When a covered item unexpectedly stops working, we’re here to help with getting it working again. As a leader in the home warranty industry since 1984, you can count on the protection, experience and stability of First American Home Warranty. Appliances and home systems will eventually fail. It’s unavoidable. A home warranty offers you a renewable service contract you can use to protect systems in your home such as heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical, as well as major appliances like your dishwasher, oven, clothes washer/dryer, refrigerator, and more. With our home warranty protection, when a covered item breaks, we’ll send a pre-screened service contractor to your home to diagnose the issue. Many of our customers request service multiple times each year and save hundreds to thousands of dollars on repair and replacement costs. These types of mechanical failures are typically not covered by your homeowners insurance, so a home warranty can help bridge that gap in protection by shielding your budget from these sudden expenses. First American home Co. is fine, BUT the company they sent my work order to is bad. The company was Appliance Guard Pro, Inc. The top half of my dishwasher is still not working well. The work order number is 620414732. I have left 3 phone messages and going to email them next. I suggest you find a new appliance repair company. Wanda Barry 503 770 7047

Back in May we filed a claim. The dishwasher after every cycle leaves a brown/dusty residue all over the interior drum and on everything. After over 3 months and 5 technicians later the issue it is not solved. FAHW finally decided to replace the dishwasher----ALL pay attention your equipment will NOT be replaced with something equal in VALUE. Our dishwasher is a Monogram $2,400 (purchased in mid 2020) the proposed replacement "GE Energy Star" priced at $579!!!!!!! they claim to match capacity and features. We all understand that a monogram that retails for $2,400 it is not equal to a $579 appliance. So please if you have decent/expensive appliances don't waste your money. Months without a dishwasher only to receive an offer of a lesser quality.

the dryer was old and couldn't be repaired and FAHW gave us the option replacing with a comparable dryer or equivalent funds to purchase one of our choice , this is a great thing because we bought a new set to match. great option to have and will continue to be a customer for years.

Update after denial from First American on 9/27- why buy a home warranty when they will find a reason to deny it. I just bought this home under good faith that this warranty would help me if somewhat went wrong. This home warranty is worth nothing more than the paper it’s printed on. I can GUARANTEE I will NEVER use First American Title or home warranty ever again and I will make sure anyone that listens or cares hears about this. I have already told the mortgage company, the title company and realtors about this experience and the horrible service and length of time for you to respond. Extremely disappointing. Absolutely Horrible Service and unreliable. I am in Scottsdale AZ where it’s over 105 degrees. My main floor A/C went out 6 days after purchasing the home. I made a claim on the website and 4 days later on 9/11 the service company came out. They made a claim that day. I called the service repair company today, 9/24 to get an update. They said First American asked for more details and they sent in on 9/19. Nothing back. Today I called First American and they first said they never heard back from the contractor. Demanded a supervisor, she said they had reached out but doesnt appear I have coverage, even though my policy clearly states I do. Then they said they cant reach the contractor and have tried to call multiple times while I was on hold. Confirmed the number they were calling. I asked for the rep to hold, I called the contractor on my other phone, and surprise they picked up. Contractor said no they had not called. Another lie. First American then said the codes they sent in were incorrect. The contractor said there are no codes and started to laugh in disbelief. The First American rep then said the claim needs to be reviewed by management. In the meantime, I sit in 106 degrees with my two kids and no AC. HORRIBLE!! I have let my mortgage company know about this and the title company.

Waste of money. You will see if you stay long enough. You’re better off putting the money you spend here into savings. I just spent $15k to replace my 20 year old HVAC systems because they wouldn’t do what their own contractor advised.

I have been a long customer. Your increased support for the customer is pleasing. You have made the support companies more responsible for their response time, decreased the support companies' response time and increased the support companies' quality of work.

Well, after the claim payment I made, I have spent a month trying to get an very noise attic fan replaced and unfortunately it wont happen. The multiple calls I made trying to explain the unbearable noise that the fan makes it didn't do any good. The technician that they sent refused to replace it indicating that as long as the fan spins, it is considered operational; ridicules. The bad part is that this 3rd party contractor is telling me what is covered in the contract, he said the fan has to be dead to replace it. Never had any communication from First American about a declined claim and believed what the contractor technician told them, ignoring completely my complaint. My contract shows repair or replacement all attic fans - all parts. Avoid both First American Home Warranty and its contractor Compound Electric Corporation. Update: This is from email sent to me - reference Claim/Service Request 313988696 Work Order 620282690 Update: You are incorrect. I placed a claim for 2 attic fans. One not working and the other one with a very loud noise. The one not working was replaced but the one with the loud noise not. This fan cannot be operating under this condition and it needs to be either repaired or replaced. I interacted with 3 different people at First American in 3 different occasions when I called, and nothing has been done to correct the situation.

My refrigerator wasn't working properly and made an online claim and FAHW assigned it to the contractor Mr. Service. The contractor came out within a day or two and assessed it and then I didn't hear anything from either him nor FAHW. I had called at least 5 times or more. I never heard back from the contractor personally but FAHW ended up replacing my refrigerator which was nice even though I didn't think the part needed was all that expensive. I don't ever want Mr. Service assigned as my contractor.

Clothes Washer leaking. A Kenmore, so they sent out a Sears Tech. He arrived in 2 days and ordered the parts from Amazon to be shipped to me. He was to return when the parts arrived. In 3 days, the parts arrived. I notified Sears. 6 days later; I got an e-mail from Sears saying they needed parts. I said we had the parts. No return contact. I called First Home and they said Sears cancelled the order. FAHW said we could order our own repair for under $125. Taken 17 days. There is no real support from FAHW & NONE from Sears. Whirlpool made the washer, and more techs were available, but FAHW chose Sears.

When I called in for two different “service request” the agent creating the request for me COMPLETELY got the HVAC request wrong. We had to cancel and refund it. I was not aware it was wrong until the technician arrived. A waste of everyone’s time.

My wife and I called First American Home Warranty and opened a claim with them because our AC unit was not running. They assigned Zen Aire AC in Las Vegas. Two guys came out to our home and identified the problem. The guys told me that they would need to cut out a small area in the ceiling in order to get the "blower motor" out and replace it with a new one. Now, their telling my wife and I that they cannot do what they told me what they would do. I would suggest that they be honest from the onset. So, we'll have to find another business to fix our AC unit and will not be renewing our warranty with First American Home Warranty. Unfortunate.
