I rely on information that I sometimes can not find on other sites.

I want FindMyPast to improve; they have oceans of information records but their operating system does not achieve the outcome of obtaining relevant facts + transferring them to family tree(s); it become overburdened + duplicates persons on f. tree which cannot be easily removed; in plain English, I started searching on FMP personal events (births, deaths, marriages) with approx years; I subsequently had to obtain (thru family discuss) the exact dates etc (as FMP gave lots of options that did not fit my knowledge); today I entered the exact dates for (b/d/m) and FMP did not produce the relevant records for what I knew to be true (fact). As I cannot even remove duplicates of family members; I am not going to consider subscribing to FMP as I do not have the time needed to tackle the FMP system in addition to creating a family history for younger family members. breadth of sources I find the website has a breadth of sources but it takes a while to know where to find the facts and link them.

Easy to use, helpful hints, wide range of records to search.

Good range of Irish records

Search function is inefficient. For example, in my tree I have the birth location information, but when I "search on this person" I have to re-enter the location. If I do find a record that I want to save while searching for a specific person, I have to type in their name to add it to my tree, even though that was the person I was searching for. Can't narrow down the search by additional family members.

I like the website but have not renewed my subscription because I want a monthly subscription and not an annual payment. I do not always have the time anymore so taking a subscription for 1 month once in a while is better for me.

It's well laid out and a lot is free and not as pushy as my heritage

I much prefer Ancestry app and site,I find it more easier to navigate. I'll stick with this site for a little while to see how I get on with it.Ive tried adding photos to no avail, it's very frustrating

My success rate for info better with FindMyPast better than any other online genealogy site

I prefer the old style of showing results. I find the latest format too confusing.

everytime i login it takes about 5 mins to load each page never had this problem with any other programe

I find the site to be exciting and the more I use it and the more familiar I get with how it works the more rewarding it becomes. It is a little cumbersome to navigate but, no more so than other sites. Upgrading most certainly gives the extra information which I want as I seek to know more. As I prefer to have sight of original documents some of the transcripts are not satisfactory in my use of and building of my tree but, they are a building block to further research armed with the transcript particulars.

It gives me good hints to work with and then narrows them down 2 or 3 or 4. That's very inportant, I have been very pleased with what you have to provide. I'm 74 years old and I have being showing some of them how easy your sistm is to operate.

I use both Ancestry and Find My Past got family tree research. They both have strengths and weaknesses. Find My Past is a better programme for searching as it has more features than Ancestry, for example 1821 Census and newspapers. It is not as good at tree building.

The site is very difficult to use effectively. When one adds people or information about people, they often do not connect with family and one is left with several entries for the same person.
