She also recommended lots of books and websites that would be beneficial to include in my personal statement, and many tips to improve my LNAT score.

Applying to medicine has been more than an arduous journey. Yet from challenge to challenge I found myself overcoming each stage of the application. For me, zero gravity was invaluable, as I was granted the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and see in real time how others were embarking on this journey too. My mentor, not only equipped me with tips for academic growth and application success, but spoke words of encouragement during times of uncertainty. This fortified my confidence and motivation to keep going. Beyond my academics, I believe reading about the experiences of other zero gravity scholars, reminded me of the reality of the non-linear journey of the medic- as an ever-learning student of life (a concept which re-ignited my passion for the career). Therefore, I deeply appreciate the platform as it has contributed to my overall development, arming me with tools to truly defy the odds.

The new update on the community is absolutely fantastic. There are now more spaces available to students which makes asking questions and finding others in similar positions to you much easier, as well as keeping all of the posts in your feed relevant. The fact that the update includes professionals is fantastic, as it provides yet another way for people to advance their applications and gain insights into the degrees and industries they are interested in. I've faced a range of hardships from living in a low participation area, attending low graded state schools, as well as suffering from a chronic illness, but zero gravity has helped me to break down those barriers and access a wide range of opportunities and support. From creating a personal statement programme and matching me with an amazing university mentor to sharing access programmes and university scholarship opportunities for students, the platform has been so helpful and accessible. I’m grateful for the opportunities ZG has provided – If I ever struggle with anything I know I'm one community message or masterclass away from great support, and the team are always available to answer any queries I have. Couldn't ask for better :)
