I have been a customer for almost 5 years and now considering canceling my plan. This is the second time I had an issue when placing a service ticket. The service is horrible and to be clear, I find it ridiculous when your customer service representative tell you either you bend to unreasonable contractor limitations or we can't help you.

I would give them 0 stars if possible. Every service call we made was an absolute mess. It would take several technicians and multiple service call payments. In the end, we usually did not save money by calling them. I am embarrassed to say that I stayed with them for 7 years because I was worried something big would happen and I would need them. Something big did happen with our water well. We paid extra to have our well covered. After a large service fee we found out the fine print excludes most of the problems that go wrong with the water well. Nothing ended up being covered and we were out of pocket over $2000. I finally decided to cancel and I found out they do not allow you to cancel online because they want you to speak with someone who tries to keep you from canceling. Finally they say I can cancel but I have to pay a cancelation fee! I have been with them for 7 years. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

On time, good customer service.

I kept pay for them over three years straight, and when i placed a claim to fix my refrigerator, no one came over for inspection. At the end it was a real scam company. I cancelled my policy. I just lost my money with them for nothing. I don’t advise anyone to join or stay either them. I wish i can sue them.

Repair company‘s technician was very courteous and professional

Called on a Sunday evening and got a return call from plumber on Monday to schedule appointment to come iut. First American promptly responded to my initial request and sent me the name of the plumbing company that would fix my plumbing problem

My ice maker stopped working and luckily, I have First American covering me. They sent an amazing local vendor to fix it. Rectified easily and efficiently. Very grateful!!

I was using it 2 years ago ,and today I find out the AC contractor they provide to me change their name 2 times in 2 years and I have my brand new ac units install with only 80%work done 2 years ago ,cause I have a duke energy guys come out a fews week ago and mention all the problem with my new unit,they did not install it correctly the first time,and I have to pay 5000 extra to install the unit as well,which they said replace for free when my old units can’t be fix,so avoid this company

I had used a different company for many years that had a similar name for my home warranty company and switched to First American about 2 years ago. I have to say that this company has 10 times better customer service than the last one. They are responsive and easy to get hold of if you need to talk to them. Plus the customer service reps are very knowledgeable. I haven't had any major problems with the contractors so far, so I would recommend First American.

Had to get my own contractor, yall couldn’t get one.

HVAC went out this summer in my home. Blower was leaking water, flooding our basement. Called for contractor to come out within 24 hours. Did not hear back from FAHW for 5 days. Requested to get a contractor out so that we did not have water damage, FAHW refused. FAHW also advised they don’t cover secondary damage, well knowing We would get some one out to fix the problem. REFUSED TO PAY CLAIM, FAILED TO GET CONTRACTOR OUT IN TIMELY MANNER, REFUSED TO ALLOW US TO GET A CONTRACTOR OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM!! *Forgot to add, FAHW asked that I cancel my claim since we took care of the problem ourselves. Customer service has different answers for different problems. Not a real structured or organized company. **Added after reply from FAHW*** Actually, FAHW, I was unable to talk with your team until we had fixed the flooding in our home ourselves! We continuously called FAHW, requested our own contractor we found ourselves when YOU could not! There was a delayed response from FAHW. FAHW failed to reply in a timely manner, FAHW failed to provide a contractor in a timely manner, FAHW, failed to provide a service promised to its customer!

The representative was very helpful in guiding me through the process to see if the leak was covered by my warranty. It was found to be so and I was scheduled for the first available day for a plumber to come out within 3 business days. The plumbing company actually came out sooner since they were in the area and it was fixed in even less time than was stated. Thank you.

Upon calling in a claim, I was informed that the system was experiencing a problem (understandable). However, I was promised a return/follow up. After 8 hours of my initial call, I had to call back in. I received an apology from the new agent for the failure to return my call on a critical issue I was experiencing.
