We received the phone quickly and had no trouble setting it up. We purchased this as a house phone for the kids and to take with them when needed. It won’t call. We have excellent cell service and get a “caller unavailable” 8 out ten tries. This is not going to work for us. Very disappointing now that we have spent the money on a phone we can’t use. Bummer because I like the idea…. Looks like I may just upgrade my personal phone and give the kids the old one.

This phone seemed like the perfect solution for our family. I liked that my son wouldn’t get spam calls and the apps were limited (although I would have been ok with a few more that were just for fun). It would allow him to be in touch with his friends and not miss out on social opportunities and gaining some increased independence. But it doesn’t work well at all. Tracking has never worked whenever I try to see where he is-it just says it will take 2-5 minutes and spins until I give up. He can’t always text or call us when he wants to. He gets a notification that this person is “currently unavailable.” But the worst part about it is that about 5 weeks after he got the phone, he figured out how to bypass the no internet feature through settings. So now the idea of this phone is pointless and there is no way to put restrictions on! Very disappointed in this product.

Everytime I have had any question, Pinwheels customer service and support team has been professional, courteous and always very quick with responses. At this time Pinwheels customer service is the best I have experienced with a phone company. I look forward to many years more. Keep up they amazing job.

I ordered a phone for my daughter on July 31st. The phone shipped Aug. 3rd. Tracking hasn't shown any progress to date, Aug. 17th. That's a solid 2 weeks. I've contacted their customer service via Pinwheel website chat feature on Aug. 11th. Customer Sevice rep Ed Tanuyan said I need to call UPS. I said "No, they need to call". He came back and said he would let his shipping team know. Shipping team came back and said "Your phone is on its way!" because thats what UPS's website said from the day they shipped, Aug. 3rd. That's the last I've heard from them and I've been contacting them daily. Have even sent an email to Pinwheel Co-Founder Isaac McPeak and some other email syarting woth dane@......... that I got from their billing invoice and states to contact them with any questions. No response from anyone. At this point I feel the need to file a dispute with my credit card company as I still don't have a phone or delivery date and I'm not getting anywhere with the Pinwheel team. We really felt this was the right product and service for our family, but we're over it now. I'm pretty sure Pinwheel is real, but the lack of customer service, communication and product definitely feels like a scam.

We’ve had our pinwheel phone for almost a week and it seems like I’ve spent more time texting a bot than my son has been able to use his phone. There constantly seems to be some sort of technical difficulties. Our biggest one has been that the phone can’t seem to keep the right time, which makes my sons alarm clock go off 3 hrs early. It also messes with the certain modes if you have times restricted for your child. Im probably going to end up returning it, unfortunately

I absolutely love this idea…however, for those of us who chose to live in the countryside with limited cell phone coverage this may not be for you. I purchased this phone for my daughter (who I swore I’d never buy a phone until she started driving), after a sleepover went awry and she couldn’t contact us. Now for me, I received the phone quickly and was easy to set up. I added the apps and permissions and decided on Tracfone for my carrier. Now I did have to use the AT&T bring your own SIM and it works. I added the minutes and data, but the cellular will not work at my house; it shows no signal. I can use the data while connected to Wifi, but the only phone that has access to Wifi calling is the Verizon option, which is sold out until around Christmas. Even if I had the Verizon option I’m unsure if it will work as my personal Verizon phone really only holds a call if it’s in airplane mode, which Pinwheel disables; otherwise the phone keeps looking fit service and drops calls. Now I did call support and was disappointed in the help. I couldn’t understand him all that well and he was unable to answer any of my questions. I was hoping for good things as everyone’s reviews on support were so positive, but I ended up troubleshooting myself. I wasn’t sure if my lack of service had anything to do with it being Tracfone AT&T or just bad service with a weaker phone, so I took the phone into town and made a call….it worked. Now based on my map I should be able to use Extended Range 4G LTE, but this requires a 600MHz 4G LTE device…Blue G50’s are not. So basically my daughter gets a phone she can use when she’s in town and let’s hope that she has enough service to be able to reach me and vice versa. Also, no waiting list or hard date on when the Verizon model will be in, so I’m hoping to be able to get one so she can use it all the time. I will add that I’m able to trade in the slim for some sort of credit for the Verizon model. Now I am going to update the APN settings manually to see if that helps. If not, I bought additional SIMs and time for Straight Talk, Consumer Cellular and may add others. I’m very determined, but I’d like to see a solution from Pinwheel. Maybe charge me $150 to take my old iPhone 8 and put your program in. Just a suggestion….

