The worst company you can deal with. Just save your money and buy a brand new item when you need it... dealing with this isn't worth it. after 4 years of paying for this home warranty, I finally called to get service on my AC unit 09/09/2024. at first everything was great, they sent a tech for my AC which mentioned to my husband that the condenser was broken. 2 days later I got a text that a senior technician would re-assess and re-confirm what the first tech said. no one told me or my husband anything except that the condenser was broken and we needed to get it approved by FAHW. after 2 days I received a phone call from FAHW with a "funny" story about JD weld being used on the unit and that the AC company wasn't able to proceed. I asked for details and FAHW said they weren't able to send me the notes for the AC company and I would get an email instead. By Tuesday 09/17/24 my claimed was closed/completed. FAHW didn't even bother to give me any solutions or at least to have the decency to let me know that they had closed my claim. my husband called the same day to get it reopened which they said that they did. I just checked 09/19/24 on the website and of course my claim status remains as closed/completed and AC company won't even answer the phone. just stay away from this company.

First American provides an HVAC Tune Up for the furnace for $85.00, but the company that they picked for us JDR Home Services did not do the tune up but just checked to see if the heat went on which it did. They did replace the Aprilaire Water Panel Evaporator and the Air Filter, which they were to do. This was not a tune up at all, which I was present at. They did say that there was a small hole in the furnace and hot water heater vent pipes, which they said was leaking carbon monoxide. They did not test for carbon monoxide at all. They said that they would have to replace all of the vent piping, and that First American does not cover it, so that I would have to let them know immediately if they should order the piping. They also labeled that there was a carbon monoxide leak on the labels. This was false, since we have carbon monoxide detectors in the house. Additionally, it is easy to see that from the hot water heater that there is a 2-inch space between the hot water heater and the exhaust pipe, so any carbon monoxide would come from this place which is the standard of how exhaust pipes are put in. They then lit a cigarette lighter near the heater exhaust pipe. They then shut of the gas to both the furnace and the hot water heater and left. I told them that I would not order the piping, and that they would need to send the information to me and to First American. Which they did not do, until I contacted first American 3 days later, and First American then requested what was done. JDR then gave a report that they had done the HVAC tune up, but they hadn't done so, since I was there to see what they were doing. When I asked Frist American 3 days later and spoke to a supervisor, Mario, about this and said that JDR had not done the HVAC tune up even though they said that they had, he said that they would not do another one, but I could do it on my own. This is extremely poor coverage for a Home Warranty.

I need someone to repair my evaporative cooler in Boulder, and First American Home Warranty did not have a specialist to do so. They gave me the opportunity to use the technician that had previously worked on the unit. This happened smoothly and efficiently.

It is not the 1st time I have had issues with FAHW regarding a Service Request. Surprisingly with the same contractor Aqua-Brite Pool. I needed multiple service requests to resolve a simple issue and FAHW will require me to pay to address and complaint to fix the same problem. It seems that FAHW does not keep record of the request and doesn't advocate on the client's interest when dealing with this contractor. it is exhausting and frustrating to have issue revolve with FAHW.

Plumber was and old school knowledge worker. Customer service needs some help but I'll take a plumber with true skill over someone who is just nice.

With this company when I had a problem of a job not being completed. Their response was for me to contact the service provider. After several attempts to contact the contractor they sent out, the warranty company could still not help. Currently I have an ongoing claim for a separate issue with my AC. The warranty company sent one company out. That company replaced my thermostat. My thermostat went back out within 25 days, due to work and their limitations to get a person on the phone. The 30 day warranty on the part was now lost. They have sent out a new company, and told me it was nothing but my thermostat, took a picture of it and said that they would send it to the warranty company for approval. I had to laugh at the new AC company, because my son-in-law sent out his AC company for his personal and business use of the AC company. They said it was the thermostat and the motor for my compressor. NEW COMPANY NOW SAYS. NEW THERMOSTAT, NEW COMPRESSOR, AND CHARGING ME 50O MORE. 125.00 EACH. 1. To remove the compressor, 2. Rewiring the new compressor, 3. Copper reconfiguration,( I want all the scraps, no way its 125 bucks worth) 4. To add freon. Warranty fee for the year and 770.00 in 1 month and 1.5 weeks.

