I previously had a self directed 401K with IRA Financial and that set up went smoothly. However, it has been a nightmare trying to get the Self Directed IRA LLC set up. Entities division does not return phone calls or emails. Investment division does not return phone calls as well. I paid extra for expedited LLC service and had to reach out to New Accounts division (which is responsive) 3 times for them to contact Entities division for me to get Entities Division to respond. Transfer department was very responsive when it came to transferring my $200K plus funds from my old custodian. I thought over 4 weeks would give me enough time to set up a Self Directed IRA and purchase real estate. I am 1 week away with no SDIRA LLC set up and no funding of my SDIRA LLC bank account that I had to set up. This company may cost me the deal.

I received phenomenal service from one of the IRA Financial Group's Transfer Specialists in May, 2023. I had major problems with getting funds transferred from my Roth IRA custodian to the self-directed Roth account I had established with IRA Financial. The Specialist stuck with me every step of the way and even joined me for a conference call with the person at the company holding my funds. In the end, her suggestion of starting over with a new Transfer Authorization form did the trick. Funds were transferred within two or three days. It wouldn't have happened without the Specialist's consistent effort. When we knew everything was back on track, I told her that "she went above and beyond" that day! I appreciate her help more than I can say.

I recently made my first foray into using roth funds in private placement investments. This type of thing is manual and often error prone, but IRA Financial helped make this easy and watch for mistakes. The team there carefully reviews the paperwork for these deals and is proactive and responsive when communicating with me to get the transaction finalized.
