In November of last year we changed supplier from EDF to a company we thought was called Fischer Energy, we set up a direct debit which worked after a fashion until June of this year when after a company review of our account they intimated that we were over a £1000 in arrears. As we have never exceeded £800 in a total year, we felt this must be a mistake. Having never being able to access our account, we raised the matter with Fischer by telephone on several occasions. Despite the seeming helpfulness by the call service, we have so far been unable to resolve the matter. Having been told to stop the direct debit we are now concerned that no further billing has been received and we are unable to sort out our payment obligations. We have asked for help from Citizens Advice and so far without progressing the matter further. Where do we go from here???

United Kingdom | 18 September 2019If you can ride out the stormy management they are keenly priced and renewable. There were huge errors of management judgement in the last 12 months, trying to change 'everyones' payment terms with, in my case, a disguised 25% price hike on little notice... "In light of this, we are providing 10 working days notice of our intention to introduce a new variable Direct Debit scheme". Yeah, for me, from £85 to £199 for the winter months (£114 in summer). They rolled back the changes, but only when forced to do so. During the whole saga they were obstructive, unresponsive and afterward unapologetic. However, for an electric car driver that charges overnight on economy 7 they cannot be matched for price and sustainability.

Readings submitted online at beginning of second month and first bill is straightforward, unit prices same as those originally quoted. Long may it continue.

United Kingdom | 17 September 2019Easy to switch, saving around £240 a year. Not a lot of correspondence to encourage submitting regular metre readings but this is easy to do. Website has improved dramatically since I switched. Also what I was expecting to pay over the winter is due to be less than I was expecting and is likely to save me an additional £100.
