The staff are great - we had to make a test call, which was answered promptly and very courteously. My mother also pressed her alarm inadvertently and she told me the response caller was "so kind".

United Kingdom | 20 January 2025I have paid a subscription for a service which means that if I have a fall or need emergency assistance, they will call me if I press an SOS alert button. I had a fall, was unable to get up and there was no response for 2 and a half hours. I am 86 and disabled and feel let down by this company. I have lodged a complaint which was unsatisfactory. I feel I can't rely on Careline.(This is written on behalf of my Mother)

United Kingdom | 18 January 2025Looked at CareLine365 following my mum becoming unwell. Mum lives alone and although I'm not far away we wanted security that she could access help quickly! I spoke with Careline365 before purchasing and they were great. Very calm and talked me through the products and service. The watch alarm arrived the day after ordering and was very easy to set up. We had a few practice runs with the watch and having Careline365 talking back to us when we activated the alarm! Both mum and I feel very confident leaving mum on her own.

United Kingdom | 18 January 2025I took out a SmartLife Fall Detector Alarm Annual Plan with CareLine 365, for my mother-in-law, in January 2024 at the price of £299.99 plus a one-off fee for setting up at £45 (not the cheapest on the market). We were given a £15 M&S voucher as an introductory offer. The Careline help service has worked fine and I am aware that to terminate the contract it is necessary to give 30 days notice prior to the annual renewal date. However, I was surprised to note in my credit card bill for December 2024 an entry ‘Careline365 Alarms £399.99’! At no point did we receive any notification as to what the new price would be. I thought this must be an error as the price of the plan on their own website is still £299.99 plus the £45 set up fee. I called their helpline and pointed out the discrepancy between what I had been charged and what the package was being sold at online and was told that the increase was due to inflation. I pointed out that the price increase represented an uplift of 33% which is ten times the current level. I was then told that the difference was due to a free three month offer, but I could find no evidence of such a feature on their website which only shows 12-month plans. The call handler then put me on hold whilst he took advice. When he came back he said he was able to offer me the same price as before at £345 for the year. I repeated that the price should have been £299.99 and that the extra £45 was a new account set up fee. After going backwards and forwards for a while I thought that at £345 at least I’d get £55 back. Wrong! I was told that the company does not ‘do’ refunds and that the reduction would be applied to next year’s (2026) plan in the form of a two month fee free period. Absolutely ridiculous! I feel absolutely mugged off by this. If we had been notified of the renewal cost beforehand we would have cancelled the plan and looked elsewhere. To add insult to injury the CareLine 365 equivalent plan is now on offer for January at £284.45 . Use this company at your peril!
