United States | 14 June 2018I recently had the new guardian device installed in my car , I have had continuous problems, mainly the device is malfunctioning by not Recognizing the car is running , therefore it constantly resets its self while I am driving making it necessary to blow every minute and a half which ironically is creating a unsafe situation and a Huge distraction because now I am concerned about the device instead of concentrating on driving , I spoke with the company that services Them and was told it’s a defect with the new Massachusetts mandated devices where the unit does not read the voltage correctly , he also stated many others have encountered this problem , it also seems to be hyper sensitive resulting in alcohol warnings and eventually a failed test which requires me to go back and have the unit reset which cost another $45.00 , I have called Guardian twice and no help was provided , I spoke with a woman named Cindy and explained the situation to her and not only wasn’t she any help at all , she was very rude and condescending, telling me there was absolutely nothing wrong!!!! I do not recommend this product , they are very nice and professional when selling you this product but once it gets installed you are on your own !!!!

United States | 06 June 2018Guardian IID 5/22/18 1:30-6:00 PM Guardian install at Downtown Wheel. Friend drove me and vehicle to vendor. Friend went home. $20 install coupon not honored by vendor. Was told by Guardian rep that vendor would give me permit to drive to DMV. This was bad information and I had to call a friend to come get me and vehicle. Friend drove vehicle to my home. home. 5/24/18 Uber to DMV for license reinstatement. 5/24/18 Attempt to start. Handset “No base” error. Called Guardian and was told handset needed to be serviced. Tow dispatched to Downtown $53.00. Downtown reset. Diagnosis was aledged rolling test fail by friend. Handset recalibrated $53.00. Handset continued to display same error “No base”. Downtown determined vehicle required a new base. Handset displayed same error again “No base”. New base was installed. Same error. 2nd new base installed. She error Additional diagnostic test performed. Handset would not accept updates. Told to leave vehicle overnight. 5/25/18 8:00AM Called to check status. Told not ready. 12:00PM Called to check status and was told rudely that we will call you. 5/29/18 Called to check status and was told not ready. 12/30/18 12:00PM called to check status. Vehicle ready. Noticed that new handset was also installed. 6/3/18 Able to drive. Passed 2 rolling tests. System operating as advertised. I even waited in car as advised by installer in anticipation of a rolling test. 6/5/18 Attempt to start vehicle and received a “Permlock” message.It is now too late in the day to reach Downtown to ask if I can take devise and camera in for a check or if I have to take the vehicle as well. It casts $50 for the tow and another $50 for the alleged violation. I have not yet even put 10 miles on this vehicle. I think I should have it removed and try a different vendor

Now today go for monthly service and as we are leaving the handset isn’t working telling me to start ignition while the car is running! Go all the way back and the tech says he thinks my BRAND NEW BATTERY less than 6 months old is not putting out enough voltage. It was when I drove in now after service it isn’t? Every 30 seconds having to blow into the handset tells me trickle charge my battery and if it doesn’t reset bring it back. I’m filing a complaint with Massachusetts nothing but issues. I’m done with this bs. I do everything right and still not working right

United States | 26 May 2018Here I am again, but this is going to be short and sweet. I had the Guardian IID removed from my car over a week ago and had Smart Start put in. OMG!! I truly wish I had Smart Start from the first. It has given me absolutely NO problems!! I enjoy driving again. Thanks for letting me vent. YAY SMART START!!

The representative that I spoke with for around a half hour, James "Brad" Minor, was BY FAR the BEST customer service representative that I've EVER had to deal with!!! Kind, courteous, attentive, patient, helpful, & I could go on & on. I NEVER write reviews, especially on this topic, & if I have it's been because my experience was so terrible. However, I wanted him to get recognition for his professional & interpersonal skills. Getting an interlock device installed in your vehicle isn't exactly something that brings people joy, but this company should take pride that they have someone so wonderful working for & representing them. Hands down THE BEST customer service I've EVER experienced & I thank him for that. If only they could all take pride in their job & try to make people's experiences enjoyable. Thank you, Brad!!!

United States | 04 April 2018Again a problem with the device in my wife’s car. She came out of work and handset wouldn’t turn on stated a module failure. Called guardian get people answering from home with no clue. We were told disconnect negative battery cable and do a hard reset, did that and yes it would start but gave us a violation which cost $45 to have removed and fighting for a refund. On top of it all, they had her not even having a device with them! New equipment and no one knows what to do. We had a direct contact and even she hasn’t returned any of our calls. We are going to state dmv and filing a complaint and asking for a waiver to have it replaced with a better company. Can’t do another year of this.

United States | 26 March 2018This is my "last straw" review after 3 months with the Guardian Interlock device in my vehicle. Since Dec 12, 2017, I have experienced 3 serious issues with the device leaving me stranded or unable to get to work. After investigation, all conclusions were that this is the devices fault, not mine or my vehicles. The company has not reimbursed me a penny (even after stating it is failure with their device) and I have incurred >$500 in towing fees, plus time from work, plus inevitable stress. I am shopping around for a new provider as this is stressful beyond words when trying to juggle my parallel pregnancy (I am currently 6 months pregnant) and have a full time traveling job. I will NEVER recommend and will be considering taking the company to court for, at the minimum, financial reimbursement.

United States | 27 February 2018I have been working with Guardian for 3 years now, for the most part, I have really enjoyed working with Guardian. The technicians have always been kind and willing to accommodate my scheduling needs. Linda and Curt at the Tukwila, WA location were great! I would drive 45 minutes out of my way to get my car serviced because they were so great. When I was calling to schedule at the Woodinville, WA location (since the Tukwila location had closed) Brooke helped me with the scheduling and made the transition SO easy and simple. For needing to have an interlock system, I am glad that I started with Guardian Interlock, the device itself is not one that I am pleased to have, but the people are great to work with!

United States | 17 February 2018Again same as previous review horrible service called to schedule installation location was closed so the woman said she'd call me as soon as they open at 10 am No phone call so I called myself on hold for 30 minutes finally get someone they transfer me somewhere else hold again then after 20 more minutes prompts for voicemail. Today after two voicemails no calls back what a horrible way to run a business at least have enough people to answer phones timely and if they say they will call you then by all means do so.

United States | 13 February 2018I’ve been trying to get my interlock installed for the past 2.5 weeks and they keep dicking me around. They have forgotten to send in paperwork I’ve submitted, they forgot to tell me about forms I needed to turn in in order to get the interlock. Every time I call in they keep me on hold for hours or never call me back. It’s really aggravating when you need to get your license back and the people who you need help from don’t give a crap about you.
