United Kingdom | 04 April 2024Flight Details KD57SF Etihad Airways Flight 1409 | Aircraft Airbus 320 Airline Reference: KD57SF Mon, 25 Mar 2024 TRV 13:25 Thiruvananthapuram - Thiruvananthapuram International Airpor - India So you would think I would be flying with Etihad.. nope it was changed to Air Arabia and so I had to pay £50+ to take my bike on board (whereby initially it would have been free with Etihad) Customer service desk at Dubai airport were dismissive and trying to contact Etihad online you just get ignored. Will avoid this airline in future if at all possible

United Kingdom | 04 April 2024I used Etihad Airlines and upon my return my baggage was severely damaged when collected at London Heathrow Airport! A report was filed at Etihad desk and I was given a reference number to use for my claim on Etihad website! I uploaded everything including pictures of my damaged baggage. A case reference was generated and emailed to me, 2403114091181. When I chased up I was informed that my case was Closed! Without informing me and resolving the issue. When I complained somebody in Customer Service opened up another Case reference number, 2403204105611, and within 1 week this second case reference number, was closed without informing me and compensating!! I have desperately tried to get some response from Etihad but NOBODY wants to take responsibility and want to deal with this issue! THEY ARE THIEVES!!!! DO NOT TRAVEL WITH ETIHAD!!! Absolute con artists!! DISGRACEFUL!

Unfortunately my family members were separated from me due to airlines has sold the seats . Customer service was -1 as I am requesting agent to allow my family members to be with me. They told me it’s not possible do what ever you like if you want fly this is the flight else you go in a next flight but no assurance about seat plus no show penalties and pay for amendments and fare.

Japan | 30 March 2024I have never been asked to pay extra for an aisle or window seat when doing online check-in on any airline other than perhaps Jetstar, a low cost carrier. I understand paying at time of booking if you wish for a better seat, but at check in when there are many window and aisle seats available, the only free option was the middle seat allocated to me. I did not book a cheap fare either. So this seems very odd and for this reason alone I will avoid. Once you add an extra $140 dollars for seats, they are no longer the most economical fare. Very poor offering in my mind. I did not associate EY with being a low cost carrier, but I certainly will now.

France | 30 March 2024J'ai réservé un vol à destination de la Nouvelle Calédonie via Expedia. C'est un long voyage qui nécessite plusieurs escales, dont une en Australie, j'ai réservé mon vol aller spécifiquement pour faire en sorte de n'avoir que 6h d'escale (En Australie il est nécessaire d'avoir un visa transitoire pour une escale de plus 8h), donc j'était parfaitement dans les règles. Jusqu'à ce qu'il y ai une modification sur un de mes vols, plus de deux semaine après ma réservation : la modification implique de rester plus de 8h en Australie, DONC d'avoir un visa transitoire. J'accepte la modification (pas le choix sinon je dois tout recommencer depuis le début : changement de date de voyages, nouvelles réservation avec des prix qui ont augmenter d'ici la, etc.) SAUF QUE : Premièrement, personne ni Expedia, ni aucunes des compagnies aériennes (Etihad Airways et Air Calin) ne vous informe de l'obligation d'avoir son visa suite à cette modification : si vous n'avez pas l'information tant pis pour vous. Je trouve ça d'un manque cruel de transparence de la part d'une agence de voyage (un comble quand même). Deuxièmement : les demandes de Visa prennent du temps, énormément de temps. J'étais à quelques semaines de mon voyage j'ai donc fait ma demande de visa tout de suite après avoir appris ce changement. J'étais dans l'attente d'une réponse jusqu'au jour ou j'ai embarqué : Mon visa a été refusé la veille de mon départ : le mail était dans mes spams, je me suis présenté à l'aéroport en pensant que ma demande était encore en cours. Résultat : impossible d'embarquer, je suis rester coincé à Paris. J'ai contacté Expedia, et Etihad Airways qui, passé 19h, vous laisse en plan, sans aucune aide et débrouillez vous. Bien évidement j'ai pris une assurance pour couvrir mon vol en cas de problème (AIG travel, l'assurance voyage du site Expedia), et bien évidement je ne rentre pas dans les conditions de remboursement. J'ai donc jeté 1680€ dans le vide sans avoir la possibilité de me retourner contre qui que se soit En conclusion : je ne recommande pas Etihad pour une absence totale d'aide en cas de problème

