The door would not lock from the outside. Three single ladies had to take turns climbing in the passenger seat to go inside and open the door for us to get inside. Ridiculous and down right unsafe!!!!!!!!!

Our experience was great! It was an easy pick-up and return of the camper. Staff were very helpful. The camper itself was roomy and clean. We would definitely rent again.

Refrigerator wouldn’t stay cold lost food broke down in the desert of Utah, and was unable to find a service person had to do that on my own, and Cruise America would not except the hand written receipt that they gave us and customer service was nonexistent

I couldn’t get a smaller RV in my area. I didn’t need a standard size, just a compact size, but there are none available in my area. Staff was very helpful, but the add-on fees added up too much for me to be able to afford it. I only needed it Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, but would have ended up having to pay an extra night because the facility is closed on Sunday. That’s not fair.

As first time renters we were excited to try the rental RV experience, but we were left underwhelmed. Roaches started coming out of the walls before we even got to our stop. Not just 1 or 2 either, they were crawling across my neck while I tried to sleep. I'm not sure what year we got, but it was a clunker. It hopped all over the road and the floor got really hot if we went over 45mph. The fridge was barely even cooling the food whether we used the propane or the shore line at the Campground hookup. I added the 2nd star because it made the whole trip of like 330 miles total.. The check engine light came on like 4 miles from turn in. When I returned the RV the nice and very helpful attendant mentioned that "This one is about ready to retire" as they inspected it for turn in. All I could think to say was "A bit past ready if you ask me".

Rented a 30' RV. It was gross. Lots of smudges and dirt. The toilet was twisted and you could see that the water wasn't fully going into the black tank. The black water light showed 2/3 full even when empty. The toilet sits on a pedestal and is nearly impossible to sit on and doubly impossible to wipe. Flush and you are guaranteed to get wet. The fridge didn't even have a panel over the insulation on the outside. You are told you will have to pay $75 if you don't dump and leave off the cap and leave the dirty water valves open at the end of the trip. You cannot open them on their property and it's clearly illegal to drive this way. Ridiculous and disgusting.

Your company left us stranded in the Utah desert for nine hours, and then finally told us you could not find a repair service and that we may have to wait for Monday. And this was on a Saturday morning early when we reached out and actually found someone to come repair the tires on the RV, they were a a mobile service who only gave us a hand written receipt. Your company refused to pay it back and when we called your customer service they straight up lied and said that they tried to call us back multiple times and that there was nothing they could do I know when we could talk to. Amongst the reviews after this incident, it seems to happen a lot with your people and it absolutely looks like you care nothing about your customers only your bottom line. Just know we will never ever use you and tell everyone we know not to use you as well. Now let’s see if somebody reaches out .

If I could give less then 1 start I would. First they did not do a walk thru on our RV but the one that was on display in the garage. Second the frig stopped working the first day lost all my food inside it. Third we were given an RV with dead tags got pulled over in Kansas. Fourth the generator would not work. Then went to plug in and smoke started coming from the converter box. No AC no electric in thr middle of the desert. One of our 4 fur babies got heat stroke and all they did when we called the road side assistance number was give us the run around and there was no management on duty every time we called. Still waiting a month later for the manger to call us back from a scheduled phone call. Had to buy a portable AC so we could cool down the RV, sent an email to their customer service department and they are still working on it this is going on 4 weeks, had to send them the same information twice. If you want to enjoy an RV trip do not rent from Cruise America once they get your money they don't care about you. They tried to settle for 275.00 but that was not even the cost of the portable AC unit we had to buy, the 3 days we did not use the RV, the food we lost and the vet visit for our fur babies. We had to find our own help in the middle of the desert at a Cruise America 2 hours away from us to be told that it was unsafe to drive. But we had to get home and they did not have another RV for us. When customer service does call you back they call you on your home phone not your cell. But still waiting for management to call us back. Keep all receipts, phone records, use only one email thread do not write them a new email each time and take pictures. Keep for your records because you may have to use them.

