Ireland | 24 July 2020A lot of my research is Ireland and there's not a lot

United States | 22 July 2020Charged my credit card right away. Every search said ZERO results even though I had exact information. Only info was from U.S. Census. Waste of money

Ireland | 01 May 2020Signed up in July 2018 for 1 year. Did not realise that I was by DEFAULT on autorenew - nice move eh? So another 1 year was automatically taken 12 months later. I only discovered this when I went to look at a new trial this month and discovered I had already been paying for this since last July! I am not able to delete my credit card details from their system either - there is no option for this you can only add an alternate card(!). You could argue that I should have read the fine print in my original registration but automatically putting people on auto-renew is dishonest in my opinion. I had to actively find the switch to turn off auto-review. Its not a customer-friendly move, its a revenue maximising move decided by someone in the company who does not have the long term reputation of the company in mind. Last point, this "feature" of no provision of a mechanism for removal of a credit card (as I do not trust the company not to charge me again) is really irritating. @Update: You can see the response from FindMyPast. I will use their "Contact Us" service and see where this goes

United States | 07 April 2020I initially chose the Plus program, which was adequate for my needs. When I checked out on the website, it automatically switched to the higher Pro Level. I contact support to correct this and the representative told me that the system provides a confirmation before money is taken. This was completely incorrect. The confirmation only appears after the account is charged and doesn’t allow any correction. Poor system and even poorer service. It seems improper for a business to automatically select the most expensive option, rather than allow the customer their choice. Findmypast basically told me tough luck, we already got your money. Buyer beware!

United States | 07 April 2020Great source for genealogy, especially if you are interested in Ireland and UK

United Kingdom | 07 April 2020Generally very good. A quibble would be that when a search date/s is put in it also brings up many references outside the selected timeframe. eg asking for +/- 5years can bring up scores of items outside the selected years. Very annoying and time consuming. Otherwise, pretty good

Ireland | 07 April 2020Not in the site long enough to give a thorough review. I seem to keep going back to the Irish Census 1901,11 and Irish Geneolgy.ie

Ireland | 30 March 2020VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND INFORMATION

Australia | 06 February 2020Buyer beware!! I have not used this service for over 12 months and do not have a subscription. However they have illegally debited my credit card for $206. When I contacted them to investigate they couldn’t tell me why? Just keep asking for my card number. My recommendation is to stay well away from this mob!!

Ireland | 15 August 2019Great site. The hints are very good and very useful and essential but sometimes I find them confusing (probably because there seem to be hundreds of John McGuires in Longford)

Ireland | 15 August 2019Find my Past makes it so easy to track your relatives and the information is excellent

Canada | 25 June 2019this site has more details on ancestry records than my own country does, which i guess shouldn’t be surprising since the u.k. is where my ancestors come from and has existed since way before my country (canada). i found details on my grandma’s family which i couldn't find at all before. so i am resubscribing! it’s expensive with the exchange rate but worth every penny.

Australia | 28 May 2019I joined with a belief that this sight had the best Irish ancestors, but have been a little disappointed at that as they seem to have nothing much more than other sites as far as actual finding people. For extra money an elevated subscription is available which offers a lot of military and news paper articles, but the births, marriages, and deaths are in the basic subscription and that is really the basic substance that is needed. I do understand about the lack of 19th century and prior records in Ireland so it is not all the lack of this site trying.

United States | 17 April 2019Easy to use website but remember a website is only as good as the info provided. There are very few older records provided. The price is a little costly.

Ireland | 05 April 2019Amazing. I was able to trace my ancestry definitely back to the early 1800’s, with a couple possibilities in the late 1700’s, further back than anyone else in my family has been able to go.

Ireland | 21 March 2019Good site but not enough records.
