We have had some very terrible customer experiences in the past with a specific company. We initially registered our 3 person flat with Red Brick Bills (zero issues for two years) but unfortunately they were bought out and our account was taken over by Huddle and we had nothing but problems. Long story short, it took over 8 months to issue our final statements which were then incorrect. They initially tried to charge £170 PER TENANT in fees that we did not owe - going off ‘estimated’ meter readings because the smart meter THEY had installed didn’t function properly. THEIR words, not mine. Then, following our dispute of the outstanding fees, they tell us they will look into and resolve the error only for us to hear nothing for months on end until out of the blue they made unauthorised transactions to our accounts without informing us! Use literally ANY utilities company but these crooks! Despicable. This dispute is still ongoing almost a YEAR later!

United Kingdom | 08 March 2021Although I am trying to swap to a different electricity company for cheaper rates, I wanted to write a review because the customer service I have had whilst sorting out incorrect previous bills from the previous tenants and facilitating the switch has been brilliant. I’ve had the email of a guy called Joe who is consistently the person helping me out so I don’t have to explain from the beginning again each time. If they had cheaper rates, I’d be convinced to stay with them.

United Kingdom | 18 February 2021Student groups, don't even think about signing up to huddle. We tried to switch from them when we began our tenancy, however there were outstanding charges from before we switched which were astronomically high (nearly £100 for two weeks of electricity). We complained and called, complained and called, and eventually got the correct amount and an apology. By the time this was sorted, we still weren't able to switch to our new supplier as they continued to object, all the while charging us more for the electricity we HAD to use but couldn't get out of. The worst part is, after very phone call we thought we had it sorted, but the complete lack of communication between the employees showed, as we were promised one resolution, then sent an immediate payment order in the post a few days later, and with everything done over the phone, we had no proof on our side that a resolution had been made. Even after paying what we owed for July and August, in September they were still charging us for electricity and blocking our switch. We got told over the phone to ignore the next bill, which we did, and lo and behold, by January we are threatened again and charged with late payments. They are either the most disorganised company I have ever seen or take intentional advantage over student groups as a business plan, because this chaos was disgraceful. Instead of complaining AGAIN, we decided to pay them just so we could be done with them, but we have to say NEVER sign up to their services. Although we can probably own up to naivety on our part, their lack of understanding and continued mixed messages have made every correspondence a nightmare.
