( Bents also do the best pavlovas in the north west! )

United Kingdom | 10 June 2023A bad start ended in a satisfactory result. Bents confirmed a delivery date of our item. The courier failed to deliver as per Bents’ instructions plus there was no communication from the courier as regards delivery time or schedule on the expected day. Once delivered it turned out to be the wrong item. Bents offered a partial refund and keep the item or return with full refund. I’ve given 5 stars for the manner and speed in which Will at Bents dealt with the issue. The item itself, a 3m parasol with lights, is excellent: sturdy, quality made, versatile in that you can move it as the sun moves. The lights are very effective.

From feeling welcomed as soon as I met the event organiser outside the marquee, to during the event feeling comfortable and at ease to leaving with thanks and a feeling of calm and tranquility. The space was so in keeping with what we were doing and there was enough personal space to feel really able to relax. The delivery was great and embodied what she was doing. I would recommend this session to everyone. The set up before attending could have been a little clear of where you need to go as this was my first event here as I was very unsure of where I should be heading towards. But other than that it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I had lost a gift voucher which was an engagement present and she was able to support and resolve this issue. She also helped set me up on the app, so I can use my bents card. United Kingdom | 30 May 2023Whilst this is a beautiful garden centre, customer care is poor from my experience. I was unfortunate enough to have had an accident in Bents car park recently due to a poorly maintained crossing that had a huge pothole in it. I was left with significant bruising and a relatively deep puncture wound that needed medical attention in-store and afterwards by my GP. Management asked me to send photos of the injury so I sent them. They didn't even reply to the email and had no intention of doing so. The email was received, I checked after a couple of working days and got a half-hearted apology dashed with excuses as the manager didn't think the images of my injury warranted a reply. Given the injury, I was also somewhat surprised to receive a meagre gift card as compensation / a gesture of goodwill for this stressful incident. I took it as the hassle of more action wasn't something I really wanted to pursue, but I regret this now. I have been really saddened by the whole experience as someone who shopped at Bents for most of my gardening needs. The voucher was spent to cheer me up, but I won't be back. _______________________________________________ Edited in response to M. Bent's reply: 1) Your response could imply that a sum for the gesture of goodwill had been agreed upon. It hadn't. I trusted that you would make a fair assessment, given the injury and associated loss of time to medical appointments, prescription costs, and pain. I was saddened and greatly disappointed by your judgement of this in light of the above issues which were made clear to you. As discussed, what I was happy with was a gesture of 'goodwill' being sent before the completion of the internal investigation. 2) I think it is fair to assume that I would expect a reply to an email with images of my injury, given that you had not seen the state of my leg prior to my email. Expecting a reply after 48 working hours is fair, not unreasonable as your assertion that I "expected an immediate response" would suggest. In fact, it is a standard response time frame across many good businesses. I rather think this validates the subject line of my review.

Contacted us immediately and item was added so we could purchase it and have been kept up to date with the orders progress. Staff in store are also very helpful. Would definitely recommend Bents to family and friends.
