United Kingdom | 06 September 2024Very Friendly and attentive staff and they have a great selection of cars, we were offered a very fair part exchange price, and drove away happy in our new BMW a couple of days after viewing it. Would recommend

United Kingdom | 03 August 2024I purchased my used Audi A3 Sportback from Redgate Lodge after I lost out on a BMW I really wanted. This car however is a great alternative and the team at Redgate have been a pleasure to deal with. Both in sales and in the Bosch service center. The car developed a fault but this was remedied with no quibbles. I have marked down because taking the car back and then collecting it cost me 2 days plus I had to pay for fuel. Also there is a bad rip on the A pillar trim which I believe should have been repaired pre sale. I will however re-emphasize these guys are a brilliant car dealership and I would highly recommend to any one looking for a used prestige vehicle. I would definetley use again

United Kingdom | 18 July 2024After an initial online enquiry about buying my car I was contacted promptly by Steve requesting the full details and photos a fair price was agreed which was substantially more than the part ex valuation from the garage I was buying my new car from and an appointment made to take the car to them. On arrival I was greeted in a friendly manner by the reception staff and Steve who had a look around the car and took it for a drive and was happy with the description that I had given him previously. He then set about getting the remaining finance paid off and the balance transferred immediately into my bank £100 was held back as I was still waiting for the V5 coming back after removing my cherished plate once I had received the V5 and dropped it into them the remaining £100 was transferred straight into my bank. Overall the process was effortless and would be more than happy to deal with them again.

United Kingdom | 16 July 2024We placed a holding deposit on a BMW 530d GT reg number YB63YON with Andy at Redgate Lodge over the phone. It was a 3 hour drive each way for us so before making the journey I asked "was there anything I needed to know as I had been lied to prior and didn't want a wasted journey" I was told it's 10 years old so expect a few age related marks but otherwise it's a lovely car. This is a £14000 car so still a lot of money but of course that's to be expected on a car of that age. I have given one star because the weather was appalling on arrival and the car had been leathered down and left in the valet bay for us to view, that for me is a massive tick in the box, Andy was busy on our arrival but we were seen by someone else who kindly made us a coffee, again a nice touch. Sadly that's were it stopped. We were left to view the car on our own which we much prefer and it was well presented, a good valet had been done but we noticed the bonnet was out of line, it wasn't a major concern as we mentioned this and was told it would be adjusted to correct the issue. Our main concern was the large glass panoramic sunroof wasn't working. We pointed this out to Andy who was now available and he went to see his manager about it. On return he told us that it doesn't work and never will as the mechanism had been removed as it would cost £2500 to repair. The opening section didn't even sit flush so stuck up at one end. You can imagine our shock at this. He said "I've checked the advert and it's says "panoramic sunroof", it doesn't say it's an opening roof!!! What an absolute waste of a day off work and of £60 worth of diesel. This information was clearly held back hoping we wouldn't notice it didn't work as they obviously didn't point this out and had no intention of doing so. So disappointing after a good start to buying what otherwise was a beautiful car. I'm sure Redgate will read this so I ask as a gesture of good will you reimburse our fuel cost of £60. Let's see if you can come good on this at least. Edit: In response to your reply. How many people do you honestly think would realise from your advert that the roof doesn't open? It's a ridiculous thing to say to be fair. If that is how you word your advert with regards to opening/non opening panoramic roofs that's fine but in the case of you selling a vehicle with a faulty roof this should be clearly stated so the potential buyer can make a judged decision prior to travelling. What about the fact it wasn't even shut flush! As for asking Andy, clearly we weren't aware because your advert didn't state the roof was faulty and locked shut, after we discovered this we did ask Andy, he claimed he didn't know and went off to ask a manager, so asking Andy prior to travelling would have gained nothing. We will leave it there, I'm sure people are clever enough to read in-between the lines from your response. Potential customers, please read VERY carefully prior to travelling to this dealer.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024Further to my review below more information has come to light I paid the ‘preparation free’ when signing for the car which i was told encompassed a full service. Also told the car would be fully serviced on at least one other occasion prior to me collecting the vehicle. Due to the issues I've had; I decided to check the basic elements of a car service in my vehicle - notably the pollen filter and engine air filter - both were incredibly heavily soiled and had not been changed in years. Video and photographic evidence available should anyone wish to see it on my facebook profile. This showed me that the most cheapest, basic and easily replaced aspects of a service were not done by Redgate lodge. I paid a preparation fee for nothing, a service package for nothing. The rest of the service is highly unlikely to have been done. Do not trust this garage. Anyone who has bought a vehicle from them - check these basic aspects of your vehicle - youtube will show you where to find them in your car. I bet you a penny they haven’t been done.

United Kingdom | 08 May 2024I bought a car with only 44k miles and after only 3 months the turbo broke and had to be replaced. When the car was purchased, the oil was changed and only after 2 and a half months the car ran out of oil. The car was bought from agent Andy. I tried to contact him but no answer. I do not recommend this dealership. They are scammers. Even don’t answer at the phone or e-mail.

