United States | 14 February 2019You did exactly what you said you would do which rarely happens these days. I would recommend onerent to a friend or peer. One happy landlord. Thank you!

United States | 12 February 2019Impossible to work with. I don't trust this company especially due to the amount of sensitive information you are handing over. If you're working with them, you're working with a call center in the Philippines. They also harass you via text message if you haven't provided ALL your docs. They ask you also to provide so many documents increasing your risk of identity theft should they have a data breach. Honestly, wish I could review 0 stars.

United States | 09 February 2019Maintenance folks at Onerent followed to completion a challenging heater repair at my rental. They kept me informed and I appreciated their effort.

United States | 03 February 2019My tenant reported a garage issue which became a complex case since different vendors gave different opinion on what is the problem. There are a lot to discuss among the vendors, tenant, home warranty companies. Onerent maintenance team helped a lot on these communication, and we finally resolved the garage issue finally. The main contact of this case, Ana Escandor is responsive, considerate, and unbiased, the rest of team are also very responsive. I could rate the team 5 star but the reason of giving 4 star is my enlisting experience. The enlisting team is hard to get hold, and I felt that my property could be rent out much faster if the team can respond as quickly.

United States | 01 February 2019My wife and I have been living in one of their properties for about 2.5years and honestly it has been plenty of ups and downs. But this was not because of Onerent, we had issues with the condition of the property and slow response from the landlord. Onerent came to the rescue to address and resolve everything from termites, mailbox theft, broken A/C, plumbing problems, and lease contracts/renewals (a lot of problems with this place but Onerent was always available for help!). Rox Sun deserves a big shoutout and credit for dealing with us patiently and professionally. Cheers Rox, and thank you for making our living as pleasant as possible! Call him the Roxstar🎸

United States | 29 January 2019Unprofessional and delinquent at every step of the way. Every time I contacted them a different person responded with a generic message... "Hi there! My name is.... how am I able to assist you today?" followed by no help. We had to remind them about real California laws they were breezing over. Do not recommend.

United States | 11 January 2019Update: It takes a big of advocacy, but the CEO resolved our issues. We've had subsequent issues but he's stepped into resolve them Here's the old review: Every step of my experience with Onerent was a complete and utter disaster. When we first looked at the apartment, the agent knew absolutely nothing about the unit and the building. We walked in on very annoyed tenants who were clearly not informed that we would be coming. When we tried to move in at the agreed upon date, they forgot to leave the keys for us! This delayed our move in by over a week! Then when we finally were able to move in the apartment was in filthy condition. And when I say filthy I mean that I actually gagged from disgust when we subsequently cleaned that apartment. Not to mention the place smelled. I was genuinely horrified and I'm not a germaphobe at all When we finally moved in over two weeks after our original date, they only offered us a minor partial refund of the weeks of rent we had paid for nothing. They only respond to issues when it suits them and very slowly at that. It's gotten to the point where they're so bad that the landlord communicates directly with us because they're too inefficient. They also overprice all their services (another reason the landlord has cut them out) I have lived in three countries and five cities and this is the worst property manager I have ever dealt with!

United States | 29 November 2018They followed through on their commitments, and I had a qualified tenant moved in less than 3 weeks. Good communication via text, phone and email. Transparent about fees and very kind staff. Although you end up talking to a lot of people in the process (4 for me), they are all generally well trained and knowledgable.

