What a fantastic experience. It's been many years since I bought a property and it has been simple and impressive from the start, which has really put me at ease. I had a lovely solicitor who completed my purchase in a few months and was always at hand for any assistance. He even completed on my property after hours to meet my deadline which i cant thank him enough for. The team at Homeward Legal have also been great, very informative and transparent. Absolutely useless -do not fall for this. I have been pursuing a house purchase since August and have had to sack both of the conveyancers provided due to appalling service. In one case (and I have proof) I was told that the delay was 'due to the other side' when the solicitor did not even know who 'the other side' was - I am buying from my mum and we are good friends with my mum's solicitor. I have today ceased to use this service and our house purchase is now three months overdue.

I needed to get an auction legal pack reviewed and asked them how long it will take - they assured me it could take 3-5 working days but I really needed it done asap, so they said it was likely it could be done in 3 working days so I went ahead and I made the payment for their services, and to my surprise I was referred to a law firm that would handle the case. After being told that I would get an email from the solicitor by the next day I didn't. So, I emailed the solicitor using the details provided by Homeward Legal. They were not aware that it was a legal pack review that I was after, so clearly that was not communicated to them by Homeward Legal. In fact, it turned out that the person who could do a legal pack review was on annual leave for the next month which was absolutely no use to me. Now, I won't name these solicitors because they are not the ones at fault here, Homeward Legal are due to poor communication of client requirements to the law firm. What was frustrating to me was how Homeward Legal could make promises to me that I could have the legal pack reviewed in a few days when at that point they hadn't even paired me up with a law firm yet. I got back in touch with Homeward Legal and was told I would hear back from them before the end of the day with details of the new solicitors, I didn't hear back. So I called Homeward Legal the next day and expressed my frustration at getting told certain things would happen by a certain time and then getting let down. That sparked them into action and within hours I was referred to a new solicitor, Ackroyd Legal. By the end of that day I had the legal pack reviewed and in my inbox. I was shocked at how fast Ackroyd Legal turned it around and it gave me confidence in any future dealings I will be having with them. Had I have gone direct to Ackroyd Legal perhaps I would have avoided my initial disappointment. My advice to anyone considering choosing Homeward Legal, they tell you to wait for the solicitor to get in touch with you, but I would advise to just get in contact with them immediately to get the ball rolling. Also, like I mentioned already what they do is refer your case to law firms, so bear that in mind.

This company promises that everything can be done quickly but does not pass this information on to the actual Solicitors who have to deal with the fall out of the lack of communication. It is easy for them to say yes to everything because they are not the people dealing with the Legal side of matters. They are not transparent about the charges they make for doing nothing but pass your details onto another company

Having bought my house over 10 years ago I was unfamiliar with the process so I wanted some information and guidance. Homeward Legal were very helpful in explaining the process, the steps I should take and were happy to provide me with quotations based around the estimated values I had. I would recommend them to anyone unfamiliar with house buying and selling.

I am currently going through hell with an instruction to buy some land through this company. They have instructed another solicitor firm to do the conveyancing ho have been truly appalling. In both communication and speed. What should have been the simplest of transactions has dragged, all the while being kept in the dark or given meaningless updates. Homeward have had no influence on improving the situation.

From the very first discussion I had with Mark, I knew he was genuine in how he could help me achieve my goals in such a short space of time. I explained to Mark how I was looking to purchase at auction and simply needed the flexibility of only reviewing a legal pack and providing me with feedback, in the 1st instance. Mark did not hesitate in how he could help and confirmed this could be done within the timeframe I required. Mark stuck to his word and delivered on the feedback, allowing me to progress and put an offer in during the auction. Too soon to say whether this will prove to be a good choice. They are not solicitors though this wasn't clear at first, they are brokers who use several solicitors. Having read a lot of reviews some solicitors do a good job and others a terrible job. It seems to depend on whether they refer you to a good solicitor. I had a more expensive quote from a solicitor , not a broker, I chose the cheaper option which I might eventually regret. Time will tell.

Update: following contact by Homeward Legal and them looking into my case, they have agreed to refund my fee as it's really obvious that the solicitor firm allocated to me did not live up to expectations. Homeward Legal are fine as a panel of brokers who connect clients with legal representatives, and I accept that they are obviously very concerned about customer satisfaction based on an immediate follow-up email after I posted the original 1 star review. However, if you do use Homeward Legal very competitive services, if you get allocated Mundy's, my advice is to request another solicitor, in all honesty.

Josh was great, checked all details to make sure quote was correct, explained procedure going forward. This was my first contact with them and I found him to be thorough. He also advised they no longer use the solicitors in previous review as they did not meet their standards for client satisfaction at present which was reassuring. Hoping this experience continues throughout the conveyance

Mark Mauchlan was really great on the phone. Due to personal circumstances I had to cancel the transaction and was refunded immediately but then ended up returning & once again went through everything seamlessly. Really efficient & responsive service!
