Healthy Pets Insurance was founded in 1996 by Mark Effenberg, as Chief Executive of a pet-loving business insuring the UK's cats and dogs. Today, Healthy Pets, which was founded before Google, is an established participant in the £1 billion-plus UK pet insurance market. HEALTHY PETS is a joke Really not one star only because company were good at taking money, 11 years loyal customer NO claims when my little girl needed help they were not there because of her age 11 years old they deducted money and then asked for rest of year premiums so got nothing please be aware this company is no good.

First time i made a claim for my cat marmalade. They paid me just under £600 of what was almost a thousand pound vet fee. I was told by one of their advisors that brcause it was my first time claim that i would not have to pay the access. A bit dussapointed that i had to fimd almost £400 to complete treatment.

I have been with Healthy Pets for nearly 12 years, aside from the current claim, I have only made one minor claim 5 years ago. I had to have some major surgery for my dog costing £1500. I put this on a credit card thinking the claim would be finalised before interest kicked in. The claim took around 2 months to be paid and then it was not correct. I was charged 3 x £125 of excess. When I queried it I was told there was an error and I would be given a refund of £125 for one of the extra excesses. Even though all the surgery was done at same time, they have charged as separate ailments. I received £100!!! I try to ring and can never get through to anyone, waiting for a long time before giving up. I have tried email and get no response, although today I got a response telling me to ring customer services. The same customer services that you can’t get through to!!! As a loyal customer, I would have hoped to have been treated better. In these stressful times, people do not have spare money. I incurred the interest on credit card. Tried to ask for a break down of what I’d been paid but person did not understand what I was asking for so I gave up. Terrible service Thank you for your reply, however I have already emailed customer services who replied after a week, telling me to call customer services. I am not able to get through via the phone.

I have used Healthy Paws for the past 4 years on my rescue dog, Cooper. Unfortunately, he had many major medical issues and had many serious procedures. I had the 90% reimbursement plan which gave me significant piece of mind when I would have to take Cooper to the emergency vet every time he was sick. They reimbursed me within 7-10 days and communicated quickly regarding each claim. I can not express my gratitude for Healthy Paws and their coverage. It is the best investment you can make for your best friend.

Renewal quote was unfortunately higher. Called to discuss ways to reduce this. Easy to get through on the phone. Provided a quote for a new policy rather than a renewal as discount available on new policies. Got competitive price and set it up for me there and then. Easy to resolve issue. Friendly staff. Shame renewal price wasn't more competitive.
