We were a group of four girls. We did the hot springs and lava caves tour. we were picked up by Max and brought to get hiking boots/waterproofs at the office. We were able to borrow gloves, jackets, pants, etc. which was very useful! We did a 40ish minute hike through lava fields, looking at hot springs and bubbling puddles! It was amazing. The highlight however, was definitely taking off all our waterproofs and sitting in the 39 degree Celcius river. like getting into a hot bath! it was incredible. After that, we explored some nearby lava caves which were also amazing. We felt the tour was quite overpriced for what it was, but we had a great day none-the-less. I think we all had a soft spot for Max by the end of the day also!! :)

Just the kind of geology and history background we were looking for to enhance our trip to Iceland. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and relaxed but careful about safety. He generously offered to take photos of all of us. A truly unique experience to walk on a glacier.

I had a great time with our small group going out onto the glacier. Even though the weather was bad, our tour guide let us wait for a break in the weather to go out rather than cancel. This was a really cool experience with a great tour of the tounge.

Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we got a lot of individual attention. Well worth the investment, one of our favourite Iceland memories.

We had a great time on the glacier. Piolet, crampons and harness provided by the company. No need any previous experience with the equipment, they'll teach how to use in few minutes and the hike is not risky at all. The guys went in advance to the glacier to check the conditions and safety... Icelanders know their weather pretty good! The hiking guides are really friendly and expertise. 4 hours was not enough, I wanted more ice!!

We did a 2-3hr experience on the Svinafellsjokull glacier - what an amazing day, made even better by the spectacular sunset as we finished our walk. Icelandic Moutain Guides were great - the booking process was simple and included all the information you needed to know. Our guide, Anna, was friendly and knowledgeable, she made us feel safe but also showed her own genuine enthusiasm for our surroundings. It felt very much like a personal tour, rather us being another bus-load of tourists escorted by a bored guide who'd done this too many times before. Thanks for a spectacular day!

This was one of the best treks we have ever done. The route and its additions / diversions were challenging but suitable for our group which had varied previous experience. Our guide, Tom, was very knowledgeable about the terrain and the history of the area. He spoke several languages and was an excellent cook! The food was superb, particularly the traditional Icelandic smoked salmon and lamb stew - just what was needed after a long day's walking. Icelandic Guides' organisation of pick ups and drop offs at the beginning and end of the trek were very efficient, as was their carrying of our sleeping gear and food. All this, plus the fact that we had a good group of like-minded people who soon became friends, made this a memorable trip,

The guide was very knowledgeable and the group small. It was much better (and safer) seeing the glacier in a small group (there was 3 + the guide) instead of other companies who have many (like 25 people). As a bonus we also saw a few ice caves even though it was a glacier tour and not an ice cave tour. The prices are reasonable too. Awesome experience. I would recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides!!

Our mountain leader (Torva) was wonderful, she was friendly, knowledgable and put those scared at ease! Ensuring we had plenty of time to take photos and went at a great pace! This hike was the hightlight if the trip and Ive already recommended it to a couple of friends visiting Iceland next year. Thank you!

We took a 12 hour trip to explore 2 waterfalls, walk on a glacier at Skaftafell, and look for the northern lights. Our guide was patient, punctual, well organised, used a nice vehicle, drove safely, exemplary group managent and successfully included everyone with his leadership. He made us feel safe and welcome. Impressive professionalism. Would have loved to spend more time with icelandic mountain guides. As a former professional guide and trainer of climbing instructors and rescue personnel, i can tell you that IMG are pros, and you will have a great day (but dress warm!!! lots of layers and food in a pack needed)

We really enjoyed our glacier hike. The area was absolutely spectacular. Unlike anything I have ever seen. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and it was super helpful that we were able to rent hiking boots from the company on site. I would definitely use this tour company again if we return to Iceland. Thanks

My boyfriend and I did the glacier hike when we visited Iceland in September 2015. It was great - the tour guide was very friendly and informative, answering questions we had about glaciers and Iceland in general. I would definitely book an experience with them again!
