It was an extremely busy bank weekend when my plane arrived late in Dublin. As with any rental company, my original reservation was gone, but the service agents were SO kind and understanding, despite the long line of people ahead of me who were tired and frustrated. They immediately offered me an alternative, and when so didn’t think I could drive it they immediately suggested I look around with other companies to see if I could find a solution. Unfortunately, everyone was out of cars and the bus wasn’t an option. When I came back a half hour later, they were STILL kind and accommodating, even though the line hadn’t changed. They were so happy to give me the remaining car, and were super encouraging as well! I cannot say enough nice things about the service agents - they absolutely saved the day for me.

All prearranged through a broker here in the US. Picked up the car at the Dublin Airport early in the morning greeted by a vey friendly and helpful customer service agent. Car was of adequate size for two persons with luggage, clean, and very reliable. Drop-off was made very easy with the QR code link for Google Maps directions.

The Service was excellent. No Problems.

The agent at the rental counter was the best. We had endured plane delays and the pick up was at the end of a long journey from the US. The process of picking up the car was stress free, which made my day. The car was precisely as expected. The rental was trouble free, and the return process was smooth also.

Have been using Sixt quite often this year, and Dublin airport maybe 3-4 times. Always been treated excellent. Only remark I have is, more clear mark on priority desk. You don´t want to pass the queue when people stand in line, if your aimed desk is not clearly for priority bookings.

A mix of good and not-so-good experience. We booked a car from Sixt and paid for the insurance via rentalcars.com for pick-up at the airport. When we collected the keys at the airport, we had to take another insurance from Sixt as they didn't recognize the policy from rentalcars.com. Then we were told to take all of our luggage (3 oversized bags and 4 handcarries) to a van parked nearby to another place about 5-8 min away. We were told that if we had booked directly from Sixt, we were able to collect the car from the airport. However, when returning the car, the process was very smooth. It was over than less than 30 seconds. Kudos to the service team at the collection point!

Efficient and friendly staff at Shannon Airport Car as expected - clean and full tank Collection and return was easy. Price was also good - through Ryanair booking - certainly much cheaper than equivalent in UK.

Thoroughly professional and courteous staff. There with minimal delays with pick up and staff went out of their way to ensure we only paid the minimum required for comprehensive insurance. Drop off an ease. A big tick.

We hired a car through Sixt in Dublin and though we had to wait for a little while to pick it up due them being busy (early morning) we were impressed with the service and assistance provided by the staff member who served us and the car we were given which better than what we expected and had booked. We were also happy with the service and assistance provided by the staff member at the pick up and drop off point. We’d happily recommend Sixt for car hire in Dublin.

I think I can understand some of the bad reviews. However, my rental experience with the Dublin Airport location was perfect. I booked the car through Discover Cars and paid for the full insurance coverage. Everything went smoothly during pickup at Sixt. They gave me a free upgrade on the car which I later regretted. I had reserved a sedan and got a SUV. I don't recommend driving an SUV on the narrow windy roads of Ireland. They also tried to sell me their full insurance coverage despite that I already had coverage via Discover Cars. I politely declined. There were a few people behind me in line who had rented a car for pickup and were over an hour early. They were told to come back. I thought they could have been treated better. Later when I saw all the available rental cars in the garage, I wondered why they were turned away. When I learned they had a nearby offsite lot, I really wondered why there were no cars available for folks that were early. I had a minor parking lot mishap during the rental which I phoned in as an accident to the Sixt contact number. They handled it very professionally and communicated with me effectively. To my surprise, the extremely minor 3rd party damages were fully covered. There were no damages to the rental vehicle, so no worries for me. When I picked up the car, the rental vehicle was noticeably banged up. But that was documented in the lease agreement and I took photos before leaving the lot. As I learned as a first-time driver in Ireland, it is really easy to put your left side of the car in jeopardy of smashing into things. Returning the car was easy and there were no issues. My full security deposit of 1,500 euros was released within a week after my return. Also the extra 100 euros which they froze on my credit card to pay for tolls, etc. was documented in the final charges document that they sent me. Going through Discover Cars makes this a bit "tricky" due to the strange insurance coverage rules. But you can save a notable sum by doing so. I also did not take on the 2nd driver fees because it is very expensive. In some countries, there is no charge for a 2nd driver.

Quick pickup at the Shannon Airport. Insurance information presented was a bit confusing, seems like trying to upsell a bit. If you are from America, be sure to research what insurance overage is needed. Car was nice and clean. Brakes a bit touchy, and no rear view camera. Return was easy, just dropped it off in the lot and got on the plane home. Overall decent experience.

Hired a car in Dublin, Ireland airport and we had no problems. The car was dinged up but all the dings were picture-taken in the contract and we had no surprise fees. Easy pickup and drop off. Shuttle service was immediate

Absolutely superb experience. Great price. All arranged easily. Very helpful online support when having to change pick up time. Girl at the airport welcoming and very helpful. No hard sell of all the extras was welcome. Great car. Deposit returned within 16 hours. Great company will be first choice next time

I've used this company (the Marlborough Street in Dublin city) a number of times and they've always been brilliant. I will definitely rent from them again