Even though I had to cancel, (because of a recent injury) staff person was very kind and courteous. I have rented from Cruise America for many years and always had excellent service.

Everything was good, but I was charged a $55 dump fee when I did not even use the toilet. We dumped both the tanks, and we did not even use the toilet. When asked about the fee, we were told there were solid stuff at the bottom of the black water tank that needed to be washed, and the level showed tank was 2/3 full. The tank was 2/3 full when we rented the vehicle. So the tank already had those solid waste when we rented the vehicle.

I had never rented an RV before and thought that it would make our 10 day trip to visit relatives and attend a memorial service for a family member worry free and comfortable. To start you (cruz am) should not show someone a motorhome in very poor shape when there is another in excellent shape right next to it. When you (cruz am) figure out that the rental you are showing is in poor shape, don't allow the renter to hear you ask another employee "do we have another one?". I was expecting quality vehicles and quality employees. I assumed that the vehicles would have undergone some kind of vigorous check list and the employees well trained. After this first encounter I felt I needed to do a more thorough inspection. Found: fuel tank under half of what was stated, caulking around cab separating(yes I said Caulking), entire floor soft with water damage, and taillight out. Cruz Am decided that they needed to fix the taillight (2 hour repair?) and that the other things were not necessary to fix at this time. On the trip the water leak was found to be not repaired(water constantly on the floor), three of the electrical outlets did not function(tripped breaker when plugged into), check engine light was on, and very bad vibration at highway speeds. I contacted Travelers assistance as directed and was told that they would look for a place that can fix the leak and look at the electrical problem, they said if the engine light was not flashing it could be driven. If the light started to flash I would need to stop driving immediately and contact them. Two days went by and no one contacted me about a service location. With all the vehicle trouble we decided to cut our trip short. On the way back we had a rear tire blowout, I called Travelers Assistance and was told that they would contact me with a time that a service person could be there. After an hour I called them back and was told that they were trying to find someone to change the tire. After another hour I goggled mobile mechanic near Barstow(100+degrees on the side of the I-15) and they had someone there within the hour. I contacted Travelers Assistance and told them what I was doing and after explaining the whole situation to a person that didn't have any of the information that I had given to the other two phone takers, she actually asked that if I felt comfortable it would help if I could drive the vehicle closer to a major area. I reminded her that the call could be recorded for training prepossess(I hope they look that conversation up). So after the tire was fixed and Travelers assistance tried to pay the tire center with a credit card that they would not except($225.00 and 3hours later) we were back on the road. Much to our surprise the terrible vibration at highway speed was gone we could hear ourselves think(bad tire the whole time?) I would like to thank Cruz am for paying for the tire repair and for not charging us for the day that we didn't use.

The vehicle was filthy - it took us an hour to clear out all the dirt and grime; the entire vehicle had an odor that was not pleasant. We had to buy air fresheners. The freezer and fridge stunk and was dirty. We had to clean it out before putting anything in there. The right side passenger door side view mirror came off - we had to stop and by allen wrenches to tighten it down, and the steering wheel stuck and was difficult to maneuver.

Unfortunately due to a sudden and unexpected family illness, I had to cancel our RV reservation. My 89 year old father in law has recently had a decline in health and has been hospitalized. He was given a short time to live and is receiving in home hospice care until he passes. My wife and I are his caregivers and it is for that reason alone, our family trip was cancelled. I feel that under these difficult and unexpected circumstances my deposit should have been refunded. Cruise America felt that due to my cancellation outside of the 7 day timeline I was in violation of the contract and denied my request to a refund. Its a sad day when an impending death of a family member isn't a sufficient reason for cancelling an RV reservation. **Update** I was contacted by a Cruise America representative and the decision was made to refund my deposit. Chenee was courteous and professional and understood my situation. I would consider using Cruise America in the future.
