Straightforward and easy to set up protection certificate (DPC). Unfortunately I made an error with some of the details but this was really quickly amended with a straightforward email to the customer support. Very helpful. Thank you.

This is a fantastic service. The information I received was invaluable and honest. I was concerned that I may have been doing something wrong. As it turns out, I have been right. I currently hold tenants deposit. It is up to the tenants to request their deposit back.

I have been with Mydeposits since 2007 and have always found them a great company to work with. I recently received a renewal request and as I had all the necessary paperwork required to renew, I was able to respond within the hour. My deposit was protected with mydeposits. The estate agents attempted to take a large sum of money from my deposit for cleaning with no evidence and factually incorrect information such as when I moved out and claiming I'd stained the carpet despite the stain being evident on the check-in inventory provided by the estate agents when I moved in. I submitted a large amount of evidence to mydeposits including dated photographs from when I moved out. The estate agents only evidence was the check in and check out inventory, they stated they had the property cleaned yet couldn't provide evidence of a receipt for this despite being asked to. I received the majority of my deposit back but mydeposits decided to award the estate agents some money just to 'be fair' and also referred to the estate agents as a 'member' in their report, they stated I had provided photos but it was not clear when they were taken despite time stamps being evident. Referring to the estate agents as a 'member' clearly highlights mydeposits do not provide a truly independent service and they appear to make sure that the estate agents/landlords are kept happy in some way despite an overwhelming lack of justification for this. If you have evidence to back up your claim I would strongly recommend taking your estate agent/landlord to small claims court and do not use the service provided by mydeposits.

This is a company that clearly works for the landlord and they have no intention to be a neutral part. We provided plenty of evidence that shown that the landlord wanted to finance an upgrade of the property with part of our deposit. This evidence was completely ignored by the apparently "neutral" third part. Very disappointing! So much time spent on collecting all the evidence for nothing. If you are a tenant under this scheme BE AWARE! you are unprotected!.

I needed to correct a DPC (Deposit Protection Certificate) which I'd issued to a new Tenant who had spotted an error. I emailed the amendment request on a Sunday to changemydetails@mydeposits and to my pleasant surprise it was corrected and uploaded on Monday. Thankyou J. !
