France | 12 October 2024Un service de location de voitures désastreux : - Avoir réservé sa voiture en avance en ligne afin de gagner du temps sur place pour au final attendre derrière ceux qui n’ont rien réservé et perdre un temps considérable. - Payer des frais supplémentaires exorbitants car j’ai moins de 25 ans, frais dont le montant n’est pas communiqué en avance lors de la réservation en ligne (et qui, pour notre part, a été bien plus élevé que le montant de la location en elle-même.) Le concept de ces frais supplémentaires est complètement absurde car j’ai 5 ans de permis et aucun malus avec mon assurance. Tandis qu’une personne qui a 25 ans et 2 mois de permis ne sera pas sujet à ces frais supplémentaires. Finalement, le service de location Sixt est une arnaque.

United Kingdom | 11 October 2024I’ve rented from Sixt Ireland multiple times and had a great experience every time. The staff are friendly and helpful and good cars. The customer service is also really responsive when I’ve emailed queries. For me paying to collect and drop at the airport is worth to get on the road quickly. I use my own annual car hire insurance policy as I travel often and keeps the cost down.

We have always found the staff at the collection desks so friendly and helpful, the cars are so clean, new and easy to add on child car seats through Sixt. On a few occasions we have had to extend the rental or change the airport for drop off and the customer service team have always been very helpful and prompt to make the changes. We look forward to continue renting with Sixt for our yearly trips to Ireland.

Canada | 06 October 2024Charlatans and scammers! I was charged for CDW and Theft Protection even though I specifically declined it. The lady at the counter was very smooth and chatty and explained all the local fees etc. When it came to optional coverages I told her I did not want CDW or TP as that was covered by my credit card. SIXT Dublin is paperless so your contract is on a screen. When it came to sign she never showed me the charges, just scrolled to the bottom and asked me to sign. I had no reason to doubt that anything was wrong. It wasn't until the next day when I opened the contract in my email and saw I was charged for CDW and TP... CAD$250.00 of unwanted charges!! I immediately contacted SIXT customer service who simply said that once a contract is signed it cannot be changed! So, even if you are jet lagged and tired from a long flight, always double check what you are signing for. ASIDE: Just to reinforce the charlatans that they are, section 8A of their rental agreement states, "CDW does not apply if an incident of Loss or Damage is not reported to Owners within 1 hour of occurrence." 1 hour!!! I will never use SIXT Dublin again and strongly recommend that you don't either.

France | 05 October 2024Good morning I am French. There was no help in the parking lot upon arrival. No one explained the vehicle to me. There is no check of the condition of the vehicle at departure, this is abnormal. The staff in the parking lot were not pleasant. The reception staff were very friendly. The average welcome return and no surprises on the condition. But a very mixed feeling for the service. Kind regards

And thankfully the staff at SIXT jumped through hoops to find us a car straight away, and we drove off within 30 minutes of leaving the other company that had mislead us with our planned vehicle rental. Thank you to the wonderful manager at the airport - she made the transaction smooth, looked after us, and it was simple to return the vehicle to her at the end of our trip. WELL DONE, SIXT!

New Zealand | 05 October 2024Two hires over summer 2024 from Dublin Airport. In both cases the car offered was a downgrade from the class reserved. Sixt will bait you with premium European vehicles as the type across all of their range, then provide you with a Japanese vehicle. They are more expensive and less flexible than the other hire companies. Disappointing experience as I use them in New Zealand regularly where the service and qualifty of vehicles is exceptional. Sixt Ireland are a stain on the Sixt brand.

United States | 05 October 2024We picked up our car at the Dublin Airport. We were an hour early so we waited a bit for our car, which I expected. The insurance situation was strange and very costly but I attributed that to being in another country. My only issue with check-in was since I reserved the car I was the primary driver and I would not brave the wrong side if the road so we had to pay for second driver. That was annoying. The car handled well and return was quick and easy.
