I purchased a Butchers Block from Captain's Craftworks in December 2021 knowing full well there would be a wait because it's Christmas and every item is hand-made. The Block was delivered today by Adam who is a lovely chap and the quality of craftsmanship is simply stunning. FIVE STARS! Absolutely worth the wait and I have no doubt that I will own this for the rest of my life.

Just getting round to review now as island has been on the garage waiting for space in the kitchen- managed to bring it in today. Delighted with the island - beautifully made - a stunning piece. Delivery took a little longer as we are quite remote. Worth the wait.

The company does not keep its promises. About 2 months ago I have ordered a butcher block with a very nice bespoke design. We liaised with Adam to come up with the perfect design and colour, I have sent out colour samples as everything and we were very excited with it looked exactly how we wanted it. When the promised delivery time was approaching my nightmares started. First took me 2-3 weeks to speak with someone as there was nobody picking the phone up nor answering emails and phone messages. When I finally got to speak with Adam he said his wife was in hospital (which looking through past reviews apparently it was an excuse used with other unhappy clients) and when I asked for an update on my island he said he would get back to me in 5 min. Took him a week with several phone calls. The new promise was it would be dispatched by the end of that week. After another week I have chased him again as nothing had happened. I was told he had a problem with the courier as apparently he sent the wrong address. After that it all went downhill, lots of chasing, lies and more blames on the courier which at this point it was clear the problem wasn’t anything to do with delivery. I even got some fake tracking codes to try to keep me calm and when I confronted him due to the lack of any professionalism I was told something along the lines of “if you want a big call centre structure to answer you go to IKEA”. Ended up very frustrated, and requested my money back through PayPal which thankfully I’ve got. Please don’t waste you time on this company.

Ordered a butchers block island last month for our kitchen. Adam has been great throughout answering my emails when I had trouble with delivery links and arrival on the day. WOW what a gorgeous product! Looks gorgeous!. It came with oil and instructions. Thank you very much I love it! Will be back. Your craftmanship is amazing!

One star as unable to give zero. No goods received despite having £660 of my money since 4th October. You phone and phone and most of the time nobody answers. When he does he seems disorganised. You leave a message and he doesn't call back. He has lied to me on several occasions saying my block will be 'on the van' on Friday and with me next week. The latest promise last week was that if it didn't go on the van he would drive it in his own van to the courier's distribution hub so they had it for Monday and could schedule delivery. I was surprised then to receive an email from the courier saying they were scheduled to pick it up TODAY - a week later! Then, when I checked the tracking the collection from the seller had 'failed'. I've had to raise this with Paypal and now will have to try and find a replacement product clearly no chance of having this in time for a Christmas gift for my hubby as I'd planned. Offering a service you can't deliver. Lying to cover business inadequacy. Lack of any understanding of the impact of your taking money from people who thought they were doing the right thing by supporting a small British business. All of these sad, really, really sad. Shame on you.

The first thing to say is that the two Corsair blocks are superb - they are beautifully made, and even better than I anticipated. They are bespoke items, and it was good to be able to talk to Adam about my requirements, and hear his very useful suggestions. This would have been a five star review, but unfortunately Adam was ill for two periods when I was querying when the blocks would be delivered. No-one can help being ill, but during these periods there was no response to my emails and my phone calls went unanswered, because Adam was the only person who deals with these things. The blocks failed to arrive on two occasions when I was expecting them, and then there was silence - I was almost pulling my hair out. Adam does now use a delivery firm (and very good it was too), rather than delivering items himself, and that is a step forward. I would suggest that he employs someone, even for a couple of hours a week, to answer phone and email messages. Would I buy from Captain's Craftworks again? Yes...but not if I was in a hurry.

Absolutely thrilled with my Port Issac butchers trolley arrived today. The craftsmanship is superb would have no hesitation in recommending their products.

I purchased a butchers block - so good that you can order size and colour of your choice. Everything about it is first class. Great clear instructions in how to look after your bench, oil and cloth supplied along with some top up paint. Adam gives first class service and was apologetic for having to wait a little longer than anticipated for delivery, he’s so busy cause the products are so good. !! Highly recommend

I purchased a butchers block online. The website was user friendly and any questions were answered with a quick phone call. The delivery was not drop off and go. The owner of the company delivered it himself. He pointed out that the colour i ordered did not match my new kitchen units. However he gave me good advice how to remedy and it has worked. The block is hand made to a high specification and i am extremely pleased. I will recommend this company to all my family and friends.

I ordered a bespoke butchers trolley with an oak top. It is beautifully made and just what I wanted. Also Adam couldn’t have been more helpful about the delivery ‘ which was free and no self assembly!!!!! The oiling instructions were clear and easy to follow. It was exceptionally good value.

Ordered a mantel shelf to go above my cooker in the kitchen. Easy online order process, good price and reasonable delivery time. Item arrived well packaged and was easy enough to fit. Very happy with the overall service and would recommend.

Super fast delivery. Very impressed with the craftsmanship and the finish on these. Sturdy side tables and the wood is gorgeous! We ordered 2 side tables for our living room and they were great value for money. Decent size too!
