I have had very inconsistent and slow responses while managing my self directed IRA into an LLC. Getting someone to help with forms which were completed incorrectly has been very frustrating. Currently I left 3 messages for my rep only to find they are no longer with firm and the new rep has not contacted me after 2 emails and 1 message. This survey is very timely :(

Lost ~$36 million of client assets on Gemini and failed to disclose this important detail as I was moving to create a new Gemini-enabled account. To make matters worse, they've blame-shifted and pointed the finger at Gemini.

I moved to NYC and was forced to leave iTrust Capital. I chose IRA Financial and it has been nothing but a nightmare. The endless back and forth trying to get funds transferred (I had them reimburse my expedited fee because of how long this took) and then they were hacked. It took months to get my funds unfrozen and this issue resolved. Their customer service is poor and the rep I was dealing with was rude. Not to mention the difficulty of the app and nothing is user friendly. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone. You’ve asked for my review - here it is. I would give less than one star if I could.

This company has been very helpful in establishing a Roth Ira for me. They have a very available chat that allows me to ask whatever questions I want of a live operator and get immediate help. They’ve done a great job.

IRA Financial is holding my money hostage (as others have mentioned before me). Once they got my money, IRA Financial decided it wants to charge me a huge additional fee never mentioned before in cost discussions. The fee is to link my IRA Financial account to my legally-formed LLC. This doesn’t require any forms, any signatures, any legal setup, any changes to operating agreements, or any other work from IRA Financial. All legal documents already correctly link the account to the LLC. This fee wasn’t ever communicated until my IRA funds arrived in my IRA Financial account.

My customer rep who signed up with me left the company within a year of me joining. Getting funds into Gemini and out has been a pain to do. $90 a quarter just to have the account is probably more affordable than most crypto IRAs out there, they seem to be getting better. Research first

I transferred the account from ALTOIRA few weeks ago setting up a new account with IRA finacial and the website is down since a week now. I am concerned now. I think these guys are not professionals

I have a self-directed IRA with Gemini account newly opened by this company. Process was fast to open. However, service fees are too expensive. Yearly account maintenance now is 360$ instead of advertising 300$ per year, wire transfer fee 25$ and trading fees 1.5% so basically my profit is killed by all these fees. Not to mention there is NO limit order feature so always buy HIGHER than the market and very limited coins option on Gemini so it is not worth it for me to keep account open here after my first year is up since many companies now offer free account maintenance and only 1% trading fee.

Nothing is easy or straightforward. Sometimes hard to get in touch with the right person to help. Takes too long to transfer money. Initial account setup especially for an LLC was very painful.

The self directed IRA looks fantastic, but the entity itself just seems shady. After communicating with agents and reviewing locations, it seems like a possible fly by night operation. Some addresses are listed in Florida (Miami Beach), yet other documents point to South Dakota. Possible entity that would just disappear unexpectedly and possibly take your retirement funds with them.

The process is more complicated than I thought. But they have a great team. Each one is quite responsive and knows what they are doing. Overall, quite a good experience!
