TERRIBLE ON CLAIM NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANY MONEY OUT OF THEM THEY LOOK FOR ANY EXCUSE TO VOID THE CLAIM LOTS OF CONDITIONS THAT CAN CANCEL WHOLE CLAIM. LIKE I SAID VERY EASY ON THE MONEY BUT WHEN YOU NEED THEM FOR CLAIM VERY VERY GOOD LUCK TO YOU. FOR ALL THESE COMPLICATIONS AND CLAIMS CANCELLATION TRICKS AND CONDITIONS THEY SHOULD CHARGE £10 A MONTH DIRECT DEBIT AND ALSO BE AWARE YOUR EXCESS IS £150 PLUS THE 20% OF THE BILL WHICH I HAD NO IDEA (SMALL PRINT TRICK YOU CANT EVEN SEE SUCH LINE BUT HIDDEN WORDS YOU SEE AFTER 100 TIMES IF YOU READ THEIR T&C BOLSHIT) SO SAY YOUR DOG HAD OP £10K MEANS YOU HAVE TO COUGH UP FRONT £2200 IN 3 DAYS OR YOUR WHOLE CLAIM IS DOWN THE SEWER WITH THE FORMS AND ALL THAT BOLSHITS.

So much so that I’ve just bought a second lab and didn’t look at any other insurers just insured her straight away with healthy pets. I can’t fault them .

No claims were made under the policy and the dog is only 4 years old. Healthy Pets have a habit of only sending out the renewal so that it reaches you only a few days before its due, giving you little time to shop around.

United Kingdom | 15 September 2023No idea what has happened with this company but it has gone from an easy claim paid out within days to 5 weeks and still no payment. My cat has renal failure and hyperthyroidism which I have been claiming for for 3 years and the past 6 months has been dreadful for payment. Numerous phone calls with no payment date. I can't move company as she has these pre existing illnesses. Would not recommend. Use Animal Friends instead which I use for another of my cats and get payment the day after treatment Update 22/09/2023 after this review I had a call from a lovely person who confirmed a complaint had been raised. I have my claims settled and the money finally in my account a few days later and also had my complaint upheld. Thank you for sorting so quickly. it shouldn't take a negative review for issues to be resolved but I'm happy it is finally sorted out, thank you.

United Kingdom | 14 September 2023An absolute disgrace!! We had to put our beloved Tyke down last week, incurring considerable expense in the few days running up to the day due to seizures. Chasing his claim and advising HP of his demise, we were told that we still have to pay his premiums up to March next year when it's due for renewal. WTAF BS is this??? It doesn't happen to humans and shouldn't happen to pets. We're homeless and living in a borrowed caravan and are struggling for every penny to can acquire and retain. Disgraceful!!

United Kingdom | 09 September 2023Healthy Pets always helpful if. You ring them to discuss policy/renewal. Had a quote for renewal, and I checked it was cheaper to get a fresh policy (lifetime, no pre-existing conditions yet, luckily) offering lifetime coverage (future-proofing new conditions). They held my quote and I checked in price comparison websites. Compare the market had exact same policy so I tried to purchase that. A few computer system gremlins at their end but they politely and patiently sorted it over the phone. If you pay by monthly it is no more expensive than annually. NB renewed (started fresh equivalent) policy 11 days before other one expires to have full policy cover at all times. If had renewed would have been covered, but a new policy has a 10 day caveat for illness and 48 hrs for accident. Still saving when though starting policy 11 days before existing one expires. Very happy, they are a good company that responds quickly in the event of a trip to the vets etc,which is what is needed. If it ain't broken don't fix it. PS. With this policy, after the fixed excess for any new condition (£125) there are no extra fees ie no 20% of the bill left to me to pay. Would you want to pay 20% of a £800+ bill on top of an excess? Me neither!!
