They manage property remotely from HQ in West Byfleet and the head office has almost zero communication with the branches. This means every time a property is let the negotiator has made a million promises to the new tenant that neither the property manager nor the landlords know a thing about. It's a circus routine that costs landlords an arm & a leg. As a private landlord myself with a modest portfolio, it was a real eye-opener to see how they get away with charging landlords as much as 17% to manage a property in addition to taking a top slice off maintenance of 20%. Unless you use INEX, their preferred supplier who is also based at the same head office and all INEX does is sub-contract jobs to external contractors meaning not only is the landlord over-charged by INEX but INEX also pays the top-slice to the agency. It's quite a successful money-maker and I must salute them for rinsing landlords and getting away with it. I worked there for about 18-months and they are the stereotype of a poor lettings agent. I do occasionally receive marketing calls from their teams with reference to my properties but as I know how hugely they overcharge, I'm obviously not going to sign up. If you have money to waste and little-to-no common sense they are the right agent for you.

Professional and great communication. My request, to Stirling Ackroyd, for a property valuation was a little different to the norm, in that it was for my elderly father's property, in preparation for when we have to sell his house to pay for care. Terry came along to the house, to undertake the valuation and explained the whole selling process in terms I could understand and answered any questions that I had. I was impressed and felt I was treated exactly the same as someone who was in a position to sell immediately. I have spoken to Cheveiz a couple of times who always offers support and help should I need it. I will not hesitate to use Stirling Ackroyd when the need arises to sell my father's house.

It has been our first meeting with an estate agent for a letting and turned out very well. Explanation of procedures and different options were outstanding.

I can’t rate as 0 star, otherwise I would give them this rate with pleasure. I had the worst experience ever with this agency. One agent completely unprepared tried to guide us through one of their houses available in Horsford Road, London. We arrive there, he was hurrying to show us the house, I did not had time to ask him questions about the property, I had to chase the agency next day to know the follow-up about our offer placed and no one was able to let us know. Customer service is very poor and this starts with the secretary until the agent responsible for guiding your view. I would avoid this agency, as the experience that we had through them was a complete time waste.

Freddie contacted me immediately after I had shown an interest online. He was helpful in taking down pertinent information concerning my search. The property in question was not suitable but I would consider using Stirling Ackroyd again should they be handling a property I am interested in.
