United Kingdom | 21 May 2020Ordered 2 items on the 5th of may for my sons birthday :) i had an email saying it would be delivered the 14th so would be here in time :) but nothing came :( after numerous attempts to contact by email i messaged them on fb and was told they would look into, i had no message back for a few days so i contacted yodal myself and they told me they didnt have the item. Elc contacted me today saying the item is maybe lost in transit🤔 and that they will send out another item that will take another 10 days to come. Not asking me if i would like a replacement just went ahead and decided for me🤔 i have sent a message on fb and customer services asking to cancel and refund now. This has really tested my patients i wont be buying with elc or entertainer again.

By the 13th it had no arrived, I managed to speak to elc via Facebook and they offered me a refund or a replacement. I asked when the replacement could be delivered as its for my sons birthday. I never got a response, I have sent 2 further messages, posted on their Facebook page and emailed them. I have had no response

United Kingdom | 05 February 2020I do not recommend anyone buying from this company and after reading the rest of the reviews I wish I never bothered. If you’re looking for a toy please buy elsewhere! I’ve worked in customer services before and their customer service is as shocking as their next day delivery! I placed my order on Sunday 2nd Feb with next day delivery making sure it arrives in time for my child’s birthday this week, £4.99 for next day delivery which I didn’t mind as long as it arrived next day! Didn’t arrive Monday, didn’t arrive Tuesday and still no sign of it Wednesday still isn’t out for delivery! They refunded my next day straight away apologised for the “delay” and said it should’ve still been out for delivery yesterday, however yesterday afternoon I received an email from the delivery service to say they had only just received my order with them yesterday! Well they lied I don’t believe this was sent on a next day service and I wouldn’t have got my money back if I didn’t email! What makes it more embarrassing for them is that I purchased some other things from a different toy company the same day BUT it was standard delivery and it arrived yesterday!! I’ll never bother with this company again, it’s a shame because they have nice stores it’s their online service that is horrendous and puts me off even going in store.

United Kingdom | 22 December 2019If I could give zero stars I would. Shocking shocking shocking. Ordered lots of items for babies first Christmas. Paid for express delivery. No sign of my delivery - despite them taking the money from my account over a week ago. AVOID AND GO ELSEWHERE. The worst customer service ever. Spent hours on the phone going round in circles. They blame the courier (Yodel) and tell lie after lie. If you can find the stuff you want elsewhere then do so. Will never use again!!!!!

United Kingdom | 19 December 2019I ordered two sets of complete flash cards at the end of November. I didn’t receive a confirmation email or any update to tell me to collect my items. I contacted the customer service to see were my order was up to, to be told there was an error. The customer service advisor then sent the items out express delivery to receive them today, only to find one item in the box and a note to say the other is out of stock!!!!

United Kingdom | 03 December 2019I ordered my granddaughters Christmas present on line, I didn’t receive the confirmation email needed to collect it, I spent time on their live chat where they gave me a reference number and said I would receive an email, still didn’t receive an email and the reference was incorrect so couldn’t collect. Spoke to someone in customer services who looked into this, confirmed they had received the money but still couldn’t provide me with a reference or an email, they refused to give me my money back. Still haven’t got my goods and still waiting for someone to come back to me. Don’t spend your money on line with elc as you may never see your money or goods again

United Kingdom | 21 November 2019Bunch of absolute crooks. Friend purchased vouchers for ELC not accepted by ELC since take over by the entertainer. Waste of money. Consider needs of business rather than customers. I will never buy an ELC product again. They should treat loyal customers better.

If you have a faulty product through no fault of your own but are not able to present the receipt (ie this was a gift for your child from their friend) the company will do absolutely nothing to help, even though the product is faulty. One very disappointed 3 year old and one parent who will not be buying from this store again

United Kingdom | 29 March 2018As others on this site have said; a combination of ELC and Yodel means that basically you won't get what you ordered on time - or ever in my case. The latter part of the 20th and early part of the 21st centuries must just have been a blur for ELC - they (and their partners) are clearly destined to be another "high street casualty" and they will bemoan how hard it all is when the fact is simply that they are hopeless. They simply do not "get" internet selling to the point where they do not even send out confirmatory emails when you make a purchase - unless you note the order number at the web level - hard luck! Their customer service people are very nice and actually do useful things to retrieve situations (like the fact that they were actually unable to get a box from their warehouse to the original courier (Hermes) without losing it), but what they cannot deal with is that ELC use third tier delivery services (because presumably they are cheap) and even when the courier (Yodel this time) gets it on a complimentary next day delivery they don't deliver it - Yodel actually lied to me "card left" twice when no card was left because they couldn't find me. I cancelled at that point. ELC management must either not know what is going on or possibly know the situation is beyond recall and can't be bothered to sort it out because this is costing them a fortune in lost sales.

