United States | 07 February 2025Terrible Experience – They Deny Claims and Keep Your Money If I could give zero stars, I would. I filed a claim with First American Home Warranty for a repair, paid the required service fee upfront, and waited several days for a technician. When the technician finally arrived, he barely inspected the issue and, without a real evaluation, First American denied the claim, saying it wasn’t covered (they always find an excuse). The worst part? They kept my money. Even though they did absolutely nothing to fix the problem, they refused to refund the service fee I paid. I basically paid for a service that I never received. When I contacted customer service, all I got were generic responses, with no real effort to help or resolve the issue. This company is a scam. They make you believe they’ll protect your home, but when you actually need them, they deny your claim and take your money. Don’t waste your time or money with First American Home Warranty. There are much better companies that actually honor their policies.

United States | 07 February 2025I have had this policy since November and have yet to receive good customer service. My issue is an IT issue with registering my account. They don't have an issue taking my money and selling me away from my previous warranty company of 9 years that provided excellent customer service. All I need to reset a password to register my account and no one seems to have the capability to do that. This is a huge problem for me and the worse thing is I can't even speak to a manager to resolve. Poorest customer service I have ever dealt with by far. Resetting password is a common issue and to be dealing with this for four months is inexcusable .

United States | 05 February 2025This is the third or fourth time that contractors have replaced freon in the HVAC, so there is obviously a leak somewhere. Would it not be more cost effective to find the leak instead of replacing freon.

United States | 05 February 2025They replaced my washer. The only issue I had was the length of time to receive it. It was very expensive to drive 30 miles to a laundromat plus the cost of the washer (5.50). Granted they replaced the washer, I have 5 people in my home. Normally I do 2 loads a day, so to go without for over 2 weeks was hard. Trust me I am grateful for the new washer. That is why I keep the warranty company. I have had different complaints but First American is the best! Thank you.

United States | 04 February 2025Very Unprofessional company.I have had multiple bad interactions with them. I submitted a claim for my oven repair and they had to send 3 different contractor to my house, all of them unable to assist with repair or asking for an unreasonably high estimate to repair. Second, I submitted a claim to have my garage door fixed, they sent a contractor to fix it within almost two weeks, but they asked for $3,000 to fix just the spring and rollers, and the company denied my claim to cover the cost and did not give me a real reason as to why. So I had to get an outside contractor that only charged me $300 to fix it the same day. Very Unprofessional company that does not support their clients with their claims. Please do not waste your time with them.

United States | 04 February 2025The Service Contractor was quick to reach out and diagnosis the issue, locate and obtain the neccessary part and return and complete the repair. We would not hesitate to recommend them (VIP Appliance Service) to family and friends.

United States | 04 February 2025We have had a contract for 3 years and never had to use. We called for issues with our refrigerator and freezer. The first time the contractor did not show up or call. The second time when the contractor did show up we gave him a list of 4 items that were wrong, with the main one being, the freezer completely freezes up and then leaks. That issue never made it into the report. The handle not working did make it into the report. They quoted that this was abnormal use. Thus, denying the claim all together. I called and spoke to the agent and then the supervisor. She said there was nothing she could do. She said call our own contractor and then submit to them. I am very disappointed and will not renew my contract. 2/5/25: When I spoke to the supervisor, they never addressed the other two issues that were the main issues AND... What exactly is abnormal use of a freezer mean?

United States | 02 February 2025Water heater(state) problem. Called requested service. Sent someone to diagnose in about 3-4 days. Contractor diagnosed needed to be replaced. Said would send info to first American and sent up replacement. Waited and called as no one reached out. Was told that warranty covered some replacement but I had to pay modifications that the contractor advised of. Was told modification cost was $2700. Was told what that consisted of and I didn’t agree as the necessary pipe and lines including duct was already there as I have a power vent water heater. Found out they do cash in lieu of so I asked what that amount would be. They sent offer and I accepted. They offer covered mostly all new water heater. I found someone to install for $600 including modifications(75 gallon). Had to pay some outta pocket, but my main issue was with contractor saying it would be $2700 for the work I figured might cost about $600. First American said all that money was owed to contractor. They sent me a check in 5 days for the amount they stated. No issues with first American but contractor highly suspect. Glad they offer cash option.

United States | 02 February 2025TERRIBLE SERVICE. ALL THEY CAN SEEM TO DO IS GET A PROFESSIONAL TO ASSESS THE PROBLEM, BUT IT'S BEEN WEEKS WAITING FOR APPROVAL TO FIX THE PLUMBING PROBLEM. IN THE MEANTIME I HAD TO FIND A HANDYMAN TO RIG IT. THIS QUOTE INSURANCE IS WORTHLESS. WEEKS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO WASH DISHES DUE TO FLOODING AND PIPES THAT WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. I WOULD NEVER PAY FOR THIS COMPANY IN THE FUTURE.

United States | 01 February 2025I am being forced to use a company that is over 70 miles from my home, who is available only one day a week and will only give me a 21-hour notice before they arrive. I have to take day off of work for a repair that will take one hour. $95 dollar charge plus a day's pay or I have to waste a sick day this is BS. I will not be renewing my contract this year. I'll pick another company
