I have been totally blown away this morning with a card and some forget me not seeds for the garden from all of the team at Vetsure. The card has been hand written and signed by each member of their team and I cannot express how much I hold you all dear in my heart for being so amazing at my difficult time. This might not be a lot to some people but it really is the thought and the little things that are treasured the most and I will treasure your card and kindness for the rest of my life. United Kingdom | 22 April 2022Vetsure were fine for 7 years. No problems. A couple of claims. Paid out no problem. However at year 7 the price increased dramatically, which we offset by increasing the excess to reduce the premium. But at year 8 up it went by 34% from the previous year. It was clear they didn't want to insure our dog anymore and were purposefully making it an unreasonable cost. So we were forced to stop the insurance. Insurance was, in years gone by, a shared risk but unfortunately insurance companies nowadays seem to charge for personal risk - you dog is getting old so go away. Their reply when we cancelled seemed to support this - they weren't bothered we were leaving. So we started a separate savings account and all the money we used to pay Vetsure now goes in there every month to help pay for any Vet fees. I would suggest everyone does that from the start and avoid pet insurance if at all possible as it's not a fair system.

United Kingdom | 06 April 2022I cannot fault this insurance company. We have recently had to claim. It was simple and easy. The sign up was just as easy and the insurance documents were concise and free from jargon. We lost one of our pets in December. I only bucked up the courage to call in March, to cancel the policy. My call handler was so understanding and sympathetic. I even got a condolence card, signed by all the staff, with a pack of forget me not seeds. It means a lot that the company aren’t just about insurance. They realise how precious our pets are. Thank you Vetsure. I wouldn’t be happy with any other pet insurance company.

United Kingdom | 09 December 2021I phoned to try and reduce my renewal costs, and spoke to a very helpful chap, so by increasing my excess per condition I lowered my monthly amount by a considerable amount, which was then £5 ish more than the year before. Which was ideal.

United Kingdom | 05 November 2021Don't bother. Vetsure are refusing to payout for a 'pre-existing' medical condition. We took on the joys of dog ownership in January of 2021 and made what I believed to be a sensible decision to get our rescue dog (bear this in mind) insured. The process was simple enough, I stated we'd took ownership of the dog in January of 2021 and as she was a rescue we had no prior knowledge of any medical issues. The dog then suffered what we believed to be a bout of cystitis, which evolved into multiple vet trips, followed by blood tests which ended up revealing an e.coli infection. We claimed through the vet for each visit, which again was simple enough and we thought 'great, it'll be squared up and all sorted'. Vetsure then asked for the dogs full medical history, again fair enough - we managed to trace the previous vets and had them provide the records as requested. After a few days I then received 3 lovely emails stating that each claim had been rejected - due to a pre existing condition! I checked through the medical history to find a single case of cystitis which was treated mid 2020. Vetsure claim that this is somehow related to an e.coli infection 13 months later?!? - which the medical notes from the vet clearly stated. Safe to say we've asked the vet to write an appeal as this is utterly rubbish. We did call vetsure to query the claim, but the chap on the other end of the phone was absolutely no help whatsoever - other than 'fill out an appeal'. Safe to say vetsure won't be getting any further premiums from ourselves. If I'd not bothered I'd have paid half the vet bills in the premium costs alone. Don't waste your money or time. United Kingdom | 03 November 2021I took out insurance with Vetsure for my ragdoll kitten, when he was 6 months old he had a neurological episode and had to be rushed to the emergency vets who discovered he had a Liver Shunt. Sadly, he did not recover. Vetsure paid the emergency vets the full amount for his treatment, and paid for the death benefit claim even though I had only been with the insurance company for 2 months. Whenever I had to speak to their staff they were always very helpful.and kind and offered their condolences for the loss of my beloved pet, and I felt like I was a valued customer to them. When I am ready to get another pet I won't hesitate to take out pet insurance with VetSure.
