After reading the recommendations here, I reached out to Fletcher Longstaff for their services to purchase my first home. I knew very little about the legal side of the process, but Tom kindly explained everything to me at every corner. He was very responsive via email and phone calls, and during pressing times, he even responded on the weekends via email, which I found to be an added bonus that I don't think I would have received if I had gone with any other firm. I had the unfortunate luck of buying the property from a seller who was very difficult to deal with and to further complicate matters, the seller had an incompetent solicitor who wasn't responsive and at one point mistook me for the seller and was giving me details about the progress without checking who I was first. Thankfully Tom's communication with the seller's solicitor and the seller himself was impeccable and after reviewing the details of the leasehold, he was able to identify a problematic clause relating to the renewal of the ground rent period which he pushed for, to get it corrected from the seller side. Furthermore, Tom was also keeping in touch with my lender, to ensure that my lender was up to speed with everything and had the correct information at a moment's notice, which helped greatly, as they did not need to do another round of valuation check near the end of the process. The whole process took about 4 months due to the delays caused by the seller not obtaining the documentation from the landlord on time and also changing the end-of-chain property halfway into the process. After the purchase was completed, within 3 months I received the land registry updates which was fantastic. All in all, I am very pleased with the service Tom and his team provided throughout the purchase process of my first home and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy their first or second home, thank you.
