United States | 05 February 2025Do not buy from this company. There is no customer service. My wife's 3200 bike came with the wrong seat and tires. Additionally the fork and handlebars were loose. Although they did send me tires and a seat I paid 86.00 for it to be installed at their request. I was never reimbursed. You cannot reach anyone by phone. United States | 08 January 2025This company’s customer support has changed since we acquired 2 bikes in the fall of 2023. We have been trying to resolve issues for quite some time. You can no longer talk to someone in customer support. Email communication is unanswered. BTW they have a BBB rating of F. I will update my review, if they respond to our latest attempt to resolve issues with one of the two bikes purchased. Stand by.

United States | 26 September 2024First let me say that I really love my e-Bike X that I have had for three years...when it works! Trouble is, when the bike doesn't work it really doesn't work. In three years of ownership my bike has been in an EBC authorized e-bike repair shop almost six months. It's back in a different e-bike repair shop now, the original e-bike shop will not take in any EBC bikes because they are so fed up with the total lack of service and a willingness to take responsibility for anything related to their bikes. I have called so many times for a technical person to call me back with absolutely no response. I give the actual bike five stars, but if you don't live in California, which I do not, I give the company one star or less for service.

United States | 26 August 2024I purchased a custom built bike that was over $3k. The bike was supposed to take 6 weeks but took 3 months to complete. When I received it, it had 6 differences than the bike that I ordered. Different colors, different components and missing accessories. We called the customer service number every day with no response. Finally we chose the phone option to purchase a new bike and someone answered. They said that the parts that were supposed to be on my bike were out of stock so they just used other parts and shipped it without the accessories because they didn’t have them either. They promised a call back from the sales manager but no one ever called. Finally after 6 weeks of calling and emailing, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I sent an email telling them to please arrange to ship the bike back because I didn’t want it. I have no confidence that if anything would go wrong with the bike, it could ever get fixed. I can’t imagine this company will be in business long, treating customers as they do.

United States | 01 August 2024I really enjoy my bike, but dealing with EBC in any manner is like pulling teeth. After I was in an accident and needed some replacement parts it took nearly a month for the parts to ship and another two weeks to deliver despite them being listed as in stock when ordered. Customer service is generally difficult to get ahold of or doesn't have access to the information needed. In my several week quest to get my bike working again (it still isn't) I've had four ignored emails, seven calls not answered and three instances of online chat support just ghosting me after a few messages. All just to get some basic information on when a single replacement part would ship so I can repair the vehicle they sold me. This bike is my only vehicle and tipping it over once took it out of service for nearly six weeks which cost me a ton in additional transport due to that downtime. Given that the main reason I chose EBC was due to the availability of replacement parts for sale, seeing the reality of how much of a pain it is to actually get those parts from them is making me regret purchasing a bike from them regardless of the quality of the bike. I expect better service for a several thousand dollar product.

United States | 01 August 2024I ordered my bike online; fully customized colors and it looks great! Shipped in a box fully assembled to my home. Easy to inbox and adjust seat and handlebars. I did need to call the company to get past a message onscreen while trying to power up. Had to ask for sales since customer help lines didn’t answer. Sales re handled me quickly and in a friendly manner. Bought an accessory that I needed to install but there were no directions. Took some time to locate a YouTube how to vide but it would have helped if that link was identified inside the product box. Rides wonderfully. The second one I bought.

United States | 21 June 2024My Model S EBC has been a decent e-bike except for battery life, ebike battery replacement cost, and excessive shipping charges. EBC battery replacement cost is twice the cost of upgrading your battery during initial time of ordering product. I'm in the same West Coast shipping zone and frequently ship. Their shipping charges do not reflect the actual carrier shipping costs. My battery died prematurely (despite little use and did not meet expectations. I lost the battery case key and was quoted $175.00 to have a new lock installed by EBC. Fortunately, Temu offers ebike replacement cam lock for $2.39 with free shipping. Big picture, I'm not too impressed with EBC post-sale support.

