United Kingdom | 28 September 2021The claim was delayed but this was not due to 4 Paws Pets insurance but due to the claim documents from the vets going awol in the post. Once 4Paws was alerted to this, it contacted the vets immediately to request a duplicate set. They had to contact the vets again as they were dragging their feet. Once 4Paws received them, the monies were quickly paid into my bank account direct. Claims staff were always polite and helpful.

United Kingdom | 28 September 2021At a very stressful time it was very easy to make the claim, and get Tilly well again. My only criticism was that we ended up having to pay the vetinary hospital about £40 which had been held back by the insurance company, but we are not sure why. That said a smooth process, and very happy with the service we received.

United Kingdom | 23 September 2021My Border terrier age 5 and a half had a brain tumour, she had radiotherapy in January 2021 and I wouldn’t have been able to do the treatment without 4 Paws, after a pre-authorisation they happily agreed to pay the costs directly to the vet specialist which was fantastic. I have the full cover and lifetime cover and they have since paid for another MRI in a new policy with no problem. They have been amazing on the phone with me when I thought the worst. My borders tumour has gone with treatment and I am so grateful because she wouldn’t be here now without it.

United Kingdom | 21 September 2021We have two Bernese Mountain dogs insured with 4Paws, one age 6years and a 17 month "Pup". The renewal costs this year have increased by 42% and when I questioned this massive increase I was informed "it is because they are Bernese "my annual premium for both dogs is now £1907-64. The older one was diagnosed by our local Vet to have cancer in 2 locations, her chest wall and rear leg and because my local vet had expressed concerns regarding the removal of the leg cancer we opted to take her to Noel Fitzpatricks as we felt that they have the expertise to repair any leg damage that could occur as a result of the removal of the leg tumour. On the assessment visit Fitzpatricks could not find cancer cells in the chest mass despite carrying out 8 needle aspirations of the area. This concerned them so it was agreed that this chest mass would be removed during the procedure to remove the leg cancer and this would allow them to visually inspect this mass in their lab. to determine the existence of cancer cells within it. This examination also indicated no cancer cells but to be 150% certain the mass was sent off to their external lad. who also concluded with their findings. My local vet is still claiming that this chest mass contains cancer cells and they have sent through a second report from their lab. which still maintains that this mass is cancerous. This report was sent to 4Paws. My claim was submitted for Fitzpatricks costs of £5931-99 and £193-50 for the initial work carried out by the local vet, a total of £6125-49. From this claim 4paws have deducted TWO excess amounts , 2 x £125-00, (a higher than normal excess because she is a Bernese ) because they claim there were two procedures carried out and a 15% deduction (£852-30 ) because she is a Bernese. When I pointed out that this 15% should only be applied when the dog is over 7 years I was informed that this 7 year has now been reduced, it is now applied at ZERO years, so from day one. When I protested that my policy clearly stated 7 years they directed me to a very small piece hidden in the small print of this years renewal documents which removed the 7 year clause and replace it with a zero age clause. I polity pointed out that as this effectively is a major change to the policy terms and conditions, it should have been highlighted in the renewal documents and not hidden/buried in the small print. So in conclusion, I am paying an elevated premiums because both dogs are Bernese, I have lost 15% of my claim, because she is Bernese and I have lost an additional £125-00 because 4Paws have decided that the one operation carried out a Fitzpatricks should be classed as two separate claims. If you noted that I gave 4Paws one star, I would have given them no stars but I needed to send this review. Nick Lawrence

United Kingdom | 17 September 2021From the start of our dog Shelby,s illnesss, the 4 paws insurance team have been fantastic. Our policy is a, For Life cover, and is duly needed as Shelby needs medication for the rest of her days. 4 paws have paid the insurance costs quickly and without any argument, which we are very grateful especially as we were upset and stressed at our best friend being poorly. This is our 2nd review in the last 3 years since Shelby,s illness, so again, we say a massive thanks to you guys. Anyone unsure of which insurance company to use, try 4 paws, outstanding honest people