Love the pinwheel so far. We purchased this for our adult child with disabilities. She is thrilled to have a phone, and is using the available apps to help her develop more independence skills. She feels like all her peers, and we can keep her safe. Customer support when we needed help was prompt and solved our problem through the chat portal.

Pinwheel's tech and customer support is great. They are a startup company filling a gap in the phone experience that many parents want for their tweens and teens. Given that they are a startup, there has been some growing pains and glitches. However, because of the product experience offered, I am happy to be apart of the new growth. There have been a handful of glitches that we have experienced, but they were resolved right away with very attentive customer support. Wait times for customer support can be lengthy, but my problems are quickly resolved once I do have someone help me. Ralph Guevarra is an awesome employee who has helped me more than once.

I reached out for some help with our messenger app on our pinwheel phone. The service was so great! They were able to trouble shoot my issues so quick our phone is up and running as it should. I have such peach choosing this phone for our son! Thank you

Our pinwheel device messenger app stopped working. The website chat seems to be a hit and a miss, but the Facebook Messaging was rock solid. Problem was fixed in 30 mins tops. I will go to FB Messenger from now on.

The apps weren't loading easily but i just used the chat and Genn was able to load everything from her end easily and quickly.

I’m extremely please with our pinwheel experience thus far. I purchased 2 phones for my twins and good news! I was able to get both working with our AT&T service! (Which I knew going into it was iffy and had a backup option ready if it hadn’t worked). I’ve also had several minor items I needed help with that have all been promptly resolved by your extremely handy chat feature (this is SO helpful!!): —ended up with 4 cases for instead of 2 cases and 2 screen protectors (promptly resolved when I contacted sales) —camera icon not loaded in dock for one of the phones; IT was unable to resolve it on Saturday when I reached out but the next day it resolved itself on the phone and the icon appeared —time zone wrong on one of the phones and needed IT’s help to fix, which they did —I had a couple other items I contacted sales about when pondering our purchase and they were very helpful (I can’t recall what the questions were at this time). ***Basically, someone is there everyday at the click of a button to answer any questions I’ve had which has been amazing Overall, I’m so pleased I’ve already written a long glowing review on my facebook page because many of my friends have kids of similar ages and I wish someone had told me about Pinwheel sooner and saved me the months of searching and research 😊 I was also pleasantly surprised that the pinwheel service for the 2nd phone was discounted, which was wonderful! Thank you Pinwheel for making a TRUE kids phone!

Very exceptional customer service! Genn was super patient with me and offered some very helpful feedback to help me with my problem. The pinwheel phone is a great phone that blocks inappropriate content that would usually be on a regular phone. Adding apps is just as easy as adding apps on a regular phone but instead of having to add them in the google play store, I can just add them on my portal.

We had issues with my son receiving texts and all of his contacts in the messaging app just showed numbers. Did an online chat with Genn Garcia and it was resolved quickly.

Had issues opening Google maps, drive, duo and photos. Chatted with Genn Garcia and she fixed it. She was very helpful and friendly. So far pinwheel feels like it is in beta, especially the caregiver app, but I think it has potential!

This phone is the solution we have needed for years. Easy parental control dashboard, son likes that it looks and operates like regular smartphone, but he can't work around it like other parental control apps we have tried. EXCELLENT customer service, Very responsive. Can't recommend them enough! This mom is a happier mom and less stressed because of this phone.