United States | 30 October 2018After reading through other people's reviews...particularly bad ones, it's unfortunate, but truly reassuring that what we experienced with OneRent is not unique to us. It's a recurring, systemic problem with this company. OneRent, you can respond to us reviewers (who wrote you bad reviews) however you want, but really, look internally, look the root cause of those issues, and fix them. FIX THEM. Fix them the way they need to be fixed not how YOU think it could be fixed. Then you can reply back and explain why you don't think you deserve the review. Very untrustworthy property management company. When our tenant moved out, they took one of our furniture with them, and left a few items in the place broken. OneRent let them off the hook, and didn't provide repair that's written in the contact. We had to hire a contractor on our own to fix the broken items in the place before the new tenants moved in. OneRent promised to reimburse the cost, and they lied. They determined some of the issues were due to normal wear and tear, so they refused to reimburse us the full amount of cost for repair. So we had to email and call and argue for our rights. Again and again and again. Mind you, these all ordeal dragged on more than 3 months after the previous renter had moved out and the current ones already moved in. (They said they finally mailed a check to us. But really? after more than 3 months? Countless phone calls and email exchanges? Is this how things supposed to work with OneRent? Really?) What's worse, they refused to help us track down and return our furniture that the previous tenants took. One Rent kept treating us like a football, pushed us around among their departments, today is talking to the maintenance team, tomorrow is talking to accounting, the day after tomorrow is talking someone else who is either on vacation, busy, or couldn't be reached. They still haven't helped us get our furniture back!!! And their excuse is that well the tenant already moved out so it's on us to get back our stuff. So we had to contact our previous tenant. Really???Isn't it supposed to be OneRent's job to contact the previous tenant, who they had direct contact because of our contract agreement, and help arrange to get our furniture back? Whenever we call, they promised to call us back. They never did! We had to call them back, email them, and having to be pushed back and forth. And while they talked to you nicely on the phone, they couldn't help you get your issues resolved, and those issues were completely caused by their lack of communication and their incompetence to work with their customers. We have lost trust to this company. If you are looking for property management company, and want to have a peace of mind, and not want to be confused about why some reviews are good and some reviews are bad, my recommendation is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Or if you are the lucky one and hit the jackpot, they might do a good job for you once in a blue moon.

United States | 27 October 2018Company well-organized to manage all aspects of rental. I felt very comfortable immediately that they were professional, knowledgeable and would do everything needed to make my rental a success. I was not disappointed. Whenever a problem arose they managed it. Would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to rent property.

United States | 23 October 2018Usually I don't even bother giving reviews and when I do it's one or two lines. In this case I just had to share what I have been through because I don't want Landlords to put their valuable properties in bad hands. I feel bad for current and future tenants and landlords who are signing up with OneRent. All this company has is a talented Sales Department who can over promise and under deliver. I am very forgiving and patient but OneRent managed to bring out the bad side of me. I lost several months of rents and was redirected to so many different people who had no idea of what they were talking about. They are extremely disorganized and frustrating to deal with. Story #1 I was promised my unit would be rented within 14 days. After a whole month I put out my own ad in Craiglist, found a tenant. Drove from LA to the Bay Area showed the place and handed the tenant over to OneRent. I did all the work and I had to pay half of the first rent for it. Story #2 I hired professional cleaners who cleaned out my unit and I handed everything over to OneRent. When the tenant moved out and the unit became vacant they told me it was cleaned and in perfect shape to put on the market again. Just to be sure I went there and inspected the unit myself. Dust and spider web all over the place, kitchen and oven was disgusting, somebody did their business in the toilet and it was still marks. I am not a Pro but I don't think you are supposed to show a unit in that shape. I called OneRent and asked to talk to a Manager. The person told me she is not allowed to hand over the phone to a Manager. When I asked for the name of the Manager she said she is not allowed to give me the name either but could take a note and hand my message to them. Story #3 OneRent found a tenant for me who they called "OneRent Guaranteed Tenant". When I asked what this means I was told they will cover the rent even if the tenant wont pay since it's a "Guaranteed Tenant". For my second unit I waited 3 whole months until they found somebody who was "One Rent Guaranteed". I wanted to make sure I am safe which was stupidity from my side since I lost 3 moths of rent. Two weeks ago the same "OneRent Guaranteed Tenant" just decided to leave and not pay rent, not even penalty. All OneRent did was call me and say that the tenant lost his job and couldn't pay which resulted in a terminated lease. I asked about the Guarantee and if I would still receive rent. He said the "Onerent Guarantee" was terminated as soon as the tenant couldn't pay. I was speechless. Story #4 Before I handed over my units to OneRent I used to manage the property myself. I am familiar with the cost of repairs and maintenance. Every time something happened I called my own guy to double check the price. I noticed every time OneRent was finding somebody the fix something cost were 30-60% higher. Also since they don't have their own Handymen they hire people. This process can take several weeks which frustrated all my tenants. To speed up the process and keep the prices down I gave them the number to my contractor/handyman. They made him so upset he doesn't even want to work for me anymore. Thanks OneRent Story #5 I asked OneRent to find a guy who could cleaned out the garden and remove some trash. The got back with a quote $210. I found that to be a good deal since my guy said $400. I told OneRent to hire the person who came and did a very good job. After he was done I received an email from OneRent saying she made a little mistake. She mentioned the price was actually $2100. This person was my agent who used to forget things I repeatedly told her. I had to do so many trips from LA to the Bay area just to fix her mistakes. Story #6 When my tenant moved out I received a call from OneRent saying there are things in the garage that might belong to the previous tenant who moved out. They asked whether they should haul them away. I mentioned all those items are mine and should not be hauled away. When I went back to inspect the house I noticed they hauled away all my stuff. I called and emailed back but nobody even responded to my request. I requested a compensation but they still not gotten back to me. This was December 2018. That was when I decided to finally move away from Onerent. Conclusion I can go on and on with stories. I feel for all the people that have written their bad experience about OneRent here. They probably feel as hurt and ripped off as me. When I signed up with OneRent they had decent Google and Yelp Reviews. I saw their rating go down and should have taken that as a red-flag. Today they have turned off and shut down their Google and Yelp reviews, wonder why?

