Avoid. Woeful customer service. I booked a car in April 2024 when still planning our trip from Australia. When picking the car up in August 2024 the customer representative in Dublin city needed to change my credit card details in order to process the booking. This required them to credit the original amount and deduct the same amount again. An agreement was then entered and prior to leaving she realised she had made a mistake and had only written that we were hiring the car for 1 day. She said she would make a note on the booking agreement that this was her error and was wrong and that the original hire period that we had booked was correct. The vehicle was returned clean, full of fuel and no damage and no issue was identified when the sixt rep accepted the vehicle return. Two days later my credit card was charged just over $800 AUD more than what was stated on the booking contract agreement. On 13 September a complaint was made to the customer service email of Sixt Ireland. Since that date this matter has not been resolved, I have received no updates from any person reviewing my complaint and I am still out of pocket approximately $825 AUD (on exchange from Euro). Whilst the vehicle was good, the challenges with pick up and the subsequent extra charges and lack of communication from Sixt Ireland means that I can not in good faith recommend this company to others.

hidden fees of 800euro aswell as told us about a scratch on the rear fender before we took the keys 2 months later charged 500 euro for it absolute terrible business with awful accountability stay away.

Absolutely shit show . We were one of the first ones out of arrivals with only two people in front of us. We waited 1hr 45Mins due to assistant having no clue what he was doing or charging people. All the other rental companies had longer ques after we arrived but they flew through there ques. We ended up being the last to leave Shannon airport. We got hit with stupid insurance cost . I fly home to Ireland regularly and I also book with avis and never have an issue only I ended up booking sixt by mistake this time . Never again . Im only home for a day and a half and they wasted two hours of my time and charged me a fortune on insurance. Trying to sell high insurance when there’s a cheaper option but they play stupid when you ask when there’s a cheaper options. The final gave me a cheaper option ….. stay clear . Waste of time and money this company

Horrible experience with lies about addressing the issue. Waited 1 hour to get my rental car. The initially said the car was sent to the terminal but then when I complained it took so long, they offered that it was earlier than my requested pick up time. When I finally did get the car, it had an awful rattling noise coming from underneath. As I drove back to the office, the representative and engineer insisted that cannot be until the engineer took it for a drive. Now well past my pick up time, I asked to speak with the manager, Sinead Long, who was rude and insisted it was not much later than my pick up time and would not listen to my complaint about the problem with the van. She stated she would have to speak with the engineer (who was still near by as had just driven the van) but she would call me. That was August 1 and it is now November 14 and no call. As I returned the van to the same location, the representative stated the manager was not available to speak with me. As I returned to the United States and called Sixt, they could only provide me a number for customer service in Dublin who has also yet to call me. They really do not care about customer service and anyone who has rented a large vehicle there knows you are paying premium money for horrible service.

Absolute scam artists. Arrived at Dublin airport after 30 hours flying and get fleeced with extra fees for God knows why but I just wanted to get out of there so paid them. The car was a lot smaller than what I paid for but wasn’t really that bothered. A week after returning the car, my card declines as they took an insane withdrawl from my credit card, no communication or explanation as to why (there can’t be a valid reason as I paid for full insurance on arrival). They shouldn’t be allowed to hold credit card details if this is how they abuse them.

We hired a car with sixt through a third party - the invoice stated that we had paid all taxes and charges however when we arrived to pick up the car in Central Boston (after a tiring transatlantic flight) the Sixt agent (who had very poor English) said we had to pay the charges and we asked about Tolls and she said it was €15 for the toll pass. We paid an extra $120 and left. Before our return to drop the car at Boston airport we checked our invoice and noted that we should not have had to pay the further charges AND the toll pass was $15 per DAY which was not indicated to us at the time. We spoke to the agent and he agreed that we would receive a 50% of refund of the toll charge (we only went through 1 toll) because it was our fault for not understanding the practically non-English speaking agent! we were in a hurry to catch a flight so agreed to these terms. He said it would be refunded back to our card - three months later we have not received the refund. I would not trust this car company or use them again.

Customer service and staff and pick-up and drop off were excellent. Fast and easy process and Dublin and Dublin Airport. Car was as requested and was in good condition. Inside of the windscreen was heavily filmy and I needed to clean to make driving safe. All charges were correct and holding deposit refunded promptly. Would happily rent from Sixt Ireland again.

Siden jeg er begyndt at booke direkte med Sixt, er det hele blevet meget nemmere. Har før prøvet at leje bil via diverse agenter, det blev jeg træt (og fattigere) af. Jeg har en rejseforsikring der dækker selvrisiko, så med Sixt's nemme booking, så er det billigt og bekvemt.

I was surprised but delighted to get such good service at Sixt South Dublin this week. I've rented so many cars across many years, mainly abroad, that I have a clinical and honestly a defensive attitude to the 'service' I'd expect to get. This experience was brilliant - a very good car at a reasonable price and none of the hard sell of extras that I had expected. Very refreshing and pleasing. Thanks and well done to the team there. The staff at Dublin Airport were polite and friendly to our family. The documents were written quickly. The explanation of the traffic rules in Ireland was helpful. The shuttle bus to the transfer station arrived in 5 minutes. The staff at the drop off point were helpful.

Really happy with Sixt. The car is exactly the one I reserved and they were very accommodating when I needed to extend the rental an extra day. The costs were also way lower than what I was quoted with the competition. Sixt will be my rental company of choice going forward

I'm renting a lot off cars for my work, and in the past i was always by a other company, but that they cancelled my reservation a serval times, Sixt is a very good company that do what you may expect, off course you will not get the car that you rent, but that logic in my opinion, moistly is even a better car.

I was very disappointed with my Rental this time . I ordered a five seater and at the reception they offered me an Up Grade. There was a Car for skinny Personen. The tyre pressure Lights was constantly going in. The Windscreen was dirty in the inside, very difficult to See When the sun shined. On top of all that a few days later i was charged again the full amount for the Car.,which was already Prepaid .So i really dont know whats Happening.

Best customer experience, they explained by detail all the rental, helpful on the picking up, quick on the drop off and no hidden fees after rental.. all was perfect as in the past with Sixt
