shrimp bao buns were empty, literally just a bun of bread, absolutely embarrassing for a fish company to send that kind of product, we paid 60£ for the tiniest portions of octopus , crab and 8 bao buns, i feel like i got scammed, stay away from these fish bandits.🤬

You asked me to email you which I did and I still haven’t had a response. Is the company simply lying or problem with your mailbox?

Well packaged and remained frozen. .Tonights meal was of handmade cod fish cakes-- only cooked one but left me wishing I had cooked two!! Best fishcake I have ever tasted - small but so full of flavour .will be buying again !! Previously tried coquile st Jacques ! Full of fish and small scolaps!! Best ever tasted! Unfortunately my delivery was delayed by the courier for 24 hours which meant my fish had been travelling for 48+ hours on the hottest days of the year. Suffice to say, once delivery was made, I could smell it before I saw the box! Dealing with the Fish Society regarding this incident has been completely unacceptable - whilst I appreciate the delay was by the courier, I paid quite a lot of money for fish that went straight into my bin. No communication has been received from them since I told them the fish was delivered, warm and rancid. Shame, because I've had several deliveries from The Fish Society in the past that have all been excellent. - edited after posting review to say that full refund has been issued. Shame it wasn't forthcoming after my first email to them.

Beware! Their system caught me out, leaving me with twice the fish I wanted - they couldn't give a dam! I thought that I had placed an order on the 06th using the introductory offer TFSNC15, for 15% off my first order. The order was for 5KG of Wild Sockeye Salmon Fillets and 5KG of Cape Hake Loin Steaks. But the following day, 07th, I got an email saying, "We saved all of the great seafood you've added to your cart so when you're ready to buy, simply complete your purchase". Later that day, I got another email saying, "Time Is Running Out ⏰Your Unique Offer Expires SOON". As I had not received an order confirmation email, I assumed that I had done something wrong when ordering. I logged in again using the email link provided, applied the TFSNC15 15% discount code again and placed the order. This time, I got an order confirmation email saying, "Thank you for your purchase" with order number 762281. I got a message from the courier saying the order would be delivered on 08/08/24, and it was. Then I got another message from the courier saying the order would be delivered on, 09th. Sure enough, another delivery arrived. Being a Friday, I emailed the Fish Society straight away explaining the double delivery and asked what to do with the fish. They said: "Looking into this matter, you placed 1 order on the August 6, 2024 at 5:43 pm and another order August 7, 2024 at 5:35 pm". I explained that the order on the 6th didn't go through and that I got an email from them saying my cart was still outstanding and I was about to lose the discount. So I placed it on the 7th. I emailed again today asking if they had a response, but they blew me off, saying, "We believe we have responded fully". All very fishy, but I won't be using them again!

I have been ordering fresh seafood from The Fish Society since 2020 during The Covid LockDown and they have been really good with using DPD courier service and it had never been an issue because when the parcel delivered nice and early and never at night, hence the dried ice hasn't fully melted and the seafood were still nicely frozen. However for some reason this year 2024 the company decided to use only DHL courier as their main delivery without any option for their customer to choose from - i.e. DPD or DHL, which cause some issue for last order in April-24, as I thought DHL would understand it is perishable goods that they would have some common sense and would not leave any perishable delivery to be the last delivery of the day. According to the customer service in the Fish Society state that the seafood in the parcel would still be good even if it has thawed out but if it is still chilled it can be re-freeze again, so when DHL delivered my order back in April at 8pm, though most of the seafood have been thawed out in the box when I opened it, I took some photos and sent to seek their customer service for help and they said that it would be fine to re-freeze and would not be causing food poisoning. Okay that's fine as it was the first incident that happened this year. Although DPD would never delivered any perishable goods that last at night after The Fish Society had sent it to their courier company the day before the date of delivery, which would have been roughly already 24 hours packed filled with dried ice and normal ice packs. in 23rd July this year again, I thought to order some more fish for delivery on 25th July but knowing that I have to be away in the evening at 5:30pm on 25th, therefore I paid £5 extra on the shipping for it to arrive by 1pm. On 24th at 17:3, I received an email from DHL have my parcel with a tracking number but not stating what time the delivery would be. As I am hoping that it would still delivery by 1pm on 25th for I paid for the extra shipping charge. Disappointingly when I received a text message from DHL eCom UK on 25th July at 9:30 morning, it written "Your parcel from SAF Ltd t/a The Fish Society is our for delivery between 18:55 and 19:55"!!! What is the point of paying an extra shipping charge to be delivered by 1pm??!!! No one is going to be home to receive the parcel and it is going to be left outside for another 24 hours. I called up the customer service, they said they tried to contact DHL but hadn't heard back from them hence they refunded me the extra shipping cost, but the customer service is missing the point for the reason why I needed to pay extra shipping charge for it to deliver by 1pm because we won't be home. Regretfully, I asked the customer service person if I could cancel my order for full refund as this order is total of £306.80 and I do not wish to be left outside when it been delivered for another 24 hours until we get home. Disappointingly, the customer service person said that they could not recall the shipment but I would have to wait till the shipment been delivered and contact them with any stale fish when I open it to deal with my order then. Ordering seafood online with the Fish Society used to be quite straight forward but this year has been incredibly frustrating experiencing twice now with their appointed courier!!!! Would I continue with the Fish Society again if they continue to use the unreliable DHL eCommerce UK as their main courier company? Most likely NO!!! There are lots of other fresh seafood company would not use unreliable courier company to deliver their perishable goods, it is well known. The Fish Society failed to understand this important major point, otherwise they would be more cautions to ensure that their appointed courier company would not let them down. And the DHL failed to have common sense not to delay perishable good delivery but to take perishable good delivery as priority. Or is it The Fish Society failed to state "priority perishable good" to their courier company??!!

Sashimi salmon fish arrived and was a tiny piece of fish for £10.50! Who can afford such in this day and age and even at all? Very very disappointing that they do not accept refunds as I wanted to refund it right away. Very disappointing first time experience and won’t use again.

Great product, let down on customer service. I ordered the BBQ seafood box which came the next day as promised. However, the two whole seabass fillets that were listed on the website description of the box were not contained in the order. This was very disappointing as this has been one of the things we were most looking forward to and we were charged the full price. I reached out to customer service the same day at their provided email address and got no response at all. I am a first time customer and will not be ordering from them again for this reason - such a shame.

Avoid this company at all costs. Very expensive and when the fish arrived it had thawed and smelt off.

The fish is high quality and you pay for it. Be warned: they expect customers to take responsibility for receiving the goods from the courier. Driver didn’t knock - I was in the house - and left the fish on the doorstep and I didn’t get any notification that it had been delivered. Found it defrosted on the doorstep the following morning. Fish Society says their responsibility has been fulfilled. Seems like hand to hand delivery of perishables is critical if this business is to work. They can’t manage that. I won’t be ordering again.