Australia | 29 March 2024I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Etihad Airways. My flight from Sydney to Faro was abruptly canceled without any prior notice for my OWN WEDDING. They failed to inform me via email or text, and their only attempt at communication was a single voicemail asking me to call back. I would have unknowingly arrived at the airport on the day of my wedding, only to find my flight canceled. This lack of communication is unacceptable and caused me significant stress and inconvenience. To make matters worse, when I tried to reach customer service, I was unable to get through. Despite spending over five hours on the phone and on their chat service, I received no help. I also sent a detailed complaint email but never received a response and they told me they do not do customer service via email only a chat (which is clearly run- not by them...) Etihad Airways also informed me that they no longer offer customer service via email, which I find extremely frustrating as I prefer to have written records of important communications. This experience has left me deeply disappointed. If I had wanted a budget airline, I would have chosen one. I thought I was choosing a reputable airline, but Etihad Airways has proven otherwise. I would recommend considering a more reliable airline for your travels ( I could name a variety of many that would be better than the service I received) I hope that by sharing my experience, Etihad Airways will take steps to improve their communication and customer service for future passengers and for you if your not sure which airline to choose, go with the other one your considering because this service and communication was SO BAD and I am DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST!

Canada | 29 March 2024This was my first experience with Etihad and it is my worst air travel experience so far. We had a flight from Toroto to Abu Dhabi at 9:15PM, which we boarded. The boarding was complete as well and after some time Etihad announced they are having a technical issue which they don't know when will be resolved. And they asked us to deboard the flight and wait. Further, after waiting for so long, at 12:45 AM they announced that the flight is rescheduled for next day 5PM. They asked us to collect our luggage which was checked in and come back the next day for rescheduled flight. This is bizzare. They did not had any empathy towards their passengers. People have plans which get cancelled because of your incapabilities. We had a event to attend, which we are now not able to, only because of Etihad. On top of that, the attitute towards frustrated passengers was as if they have done something wrong. All they did was provide hotel accomodation (which was full)/ transport (which they promised for both ways but gave only 1). I would recommed everyone to never travel with Etihad. Worst airline is Etihad.

United Kingdom | 28 March 2024Soon after door closed they deboarded all passengers for smell of burnt oil. This makes me wonder about the maintenance procedures of the company. They made us check-in from a different gate, then another, the plane was there waiting for us, then there was not. We spent the whole night moving into an airport from gate to gate with these people not knowing what to do. They rewarded us free food from any outlet of the airport. Guess what, not a single restaurant accepted their conditions. A night of no sleep, without food, 10+hours delay. A technical problem is allowed. What is not allowed instead is the aggressive attitude of their managers, the false indications and the total confusion in managing a situation. I will always avoid this company from future flights.

Luxembourg | 28 March 2024Da ein Anschlussflug nach Bali gestrichen wurde und dadurch sich eine acht stündige Verzögerung ergab, haben wir uns dazu entschlossen den Flug zu stornieren. Etihad hat nicht die versprochene Zeit von 20-40 Tagen für die Rückerstattung eingehalten. Nach 40 Tagen haben Sie behauptet, es gäbe Unstimmigkeiten mit meinen Bankdaten. Obwohl zuvor mehrmals versichert wurde, dass alles in Ordnung sei und ich mich nur Gedulden müsste. Erst nachdem ich bereits 15x angerufen habe und zu guter Letzt mit der Beauftragung eines Anwaltes gedroht habe, wurde das Geld binnen 2 Tagen auf mein Konto überwiesen.

India | 27 March 2024I would give zero star if that would have been an option. I travelled alone with my infant for the first time. It was a horrible experience. I paid extra for bassinet seat but they didn’t give me bassinet. They never asked my son’s weight or height. I paid extra for the seat and they said due to his height he won’t get the bassinet. I understood and requested to change it to aisle seat because they couldn’t give me bassinet they didn’t respond to the request. I was stuck between two man and my son had to now sleep on my lap. They put zero effort to change the seat. I asked for a refund for the seat refused to give that too! Poor flight attendant service. I had to ask for infant meal multiple times. They said wait until we attend the whole flight! Really? Child should have been the priority when it comes to meal. I patiently waited, I had to go and speak with manager before my child was serve with meal. It took them two hours to give me one canned meal for my child! I had to bag literally for child meal. I called to explain the situation and asked to serve proper meal for my return flight they didn’t give refund for the ticket neither they seem apologetic! This would be my last flight with them, I wouldn’t recommend Etihad! Ref# RBR97Z

