Great service from start to finish, never have I seen a company that goes above and beyond what they say they'll do. Even during lockdown when the buyer's solicitors wouldn't answer the phone, Mcewan Fraser never missed a beat.I'm so glad I chose them to sell my flat.

Very happy with the service we received from McEwan Fraser Legal. Couldn't be any happier with the price we got for our property. We were on with another estate agent for nine months then we sold within two weeks with McEwan Fraser Legal. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Very poor company. I could do a long list but for the reader’s benefit will keep it short: unprofessional, evasive and some might allege, staff members who are pushing the boundaries of truth. What the seller gets from this poor quality of service is a mystery. PS- the fact that MFL have replied below to a message is a first!

We put in an offer which was accepted by the seller who requested a fast turn around due to the transaction being cash. We never heard again from McEwan Frazer Legal ! After trying on numerous occasions to get hold of this lot they simply refused to respond in kind, I will warn others to be very careful of these agents and solicitors ! They even have the audacity of claiming they were voted the best agency in 2019, LOL. Some people should be ashamed of themselves as buying a house can be quite stressful, this agency just adds to it. ONE STAR IS WAY TOO MANY !

I made an offer on a flat being sold by the Edinburgh team, it was accepted and now cant get any of them to respond to me or my lawyers, they are a total joke and obviously don't care or they would have the courtesy to reply to the comments both good and bad, no stars would have been more appropriate.

I sold my property in Dalkeith and couldn't be happier. I got well over home report value and my negotiator advised me not to take the first offer as that's not what I was paying for. All in all Great value for money even though the company is a little more expensive.

I am not able to give zero stars but I would. Very poor service and value for money. We had to contact them regularly for updates as they did not contact us. At least 3 major mistakes (one of them costing us financially) which we had to fix ourselves. At no point was an apology forthcoming and final communications from a partner (at our request) displayed a complete lack of any consideration of providing good customer service and no acknowledgement that their service or the employee we dealt with needed to improve. Not a pleasant experience at all and would not recommend. House buying is stressful enough!

V few viewings. Advised to constantly drop price. Lovely property. Didn't sell. 5 years later a bill for 1.500 They are trigger happy sending threatening emails to pay. Of course I paid but what horrible service and awful to deal with. Avoid!

I would avoid at all costs. They charge very high commission and I was quoted a price including VAT then at the end they applied VAT and the salesman denied all knowledge saying I didn’t have a witness he agreed price. The minute you are signed up you get moved over to the conveyancing team and you can’t get hold of anyone to give you an update. Myself and my purchaser’s solicitor had to keep chasing them and I didn’t know that my purchaser had signed and myself and my purchasers ended up only knowing our moving date a couple of weeks before which was unnecessarily stressful. When I complained and tried to take it further and get the difference back to what I was quoted and what I paid which amounted to extortionate costs around £8000, I had threatening letters from their legal team and emails calling me vexatious and malicious because I tried to get a resolution. I even had the salesman admit it and then he later denied all knowledge and when I asked for a copy of the phone calls I was told mobile calls to their salesman aren’t recorded. The commission costs ended up swallowing most of my equity even though I was guaranteed a capped price but was told I needed witnesses. I said it was a verbal contract because I stupidly trusted the salesman. My children and I ended up having nowhere to live because was so last minute because of their lack of information and they didn’t care and when I complained I was warned off.

The Sale of the Property... considering this was done over the Xmas Holiday Period it was completed quickly, with no delays as Damons professional advise and knowledge eliminated all the stress and from start to finish the New Owners moved into the Property in Jan 2020 Would Definitely Recommend this Company To Family & Friends....

Awful. My Fiancée waited 5 days for a home report and a week for a call back to arrange a viewing. She was then told she can view on Sunday (the only day she couldn’t do as she was on holiday).. the arrogant employee then proceeded to tell her that it’ll go to a closing anyway, therefore if she can’t view then there’s no point in trying to view on a later date. Awful company. Poor customer service. Arrogant staff. Will never buy a property from these cowboys.

My experience with McEwan Fraser Legal was terrible from beginning to end. I was completely conned by their agent who signed me up. She wasn’t at all transparent about their fees, and how much I would actually have to pay when I sold. They did nothing to help aid my sale, I sold the property on Gumtree, most of my viewings came from Gumtree and Facebook adverts that I posted myself – only one was arranged through MFL. I caught their staff on more than one lie, and actually ended up talking to the buyer’s solicitor for advice because I had zero trust left in this firm. I paid extra for the part-exchange option – it’s a total waste of money! Don’t do it – in fact just don’t use this firm. Their communication throughout my sale was awful – with several unanswered emails that they “didn’t receive”. Does anyone believe that in 2019!? Use Purple Bricks or the agent who will charge you the least – MFL definitely don’t work hard or provide good service for their outrageous fees. As soon as they sign you up, you’re on your own.

After almost one year of marketing by McEwan Fraser Legal, had a great offer which I accepted, even though the administrator repeatedly advised of an incorrect amount, £10,000 above actual offer. Several days later, buyers withdrew offer, with administrator advising they had offered on another property but still preferred mine. Odd, to say the least, and according to agent, no further communication ever received from these buyers. After almost a further nine months, a handful of viewings including more than one cancellation with only an hour or so’s notice, disrespectful offers of £15,000 below the Home Report value, and weeks if not months on end with no contact from agent, finally withdrew from their services in June 2019, at great expense, but without even a message to offer their good wishes for the future. Perhaps a 2-bedroom tenement flat in a very heavily deprived area of Fife was not at the top of their list for achieving a sale.

I just cannot understand why this firm have supposedly won awards. I chose them on that basis. From start to finish, the way they handled the purchase of our property was appalling. From the initial negotiation to the handling of the purchase, the two members of staff we dealt with were dreadful. Disinterested, uninformed, completely passive and borderline rude. They didn't return calls, keep us informed of progress or advise us on the purchase price as they should have done. We were constantly chasing, chasing all the time, even though the transaction was as straightforward as it could possibly have been. As cash buyers with no chain, the Missives should have been concluded quickly, but they were only concluded a week before the move! We got tired of constantly chasing progress. There was nothing done above and beyond the absolute necessities, and these were very slow. The Solicitor went on holiday for three weeks in the middle of the process without informing us or telling us who would be taking over. Their assistant had not been briefed. We were not given the contact details for the assistant. When we picked up the keys, the Solicitor did not even bother to speak to us or meet us, and we were sent no statement with the final figures at all. The impression we got is that they are happy to take your money but just don't care...at all. There was absolutely no attempt to establish a relationship or any sort of rapport. It would have been professional to send a summary of the account and a brief 'thank you for your business'. Even that was too much of an effort. We will never use this firm again.