Singapore | 17 October 2018I have a good experience with Onerent so far. They found a very good tenant for my apartment. For the first month I have some problems with paying and receiving the rent with the accounting team but the problem was solved quick and beside that I am happy with them. last month the garbage disposal was leaking on the rental house and they acted so quickly. Within one day it was fixed. In general I am happy and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

United States | 17 October 2018When I hired Onerent in 2017 for leasing and management, at first I was hesitant, but they had many listings in my market and the team was friendly on the phone so I was willing to give it a shot. I've enjoyed working with them so far, especially with the Leasing team who helped keep me updated during finding a tenant and pretty good notification system for keeping me updated on the status of my property. It leased in 2 weeks! They've improved the landlord platform as well and I like that I get paid fast each month. Some other reviews are based on situations that just happen in rentals, like taking from a security deposit for repairs. In my experience, they provide thorough move-out inspection reports and deductions for deposit. Anyways, would recommend giving Onerent a try!

United States | 05 October 2018I am a tenant and OneRent is the most disjointed company that I have EVER worked with, real estate or otherwise. You will hardly ever reach the same individual. Always have a trusted real estate advisor that you are familiar with, review the lease, whether you are the landlord or tenant. The degree of sloppiness with the documentation is not only astounding but can be harmful to you, as the tenant or landlord!!!!

United States | 02 October 2018I just moved into my new place and I can already tell it's going to be a rough year with Onerent. I was told they would be cleaning the apartment prior to move in and doing an inspection and fixing broken lights, touching up paint, etc. Upon moving in I realized they hadn't even touched the apartment. Stains on the walls, cobwebs, layers of dust. It was honestly very disgusting. To get any answers from them is damn near impossible because you have to call their call center and they always need to "get more information and call you back" then I end up calling THEM back. They gave me about 6 different keys all in an envelope with no labels as to what they were for. They left garbage in the kitchen (due to not cleaning it) and were not diligent in informing me of important information such as my car space number. Overall, very disorganized company. It is clear as day that they are a start up and have MANY issues and bugs to resolve.

United States | 01 October 2018Don't waste your time. They make bold claims about how quickly they will rent your property and how they will make themselves available to help address any concerns throughout the rental process. However, once you sign with them you're lucky if you get a reply to your email or phone calls. The few applicants they did send were poorly screened and did not meet even the most basic financial requirements.

United Kingdom | 22 October 2017I regret doing business with this company and I wouldn't use them again. They appear to make their money by being ruthless with tenants and with landlords. They do take away a lot of the stress of renting property but this comes at a high cost.

Greece | 05 October 2017We struggled with this model. If you seek a property management company with account management that knows your property, look elsewhere. We have been with them for two years adding three buildings for a total of six units. They have not provided reports on a timely manor. We had to request reports then have them customize it to support multi unit. They did not provide a portal for multi unit properties. They have not provided ledger data to verify transactions. Their Performance data consists of stating the monthly rent amount only! They are always nice but they can't fix their systems to support multi unit properties. They have changed their support model three times and each time they did not notify us but told us only when we called in. They have changed account managers on a regular basis again without notifying us and they just eliminated the role yet the names of our account managers are still on the portal!!!! Their third party maintenance groups are did not perform well for us and see,Ed to over charge when we compared proces with some of the vendors we used in the past. They do not know how to get a job done and we end up spending more time addressing them if we had just done the work ourselves. There support is both offshore and scripted. Bad multi unit support model. Really good sales people but buyer beware, they should prove they can actually support multiple units. They failed with us.

