Unlike others here I have had a terrible time with Star. They keep loosing files. The assessor Jarrod Smythe will not return call. They promise to get my claim sorted but never do. This has been an absolute nightmare and now there is a civil emergency and this company has left me in the cold and dark with no hope of any resolution.

I have been with Star for years now and find them excellent to deal with and well priced for the cover.

We recently broke down with a large Motorhome fortunately near our home city. Despite the best efforts of the Mechanic we called out from NZ Trucks it became obvious the problem was significant and a recovery was required. We tried to organise a recovery through our xx membership. This was a long and complicated process over 5 hours and no recovery until next day.. On phoning Star Insurance I asked about leaving our motorhome in the location unattended. What a suprise when the call taker explained we had Roadside assist with our policy and they would sort a revovery immediately for our 8.5m motorhome. They phoned back within 10 minutes and advised we would have assistance within 30 minutes. What a relief. Thank you to the team at Star Insurance.

Easy to contact and get a quote with competitive prices

Bought a modified 4wd / explained all the mods and got good cover - at almost $1000 cheaper than a competitor - who did not provide any cover for off road use. Very happy with Star.

I have been lucky enough to not have to make a claim but every time I have called Star to check on a new bike quote, or any interaction over the phone, has been dealt with by a person who knows what they are doing.
