The salesman Mark Younger, was really helpful, he explained everything in full gave options and choices whilst not being pushy ! Highly rate this rep. I’ve never had a ŠKODA until now and love it, it’s great drive and nice shape SUV .

Initial good sales service but when there were a couple of mechanic issues with the car the communication to us was very poor. We had to chase constantly for updates which unfortunate spoilt the whole experience of buying a new car .

Having recently purchased a car from Richmond Motor Group at Portsmouth we were so happy through the whole purchasing process especially dealing with Joe Tudor. We were so impressed on how Joe came across as friendly and very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and concerns. We had been to many dealerships and found that they tried pushing us towards something we didn’t want with bold sale tactics, however with Joe and the MG group was anything but. It was a pleasure to have someone who let us decided what we wanted to buy by getting good knowledgeable information provided by Joe Tudor. Thank you .

Sept. 2023 - Received promotional material offering VIP customers finance deals on the purchase of a new vehicle. 28 Sept - Met with Orestis (Opi) from Sales who talked me through the finance deal. After consideration I informed Opi that I would not going ahead owing to the numerous problems I had had with my then vehicle which had also been purchased from Richmond. Opi was very understanding. 29 Sept - Received 4 phone calls from Opi's supervisor (D. Lett) - who has since left Richmond. During these phone calls I was NOT informed by him that the calls were being recorded. I was also having a particularly bad day owing to a recent bereavement. Times of calls were: 10:47 / 10:50 / 11:05 - informing me that he had found the perfect car (he took less than 4 mins. to find this vehicle) / 13:56. I was sure that during the calls I had asked about the car & that I was told that the vehicle had been purchased brand new from their dealership; serviced regularly; & had been used as a part exchange to purchase another brand-new car from Richmond. However, it appears that I was mistaken. But, because of the numerous problems I had had with my previous vehicle I know that I had asked about the subject vehicle’s history. I can only assume that instead I had these discussions on the day that I had the test drive, when D. Lett had come out of his office & introduced himself to me. (I later discovered that the vehicle had been a dealer trade.) 31 Oct - Before driving the vehicle away I asked for the service record book & was told that the book had been replaced with a digital record & that I would receive a copy that afternoon via email. Did not receive a copy until 6-Nov. Also no handover was given with regards to the vehicle’s controls, etc. Within 20 minutes 2 error messages appeared: ‘Check Forward Safety System’ & ‘Check Smart Cruise Control System’. I rang the dealership & spoke with Opi to explain what had happened. He spoke with D. Lett & I was told to bring the vehicle back on the following Thursday. I refused & instead drove straight back to the dealership. The Service Dept. reviewed the vehicle & I was informed that the vehicle had been plugged in & a few faults had been discovered. The problem MIGHT be a software one & that the manufacturer would be contacted for advice on how to proceed. I was, however, given a courtesy car and told to return on 3rd Nov. 1st Nov - sent emails to Opi & D. Lett asking for a full refund (Consumer Rights Act 2015) because as the car had developed faults within 20 minutes, I could only presume that the faults were present or developing when I made the purchase. I received no response. The Company states that they will give you a full refund within 7 days if you are not completely happy with your vehicle. I returned the courtesy car & met with D. Lett to ask for a refund and return of my previous vehicle: I was told "...that is not going to happen ….. ". I was then ushered into D. Lett's supervisor’s office (C. Bishop). I asked for a refund & was told that I should be more understanding - especially as he had authorized my having a hire car during the time when my previous vehicle had been at their Service Dept. for quite a while awaiting a part for the A/C! He then went on to say that on further inspection the vehicle’s radar was found to have been severely dislodged and that this would have been caused by me either going over a pothole or hitting a kerb! I replied that no such event(s) had happened & was told that I would not be able to prove otherwise. I also began to write down what was being said & was informed that writing anything down would not help me as I would not be able to prove what was being said. I was also not taken to the vehicle and shown this so-called damage which I was supposed to have caused. I again said that I no longer wished to keep the vehicle & was informed that the car could then stay at the dealership & I could ‘make my own way back’. I had no choice but to take the car - however, within a minute or two the tyre pressure warning light came on for 3 of the tyres. I again drove straight back; C. Bishop came out & told me to get in the car whilst he drove it around. I was told that there was nothing wrong with the car & that I was just trying to find faults. I was also told that each tyre pressure does not have to be the same & that things such as cold weather can affect the pressures! He would not allow for the tyres to be checked. I was left with no alternative but to drive the car away & buy a pump & inflate the tyres myself. Later found that the Hyundai BlueLink was (& still is) linked to the previous owner. So much for the 130-point check! From 4th Nov I followed the Company's Complaints Procedure(s) - but none of those I wrote to replied! However, C. Bishop did email me to say that he would refer me to their Legal Dept! My complaint is now with The Motor Ombundsman.

From start to finish the team have been great! From walking in the door, being offered a drink, to the salesman (Josh) being attentive and answering any question however silly, but not making me feel so, to Jack who kept me updated on the arrival of my new car. As a single mum, doing this for the first time on her own as a mobility customer, it was a very nervous experience made easy by the whole team. Thank you all so much!

David and the team in the Portsmouth body shop completed a quality fix to our car after we were hit from behind by a truck...all the while keeping us advised of what was necessary and how long it would take. Car now looks good as new, thanks

I felt really stressed buying a new car and my car was so unreliable I didn’t know what I wanted as a family car and soon as I walked into the branch Anelka was amazing, made the whole experience perfect and I left feeling happy, with all my questions answered, and a new car which ticked all the boxes for my new car.

After searching for a Hyundai i10 online for my daughter, I received an offer from Richmond Hyundai Portsmouth and met with Lewis this morning to discuss options on cars and finance. I must say it was a pleasure discussing options and choices with Lewis. It was relaxed, no high pressure sales approach and financial and car options were clearly outlined. The i10 Automatic didn’t quite have the performance, so I decided on a Hyundai i20 instead. It’s a great car and a big bonus was that it was in stock, in a choice of colours. I chose the1.0L turbo automatic in dragon red which looks stunning. I’m sure my daughter will love it!

Needed to up size our car so called in to Richmond Cars, Southampton to take a look at a Hyundai Tuscon. Harry discussed all our needs and requirements and showed us two suitable cars. Test drove one and decided to purchase. Process more involved than in years goneby, but Harry took us through each stage and made it all very easy for us. Delightful to be able to deal with such a helpful and pleasant sales person who is an asset to the company. Highly recommend having a chat with him if you are interested in a Hyundai.
