I have not used Pepper Money before but they sourced well for a recent case of mine and the criteria is very generous and forgiving which was important in this case. The whole process was positive and especially our Underwriter Alex, who would call me to update was absolutely fantastic, I have never received such a positive experience as a Broker from a Lender, I would strongly recommend them to anyone else who has a case that requires a more generous and forgiving lender.

An appalling experience: not recommended if self-employed. We were approved for a loan in early June 2024, but endured (and complied with) request after request from the lender for more and more supporting evidence about income, which continued throughout the application process. They took so long to consider each document that by the time they had, they then demanded another, more current, document. It took more than three months to arrange a loan for 14% of the total value of the property, severely impacting the health of myself and my partner in the process. This included sending through a message via solicitors on the day that the loan was due to be paid, stating that the: "Pepper Money Offer has been voided for the following reason: Pepper's instruction." Unfortunately, the protracted arrangement time meant that we were unable to look for a better lender during the process and were effectively locked in to borrowing from them. A truly unpleasant experience that we are only just managing to recover from.

The process was stress free and I felt a lot of common sense was used during the underwriting process.

Extremely difficult case to place, Pepper Money took on the challenge and from Day 1, the BDM, Servicing Team & Underwriter provided excellent service with a common sense to underwriting, I was kept well informed, timeframes were quick and I would recommend this lender time and time again.

The most appalling company, incompetent. Could not confirm receipt of funds on at least 3 occasions. Every time I called, there would be promises things would get sorted and they didn't. No proactive approach helped. Compliant didn't work. Final redemption was not confirmed for 10 days. I had to scream at them to demand that they lift a second lien while I was on the line. Do not use. There are plenty of others. There is nothing about these guys that make it worthwhile. Rates are high and service is below any standard I have experienced in the past 30 years of working in and with financial services (even though the people on the phone are nice - but what use when no effect). A company that cannot calculate monthly payments after extra payments. Took over 2 months and nothing. Amazing.
