United Kingdom | 17 December 2015Our tour guide was knowledgeable and took us to some cool ice caves that he found that morning which was fantastic. It was sad to see how quickly the glacier is melting. We got lucky and were the only two people on the tour that day so we had the guide to ourselves. Definitely worth it.

United Kingdom | 17 December 2015Very knowledgeable, friendly team. Adequate equipment provided. A special mention to our guide, Octovia, who left me wanting to explore more glaciers.

United States | 16 December 2015This was a wonderful tour with friendly and knowledgeable guides. A unique and fun experience. Icelandic Mountain Guides was very professional and they provided equipment as needed. I felt safe and like I was in good hands. My only caveat is that the tour was marked as "easy." While the on the ice walking wasn't overly challenging the hike in was worth noting in the description. For those who don't have a lot of hiking experience, such as myself that was harder than expected. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it.

United States | 16 December 2015Our guide, Roger, was incredible--helpful, funny, aware of the needs and sensitivities of his group, and knowledgeable not just about the sport side of the activity but also about the local environmental nuances involved. I was a little scared of climbing at first, so he made every effort to take care of me until I felt comfortable. From then on, it was exhilarating! The climbing groups were small (unlike the ice walk groups), so it was great to get individual attention and lots of climbing time. The booking process was seamless, the gear was in good shape, and the overall experience was worth every krona.

Finland | 16 December 2015A well-guided, interesting and safe tour which fulfilled our expectations. Our glacier hiking tour guide was actually a gracier researcher, so you can imagine the high level of expertise :)

Canada | 16 December 2015We had a great experience doing the glacier walk with Icelandic Mountain Guides. We did the 3-4 hour walk with our group led by Oktovia and had a blast. Oktovia was a great guide with extensive knowledge of the glacier and she was also a blast, telling some great stories of how the glacier came to be. Arriving at their office beside the visitor centre, everything went smoothly in terms of checking in and gearing up. We took a short bus ride to the foot of the glacial tongue and had some quick introductions. From there we started our walk and it goes without saying that the views were breathtaking all the way through. Our group was fairly quick and adapted and so we were able to make it fairly high up on the glacier with a beautiful view in all directions. Not only that, but we were treated to a bit of a bonus as we had some extra time to explore a newly discovered ice cave! This was in September, which is normally too early for them to form (or safely traverse) but this one was huge and so Oktovia was able to take us there. All in all, this was one of our top experiences in Iceland and certainly something I will remember for the rest of my life!

United States | 16 December 2015My wife and I booked a trip with Icelandic Mountain Guides along with five of our friends. We did the zodiac tour of Jokulsarlon and the glacier walk. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. Not only did she give us a ton of information about what we were doing / seeing during the course of the tour, but we had great conversations about life in Rekyavik, the countryside, and Iceland in general. She was great company. The bay and hike tours themselves were more impressive than I had expected. The fresh, blue ice is other-worldly, and this was the closest we got to it during our two week tour of the Ring Road. Playing amongst the washed-up glaciers on the beach was a highlight of the trip. Walking the glacier was much more interesting than I had expected. I suppose I had imagined it being akin to a snowy hike, but there was a lot more going on than that. It's a living mountain with underground rivers, dynamic crevices, and lots of attendant Icelandic folklore for it all. We really enjoyed this trip and this outfitter. Just know that there is almost nothing to eat in the area (we managed to squeak into an expensive buffet at the only hotel in the area, but barely), so plan ahead.

United States | 16 December 2015From the moment we got in the bus to the moment we were dropped off in the evening it was a fantastic day. The only negative part was that the day went by too fast! The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the tour could not have been better, even the bad weather was an exciting feature. I highly recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides. Keep up the good work!

Sweden | 16 December 2015The guide was very nice, the place is unbelivable. The equipment van was robbed and we were told the tour would be cancelled at the very last second. Would have been nice to have an alternative so that we wouldnt have wasted all day waiting for the next tour to begin.

Spain | 16 December 2015Everything was fantastic, especially the guide, his explaining and the funny hiking on that beautiful environment. We did the short walk, over 2h on the glacier, it was enough for a first contact with the glacier. If you want a "real" hiking maybe i recommend you to do the higher level hikings.

United Kingdom | 16 December 2015The whole experience was great. The guys were really cheerful and chatty. They trained us how to walk on the glacier and showed us all the best spots with an interested story/explanation to go along. Would definitely go back again with these guys in a heart beat.
