I dealt mainly with Joel Gooden at the beginning and he was excellent in explaining everything to me, keeping me informed. United Kingdom | 05 December 2024My energy contract was taken over by an energy company without my consent and without Informing me. When I challenged them, they said that my letting agent for the property in this case one of Stirling Ackroyd agents had given my details to a partnership that has an agreement with the energy company. I was not very happy about this as this energy contract transfer has caused issues for me. The letting agency obviously has this agreement. I found it shocking that they told this partnership the date that my flat was going to be empty and when to take over the energy supply without notifying me and without my express consent.This is very upsetting. Not sure I can trust them again.

United Kingdom | 30 November 2024Give you no option but to use ‘Tink’ as a financial guarantor stating sensitive data outside of the UK. Even when you select the manual option it prompts you immediately they have been unable to obtain a reference when it has only been requested of the nominated referee. This should be investigated by an independent Ombudsman or Which Magazine.

United Kingdom | 11 November 2024I owned two new build properties in the Witton area which were taken over by LPA receivers whilst almost completing exchange of contracts. The LPA receivers appointed Stirling Ackroyd and did not appoint anyone in competition which in my opinion should have been done. Sterling Ackroyd stated over a period of 4 to 6 months that they were unable to find a buyer and that they could only find buyers for the properties £90,000 below its actual market value that they were being sold for. It seems that the sales reps either lack experience or this is a sale of serious convenience !! The properties were sold without a completion certificate in place, therefore an illegal transaction. The buyers of one of the houses were told they could remove the disability ramp, which they did. This is a condition of the completion certificate and local authority requirements and therefore a legal requirement. Both the LPA receivers, and Stirling Ackroyd were fully aware of this fact. Perhaps they need to explain to the new owners that they will need to rebuild the disability ramp at their expense. There are other factors still to be complied with in return to obtain a completion certificate.

Stirling Ackroyd informed me that they were waiting on my final bill from Vital Energi to deduct any outstanding amount. After contacting Vital myself, I discovered that Stirling Ackroyd didn’t submit the required information until the beginning of October. Although the bill was sent to the agency on October 8, Stirling Ackroyd continues to deny they’ve received it. Be cautious when dealing with this agency, as their responsiveness to emails is notably slow.
