However they did not communicate with the local water company and left it to us to have to sort out an account confusion so that we did not get charged for "not paying" our water bill even though we were paying huddle to do this. Further, the mark up on energy was significantly higher than competing companies. It was useful to able to pay bill individually, although there is a big charge for this service.

United Kingdom | 13 August 2020Overall my experience of huddle has been great, the ability to pay for bills separately is so good as it means you aren't dependent on housemates if they forget to pay. The staff are always super helpful when you ring up and try and sort any issues quickly. The only problem I've had with Huddle was last year we didn't get the money after the end of a contract we were owed until December (5 months after the contact ended) despite me ringing multiple times to chase them up.

In the first year we were charged an extra £400 in total after our contract ended through excessive gas use, after debating this cost we were told there may have been a gas leak but there’s nothing they could do about it. Due to this we thought we’d give them the benefit of the doubt and go with them again, this entire year I have had to call up 5 times in 12 months in order to get them to pay the water bill to welsh water as they haven’t been paid on time, this continuously affects my credit score and every time it ends up with an “apology”. They’re excessive in price and can’t seem to make a payment on time, I would heavily advise that you avoid them if you are looking for a hassle free way of living

United Kingdom | 12 August 2020For our final year of uni we decided we didn’t want the hassle of finding, comparing and organising a multitude of different companies for our bills. Huddle was perfect, giving us a hassle free year, due to their ‘all utilities in one bill’ system. Furthermore, they also allow you to opt in and out of all the individual utilities if you have found them cheaper somewhere else or, like us, the landlord was paying for one of the utilities. Another positive is Huddle’s no-liability group contracts. If one person falls behind on their payments it doesn’t affect the rest of the group - perfect if you have a flaky housemate or someone who isn’t always on top of sorting payments/blows through their student loans. The customer service was exceptional. They always get back to you within a couple of days and are prepared to fix any issues you do have. The whole experience was made super easy by the huddle app. It allows you to quickly give meter readings (which is super handy when you are someone that only ever remembers last minute). The final point that makes the huddle experience the best i’ve had concerning bills at uni is the money back system. At the end of the year if you have over paid on your bills you get it back! Unlike other companies which have fixed prices and limits.