Germany | 23 March 2024keinerlei Hilfestellung bei Problem. Habe im Gate meinen Reisepass verloren. Als ich zum Personal ging um nach Hilfe zu bitten kam lediglich „wir können Sie ohne Reisepass nicht mitnehmen“. Als ich alle Gates ablief konnte/wollte mir keiner der Etihad Mitarbeiter sagen, was zu tun ist.. Welche Möglichkeiten es gibt das Problem zu lösen. Eine Mitarbeiterin blieb einfach auf dem Stuhl sitzen und zuckte mit den Schultern andere gaben keine Antwort. Erst als ich das Personal des Flughafens selber um Hilfe bat tat sich etwas. Diese haben mir einen neuen Boardingpass ausgestellt da ich mich mit meinem Personalausweis ausweisen konnte. Dann hieß es quer durch den Flughafen laufen. Das Problem hätte mit einem Anruf der Mitarbeiter der Airline gelöst werden können. Stattdessen lässt man mich bis zum Kreislaufzusammenbruch durch den Flughafen sprinten ohne konkrete Anweisungen, was zu tun ist. Abgesehen von meiner eigenen „Dummheit“ den Reisepass zu verlieren, fand ich es einfach Schade, dass hier keinerlei Hilfestellungen oder Anweisungen erfolgten.Es war dem Personal schlichtweg egal. Das Personal/ die Security des Flughafens selber war sehr zuvorkommend! Lediglich das Personal der Fluglinie selber lies sehr zu wünschen übrig!

Austria | 22 March 2024Ich hatte ob der schlechten Meinungen gewisse Ängste. Alles unverständlich!! Wir flogen von Wien über Abu Dhabi nach Bangkok und 1 Monat später zurück. Fazit: Sicher immer wieder Etihad. Das Essen und die Getränke waren 1.st class. Die Sitze komfortabel. Das Personal extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Aufgabe Gepäck als auch Handgepäck, das einchecken, alles super problemlos. Wer da noch ein Haar findet, dem ist nicht zu helfen, und wir sind erfahrene Reisende. Das einzige Manko, vorab erreicht man schwer jemanden um Fragen zu stellen, die Tel.Nummern im Net sind veraltet. Aber wir buchen garantiert wieder Etihad.

There was no where else to move to, so I spent 10 hours sat on hard plastic These things happen, the crew was great When i reached out to Etihad to discuss this after, it took 3 months to reply and I was offered $100 USD. I challenged this and was told they would not be changing thier offer

There are options available on the website to book flights in miles, however when you get to the payment section the system errors out. This forces you to call etihad airlines, to which you debate about the incorrect or should i say false advertising of etihad. For everyones benefit here if you try to book with miles etihad only allows this for direct flights even though their website shows this is allowed for all flights. Etihad should remove this misinformation from their websit and only show flights that are in fact eligible to be purchased with miles. Secondly, Etihad is not a low cost airline, however etihad charges for seats on some bookings, which does not make any sense considering etihad is one of the most expensive airlines in the Middle East. The airline itself is okay, but the service needs to improve and website needs to reflect accurate information, so that travellers can plan and budget correctly.

Bahrain | 19 March 2024After a lengthy flight of over 12 hours from Bahrain to Barcelona on December 25, 2023, I faced a disappointing situation with Etihad Airways. Upon arrival, I discovered my American Tourister 28” suitcase, valued at approximately $250, was damaged by the airline's handling team. Unfortunately, there was no Etihad customer support desk at Barcelona airport to address this issue directly. Airport staff assisted by creating an official damage report, indicating that the airline typically replaces damaged luggage immediately, but due to the lack of Etihad representatives, we were instructed to seek reimbursement instead. Given it was Christmas, I had to wait until the next day to purchase a replacement suitcase, which cost €264. Despite submitting all necessary documentation for reimbursement, Etihad's response after three months was highly unsatisfactory, offering a mere USD 50 or an Etihad Credit Voucher of USD 75 as compensation. Their customer service displayed a lack of empathy and accountability, resorting to trivial excuses to minimize the reimbursement. This experience has not only shown Etihad's disregard for customer satisfaction but also highlighted their poor ethical standards in handling customer grievances. This is unacceptable from an airline, making it a company I cannot recommend due to its dismal customer service.