United Kingdom | 16 January 2018We ordered a Big City Train track from them, I rang and spoke to customer services who reassured me that the table had been packed and picked and was ready by the door to go out for delivery! Had no further contact, no one replying on twitter, facebook, i spent over 1 hour on hold on two occassions and no one answered the phone. Managed to do a live chat and was told that they item was out of stock and was never going to be delivered!One very sad little boy as we cannot get any other train table delivered in time for his birthday! - They weren't even going to let us know

United Kingdom | 24 December 2017They dispatched my order to Yodel who repeatedly contacted them to confirm my address as the house number was missing from my order. Yodel could therefore not deliver and returned the items to ELC. I found this out from Yodel's tracking information. I was not contacted at any time to confirm my address. I phoned ELC today who just said that as the items were returned the order was now cancelled. If I hadn't contacted them then at no point would I have known that my order was cancelled and I would just have been waiting. I just hope that I get my refund now.

Been waiting on my order since November, the staff tell me different things "its on its way" to "oh my colleague got it wrong its not on its way" to "we don't have this in stock we'll just refund you instead" I honestly think monkeys could run this business better. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY THEY WILL ONLY LET YOU DOWN. TRUST THE REVIEWS.

United Kingdom | 21 December 2017So wish I had read these reviews before ordering on-line! The order I placed totalled ÂŁ33.00 and I collected this on 5th December. When collecting the items the assistant at the Ipswich branch brought out two boxes and one bag asking if I had placed two separate orders which I had not. Upon inspection it was discovered two deliveries of the same items had arrived but under two different order numbers, according to the supervisor this had been happening a lot. They asked if I had been charged twice and I replied I had not just two deductions from my account at this time. I left with one parcel containing my three items and the supervisor returned the duplicate order. The following day they took another ÂŁ27.00 from my account ! I have spoken with customer services and forwarded onto them three different format's of my bank statement showing the withdrawals (as they keep saying they have been unable to open the attachments I send). On 12th Julia from Escalations emailed that 'any pending payment will drop back into my account without further action'... I'm still waiting. Tried ringing customer services again and gave up after an hour. Absolutely amazed that ELC can get this so wrong very disappointed.

United Kingdom | 20 December 2017Outrageous customer service! Ordered my sons xmas present, big city lifting bridge rail play table, online. Transaction went through and money left account and received email confirmation of expected delivery date. When we were notified to collect it, we were told it hadn't arrived. This went on for days and after several visits and phonecards, we were eventually told the item was out of stock! So my question is why take customers money if the item is out of stock? We then asked for a refund to our card and we're told we would have to ring a number which we did, and the lines were busy the entire day with the same recorded message! So now we are out of pocket and have no refund and had to buy the same toy elsewhere! Absolutely disgusting especially at Xmas! I want to know how to get my refund ASAP, and there's no option to do it online which is actually illegal. When you click on the link it goes to an error 404 page, meaning it does not exist! Very angry indeed! Will not buy from ELC again!

The money was in the bank ready to take for a full week but then it bounced back and went into my bank. As I had no further correspondence stating that the order had been received processed or delivered I assumed that there was a fault with the transaction and bought another gift instead. On the 8th of December the parcel arrived and was signed for by a family member as I was working. The money was instantly taken from my bank without warning or approval which resulted in an overdrawn account which I will be charged for. This was their response I am sorry to find that you are not happy with a recent order you have placed with us. Please be advised that when you place an order with us the payment is held in reserve until the item is dispatched. At this stage we then take payment. If there is a delay in the order being dispatched this payment may drop back into your account, however this amount will remain earmarked for us unless the item is cancelled. I am sharing this so that other people are aware of it. My bank fees are now very likely going to to be more than the cost of the gift itself. I will be referring this matter further. I just wish I had read these reviews before I made my purchase. I expected better from a well known long standing company than the service I received and I would not recommend nor will I be using them again as they clearly do not care about the concerns of the customer nor the inadequacies of their current methods which result in so many unhappy customers. I shall not return.

The order still says processing said they had backlog from Black Friday now they’re blaming weather !!
