United Kingdom | 18 December 2024Mum is in a private residential place that had CARELINE/Appolo for years and served very well, saving her life once when she had a heart attack. As we move towards the digital era, the system is old and unreliable. Most recently, she fell and found herself in a “black spot” and unable to trigger the alarm despite numerous attempts. Several hours later, after crawling to the communal area, the pendant picked up the signal again, and she was able to raise the alarm, but of course, there were further delays as the team tried to contact her in her flat. Fortunately, the Ambulance service attended, and after a thorough check, there were no broken bones, just bruises, but a lasting memory of being unable to secure help. Fast-forward, I decided to invest in the new 365 digital care system. Now, she can be confident in knowing she can contact help wherever she is in the complex. Unfortunately, the first box arrived, and on testing, they couldn't hear us. However, after speaking to the tech team, a replacement was sent out immediately with next-day delivery. Great. I've had mixed experiences with the call centre, from massive background noise making it virtually impossible to hear the person to long delays on a Sunday, in particular, getting answered - I didn't time precisely, but once was definitely over 2 mins. It was not long unless you needed their help, so I was slightly disappointed, but a test midweek produced a rapid response. Maybe more people need help on a Sunday, or staffing levels need some adjustment. The call handler was very polite and helpful in every contact, even with the massive background noise. Overall, it was a good experience, even with the initial hiccup, so I am happy to recommend (date given is in the date range of all the experiences!)

Although the form filling online was frustrating and did not work (we are awaiting forms in the post), I was extremely happy with the delivery times and setting up the equipment. The call handlers were very helpful. It has enabled me to return home and allowed my father to be independent. Perfect solution to a difficult time for our family.