United States | 31 March 2017THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HONOR THE LEASE THAT YOU SIGN!!!!!!!!! We have been renting using Onerent for about 2 months. We signed our lease agreeing to a prorated rent since we were not living there the first full month. About 2-3 weeks after signing our lease we get an email saying that THEY made a mistake on our prorated rent and we needed to pay an extra $150.00. We emailed back asking why we were responsible for their mistake when we had already signed the lease and paid for the prorated rent. We did not get a response. The $150.00 was due and since we did not want a late fee on our end we paid it. I again reached out to them asking to look into this because we did not feel we should be responsible and got no response. I then reached out for a THIRD time and was told multiple times that we took responsibility because we paid it even though they admitted it was their fault. I continued to tell them that we tried multiple times to reach out to them before with no response. We reached out BEFORE the payment was due. They would not tell me how they were going to rectify their mistake and how they were going to make sure something like this was going to happen in the future so I asked to speak to a manager. I was told I would get a call either that night or tomorrow morning. Instead of a manager calling me I got a call from another worker(apparently I need to remove the name because they handle being called out by name on here), the person who emailed us in the first place about the fee who did not respond to either one of my messages. While talking to this employee She said she understood why I was upset and told me that their computer automatically prorates and made a mistake. I again asked her why this was my fault and how I was going to know this was not going to happen in the future. She told me she was going to send us a lease attachment saying that they made a mistake and we paid it. I asked her how this would help me. Instead of answering me she told me that it was a mistake on their end, but she cannot make any promises. I told her that she was not honoring our lease and she told me again she was going to send the lease attachment (which does nothing but cover them for THEIR mistake). She also told me she did not respond because she was on sick leave and nobody had access to her accounts. I told her that again, that is an issue they need to solve on their end and is no excuse for not responding to me to deal with this before the payment was due (she had been back for a while because I got a call and text from her over a week prior to our phone conversation). After a lot of going back and forth and her continuing not to answer my question and telling me that she could make no promises on what she could do for besides sending me a lease attachment to cover themselves for their mistake she told me she would call accounting and call me back. I told her to actually call me back since I had received no response before. I have now been waiting 3 days to hear back from Onerent for a follow up. At this point I think I should be getting daily updates. Their staff clearly needs to take a busniess 101 class and has NEVER worked in any customer services industry before. I have NEVER had a business tell me that I am responsible for THEIR mistake after the payment had been made and I am FLOORED that we were even contacted and asked to make the payment after signing a lease. Seeing as we have only been here for 2 months I am feeling very uneasy about how the rest of our time is going to go with Onerent. I would not suggest anyone use this company, especially renters. Since this has been reported by inherent I might as well update: in the end they never took responsibility for their mistake. Our landlord had issues with this company on her end too and fired them. If you value you're money and sanity do not use them.

United States | 06 March 2017OneRent started well. I was impressed with how efficient and cheap their service was. It changed quickly within a year since I lost my original portfolio manager. The 2nd PM was not professional and not responsive. It took her 9 days to respond to my quest about the flood impact to my property in San Jose. I asked for her cell number and finally got it but was told she was no longer my PM due to a re-org. Now I don't know who's my PM and can only contact the customer success through email. Besides, their maintenance team is as bad as the PM, not responding timely and not professional. I sent a handyman to fix front door of my property per tenant's request. The OneRent rep on site ended up leading the handyman to the back door to fix something totally unnecessary. I had to ask the handyman return to fix the real problem. I asked reimbursement for the first unneeded trip, and they continued to ignore me. I finally got hold of a guy and was told their job was to open the door for the handyman to enter only, and they are not responsible for what happened next. Wow that is how little OneRent can do for you and how terrible their service can be. Will not recommend OneRent if you're looking for property management. Another sad example that fails fast when expanding fast without a good structure. I'm seeking a better property management company if you happen to know any.