Company is a fraud. They only fix DIY stuff and charge you $85. These great reviews are people who can't do simple $15 fixes. If anything of major repair ie My HVAC they gave me $424.31 on an evaporator coil fix after the mix 407c with R22 and are wanting to charge me of $1000 out of pocket. We have the add on coverage for HVAC. Waste of time they will nickel and dime you out pocket to death. My system has multiple issues and needs replacing, but they want to charge me each visit and never fully cover ANYTHING! DO NOT GET TRICKED!!!

The WORST! Don't want to read all this? BRIEFLY, DON'T SUBSCRIBE, DON'T REGISTER, DON'T DO IT! With our latest repair trip (3 total) with another AWFUL repair company Axis Repair. The technician decided that he would recommend a replacement oven as the part is faulty and a hazard. 7 days later, with no oven for a total of 10 days and no call from FAHW or Axis. I finally called FAHW they said call AXIS. I called Axis, they said they decided they could repair it (which would be the 3rd repair for the same gas emitting mechanism) and placed an order 7 days after they came out for the part. CLEARLY, this part is faulty and keeps breaking. FAHW said that without the report from Axis to replace they could do nothing. Axis said that they recommended a repair but FAHW said that if the part is available to repair it. The FAHW told me in an email and on the phone that until the part is either unavailable or the appliance is unusable, they won't replace it. That implies that the oven needs to blow up due to the faulty gas emitter which has already been replaced 3X!

Wow, I had a plumber come and quote me $2500 to fix my plumbing, when I realized it was covered under FAHW. Called and they set someone up to come right away and that plumber fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Now my shower drains! There's been no problem since! I'm so relieved.

I have been with. first American home warranty for 3 years. Recently. I called them on 9/15/24 for a service request on my garage door. I explained to them exactly what happened that the cable on the left hand side broke. and that my garage door is out of its guides and sitting about one third of the way opened. They then connected me with a contractor. and I told the contractor exactly what was wrong with my garage door. and they told me that they would not be able to get out here until Friday. waking 5 days for a garage door repair. is unacceptable to me. Being the garage door is a third of the way open It is leaving my house totally unsecured. So I called American first back and told them that waiting 5 days was totally unacceptable. So at this time. they tell me that my cable is not warranted. Well, it doesn't say that in my plan. and it says exactly what is not covered. Remote transmitters. adjustments. doors. gates. and gate motors. Side rails, hinges and springs. But like I said, the cable is not listed As not being covered By the policy. so here again, you have another insurance company. Weaseling their way out of their warranty service. I suggest that you deal with somebody else for a. home warranty. I have looked this item up on eBay and you're only talking about a $30 item. And that's for two of them. So beware of this Home warranty company They will screw you any way they can to get your money and not honor their policy. This is to the reply of first American home warranties Reply to my complaint. They can say whatever they want to. to Weasel out of a claim. like they have done with me. And probably Thousands. of others who have home extended warranties through them. Now I have gotten my garage door fixed for $200. So they have lost a longtime customer over what would have cost them like $115. After I pay the $85 service fee charge. And I got it fixed the next day. Tuesday. the 20th of September. Now they Should and could list Exactly everything that is covered and everything that is not covered. but they don't do that. just for this purpose so they don't have to cover it. And I have talked to my bank about this problem and their practices. and my bank has started a claim against them to go back three months. and retrieve my payments of the last three months. So beings that I paid the $85 service fee. and the $160 I have paid them over the past three months. Looks like I come out ahead on this. by about $35. So people if you are dissatisfied. or think somebody has screwed you over. Go to your credit card company or your bank and dispute those charges if you can. It can't hurt to try. If everybody would dispute these charges. maybe these companies would stop screwing people over.