United Kingdom | 15 June 2024I bought a bike very expensive bike from these guys it arrived with some damage looked like it was caused during transit.. I quickly reported it via their live chat channel and got an immediate response with a confirmation that they would get back to me soon .. they asked would I post some pictures detailing the damage which I did .. within approx 2 hours I received a call back saying to expect a call from my local branch which was approx 20 miles away at wilmslow .. within the hour I got the call confirming they had that model in stock and would be dropping it off as soon as I was available .. a big shout out to Andy from the branch he arrived within the hour during rush hour I might add .., he couldn’t do enough for me told me to ring and ask for him if I needed help or advice what a guy !!! .. I can honestly say it’s the best bit of customer service I have ever received absolutely stunned I was .. I cannot recommend this company enough .. outstanding service on another level

Not only did I get my full customized bike in 18 days but every inch is solidly made and I found zero flaws. I’ve ridden it for 4 decent “trips” and the battery never went down. Everyone in my family wants one now. I’m customizing one for my husband’s birthday today! Once he tried my bike he didn’t want to get back on his old one.

United States | 23 May 2024My husband and I purchased 2 bikes for $5000+. We followed directions for the battery care, but my battery died. When we called your company, you advised to send the battery back for repair. My model has the battery in the basket, and was quite a task to remove the battery since the wires needed to be fished through the body of the bike due to the location of the battery. We sent the battery back to be serviced at a shipping cost of $100+, and was told you would confirm once you received it. It's been 6 weeks, and after numerous calls and messages left, we were able to connect with one associate who confirmed receipt of the battery, and would call us back on the status. A week later no call back. No email confirming receipt of our battery. No work order. Nothing. This company was happy to take our money and sell us the bikes, but appears to be scamming us on the repair. What legitimate operation doesn't even provide written confirmation, or a work order reference?? Extremely disappointed and now we're stuck with an expensive bike that is not operational with no solution in sight or accountability by the manufacturer.

United States | 23 May 2024I ordered a custom model R bike 3/23/24 via phone with a sales guy from their store in CA. I was told I would have the bike in 23 days by the sales guy and the email receipt. I tried calling multiple times and constantly got a voicemail with no returned call. I did get through twice just to be hung up on. I tried calling and texting the sales guy with no response. After 8 weeks I had my credit card company reverse the charge. Other than advertisement emails I never heard from this company after giving them my money. The following after week after canceling, a shipping company tries contacting me. 2 days later I get an email saying the bike is on the way by Mike Canakie, sales manager. I emailed him a summary of the above. The response I shouldn’t have been surprised to get was “ok we will turn the bike around thanks”. No apology, explanation for no communication, for the bike being almost 5 weeks past the date I was given. Nothing! I feel like a dodged a bullet. It would have been so easy to communicate and change my mind. I’m glad they didn’t. Be warned people! I read multiple similar complaints on their Facebook page before they went in a deleted all the comments.

Would probably be less upset if the initial estimate completion date was actually accurate, but no communication after they take thousands of dollars from you. 'Blake' in Live Chat who I'm sure is probably ten different people tells you that your bike will be done this week, then next week, then next week (at the latest of course). Doesn't stop them from continuing to take orders for more and more bikes online. No communication, and order status info on website is completely meaningless. Resets every week and then says your bike will be done on the May 1st, but it's already May 15th.

United States | 01 May 2024I could not be more frustrated with my EBC bike. All the introductory material says that you should charge your battery every 2-3 months. Which I did. But then my battery went into sleep mode, which apparently can happen if you don't charge the battery for just a couple weeks. What is the solution? Get a separate charger that costs $200+. I didn't have that money, when I finally did about 6 months later, it didn't work. Upon calling the service line I was told in a very cavalier manner that there are now dead cells and I would need a new battery. I have MANY batteries in drones, high end cameras, and other equipment. None of those batteries behave in this matter, and it renders this very expensive piece of equipment almost useless. Please look elsewhere, this is not the place to get your e-bike.

United States | 07 March 2024The customer support at Electric Bike Company is great. After ordering my Model R online, I had to contact EBC a couple times with a few questions. I talked with a sales representative as well as using the online chat. They solved my issues quickly and provided updates along the way. The Model R is super comfortable and solidly built. It’s a smooth riding cruiser that looks awesome. Exceptional quality for a fair price. This is my fourth e-bike and definitely my favorite!
