United Kingdom | 01 December 2016Ordered 2 items on line for store pickup. Given a due date and paperwork told me to go to store then if no phone call re delivery had been received. Did this, not there. Returned 2 days later. Still not there despite my order clearly saying they were dispatched several days before. The mothercare store staff, who were great, phoned to see what was happening. The order had not been sent.(the dispatched notification was an utter fabrication) and they hadn't any stock to fulfil one item. Did they bother to inform me of any of this NO! 2 wasted drives to the store. Pity this site doesn't offer zero stars

United Kingdom | 30 November 2016Item on ordered on Friday - paid extra for next day delivery. Couriers (Yodel) failed to call on either following Tuesday or Wednesday. No explanation offered, refused (when asked) to even make courtesy call to explain what had happened... just said they didnt know. Item simply remained in depot. Item will now not arrive in time for my son's second birthday. Appaling customer service. Indifferent, unhelpful, incompetent.

United Kingdom | 13 August 2016Ordered a product from the website adverised as £40 which I paid. It arrived with a £35 sticker, called up to complain and Abu from their customer services staff was so rude to me. Advised me that this is in the terms and conditions that products can arrive with different prices on their. I asked where are the terms and conditions which he didnt know. He was very rude on the phone showed no empathy, i then went to social media and sent an email they keep telling me different things and said as a good will gesture we will give you the difference. That is not a good will gesture, thats what I am owed. Never again will buy anything from these

United Kingdom | 01 July 2016I ordered an item that was faulty. Trying to get it returned has been painful, there has been a big disconnect between the phone customer service and the email communication I had. I phoned to arrange delivery as I hadn't heard by email. I arranged collection over the phone only to get an email saying something different. When I phoned they didn't know anything about my previous phone call or emails so I arranged collection a 3rd time only for the item to be collected that day! Inept isn't even the word for this joke of a company. I had to make a further phone call the arrange a refund which could take 10 days. I have since found the item cheaper on Amazon which makes me the fool for not doing my research before this debacle. All in all not using ELC again, there are better retailers out there where I'd rather spend my money.

United Kingdom | 09 June 2014I have been trying to cancel this order because it will arrive too late. I have experienced a very poor customer services from all parties. I called Tesco twice on Sunday, both times the staff told me that they can't cancel the order and that I needed to call ELC to cancel it. I called ELC today, the woman on the phone said that I cannot cancel this order because it is done via Tesco. She was very aggressive and dismissive. I have been trying to let her know that I called Tesco twice and they told me to call ELC. She was very patronising telling me to call where I have placed an order. When I asked for the customer service email she told me to go the website to find it and said that even if I emailed them I won't be able to get it cancelled. I was appalled. I think ELC needs to improve their call center, I felt horrible towards the way I was treated on the phone. I surely won't be shopping with neither Tesco or ELC again. I will definitely go to Amazon UK with much better customer service when you want to cancel, return etc. with the same price.

United Kingdom | 01 March 2012I love the wooden toys and 'Happyland' ranges in ELC but I do find that I sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for and sometimes their prices are a bit high. Great for outdoor toys.

United Kingdom | 02 January 2012I ordered 3 xmas presents for my nieces and nephews on the 28th Nov. One item arrived a week later and as of today, 2nd Jan - the others have still not arrived. Have chased several times, was initially told there would not be a problem, items were all coming back into stock, high demand etc, then when it was too late to obtain the items anywhere else I was then told they would probably arrive after Christmas. It is now the 2nd January and still nothing. Am extremely upset as the children are only 2 and 3. All items showed stock when I ordered and I received confirmation email telling me that they would arrive between 4 and 7 days. WIll never use site again.

United Kingdom | 29 November 2011The slowest delivery ever! last year was exactly the same i should have learnt from last time but I ordered some items i was told i would receive 7 working days later, its been 11 working days and i still haven't received an email confirming a dispatch of my order, I contacted ELC who couldn't tell me why they hadn't been dispatched even tho they are in their warehouse, couldn't tell me when they will be dispatched, and that i will have to wait a further 7 working days when they are eventually dispatched, so frustrating. i would recommend their products, i wouldn't recommend their online store!

United Kingdom | 19 November 2011I love the ELC and so does my son, even though he's 5 now we still find ourselves sneaking in there now and again. It's a bit pricey but that's generally reflected in the quality and they've got a huge range of appealing toys, both traditional and a bit more modern. He's still got quite a few of the toys I bought for him years ago!

United Kingdom | 02 November 2011Great shop with clearly marked age and skill indicators for the products they sell targeted to the discerning pre-toddler, toddler or small one. I also like the fact that on their website you can set filters to disregard whether it's a girl or boy for whom you're browsing and possibly ultimately buying. The store I visit occasionally happens to get a little cluttered, but for its size displays a large variety. The staff are welcoming and without furrowed brow.

United Kingdom | 03 October 2011The products seems to be a little more expensive in ELC than other retailers. I ordered from ELC & explained i lived in a flat for my order to not be left anywhere, but when i got home they had said it was left outside my door, which of course wasn't there, why would you leave a big order outside someones door?! I guess this was down more to the delivery company than ELC itself but i did tell them before hand not to do so...They re-sent the items out without any problems!! Wouldn't say i wouldn't use them again as i prob would do, just hope the service will be better next time!!