United Kingdom | 15 April 2024We sold our used BMW X1 to Redgate Lodge. Our contact was Steve Revell. Our vehicle was in A1 perfect condition and we had owned it for 10 years so it was a sound purchase on his part. He paid a fair price. Turned up when he said he would and transferred the money to our account before the car left the drive. He also did an instant "in trade" notification to DVLA at the same time. He accepted the car with our winter wheels fitted and swapped over to the summer tyres. He then brought the winters back a few days later as agreed. I think possibly we could have got £300 more by selling via Motorway , but a bit more hassle and less convenience.

United Kingdom | 03 February 2024From start to finish, the sale of my car with Kenny Whyte was effortless . Got very fare price ,and he didn't try and chip away at agreed sale price. Can't recommend this garage enough. His prep guy Steven Revell who inspected & test drove my car was equally as professional and polite . Transfer was done in minutes ,and money was put straight into my account. I'd 100% recommend Redgate Lodge and their team no question.

United Kingdom | 30 January 2024Dealt with Steve for the purchase of my Focus ST-3. Quick payments and a fair price. ACV agent collected/appraised and delivered car to Redgate Lodge from Ayrshire. All very smooth; would certainly use again.

United Kingdom | 12 January 2024Sadly bought car from redgate lodge nothing but problems from the start took it back for repair 5 times then it let me down again had enough had to get rid of it they ignored email and didn't return phone call so if you don't want to be dissatisfied and feeling ripped off don't buy from redgate lodge

United Kingdom | 17 December 2023As a first time buyer through finance I was nervous and didn't have a clue what to expect. Andy was absolutely brilliant and made sure everything was explained to me in simple terms that didn't leave me scratching my head. I enquired about the car on Thursday and collected Saturday. Andy made sure to explain what would happen on collection, and that was exactly what happened. There were no sneaky additional fees or unwanted surprises. The car itself has been finished both inside and out to a fantastic standard. The body shop team have done a superb job bringing a, "straight out the showroom" feel to the car.... being an 8yr old Rav4, it could easily pass as a newer model. Redgate lodge is precisely what I would hope for in a car dealership!! In the future when I am needing another car I know where I'll be headed!! Thank you to Andy and the team at Redgate Lodge for helping me through this process so easily and making it stress free!! Specially this close to Christmas. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Sarah S.

Hi
United Kingdom | 11 December 2023My son purchased a car from here back in February in March he had problems with car going into limp mode returned to garage they said it was fine after switching off dashboard lights again car did same a few months later again they said it was fine then again it happened so again took car in and they said it was the turbo which they went on to replace fortunately covered by a warranty collected car and ten minutes down the road did it again so took the car into the VW dealership and they told me that Redgate had mis diagnosed the fault and it was a pipe on the underside of the car that was split and that was the problem I rang Redgate and spoke to the service manager called Lee he was very nice but said Redgate was not prepared to compensate my son for there mistake even though he agreed with alot of what I said but stated it was not Redgates policy and his hands were tied so it’s a shame as I would now never use this garage again as obviously there mechanics need to be retrained as the pipe was missed when they had the car on ramp which would have been hard to miss I would advise anyone to stay clear of the service department until the employ mechanics who know what they are doing

United Kingdom | 03 December 2023Having paid for a Audi Q5 and extra for a Ceramic coating to be applied to protect the paint work.....on arrival the car was heavily scratched and the coating looked like it had been applied via a 5 inch brush thus encasing all the scratches under this coating....dried polish was floating under the said coating. Polish was smeared across the windscreen ATTENTION to DETAIL was zero on pointing this out to the sales person all he said was you can have your money back....END OF......The vehicle looked like it had been removed from sale the day after obviously due to the state that had been done to it....

United Kingdom | 28 November 2023Just sold my car with Redgate Lodge, excellent service, easy to get an on line valuation, quickly followed up with a call from Steve. I sent some photos through on Whats App, and we agreed a price I was happy with. Collection was quick and easy too, would highly recommend.

United Kingdom | 17 November 2023Initially all seemed good. The website said that they would collect you from the station or provide you with accommodation. This was not true there was no accommodation and when asked if I could collect my car on a Friday was told no Saturday only, so can I be collected from the station.. no we only have one sales person in on a Saturday so no taxi from Newcastle station £35. Arrived for car front badge had no black paint on all chipped car was dirty. Sold a plan for use incase the car went wrong, this was not worth the paper it was wrote on. Found out car was sold with service from 7 months previous, saying it was sat till Jan when bought?. Bad experience would never use again.

United Kingdom | 31 October 2023Well, what can I say? I've been looking for a Kia Sedona for a while and saw the one I've just purchased on a web site . How happy am I to have purchased such an honest and well reviewed car by Lee the salesman and help from will when I went to pick it up. It was a 600 mile round trip and worth every mile driven ,great service I couldn't of had it any easier so great job guys and hats off to everyone involved!! I'd recommend redgate lodge car sales to anyone 😊

United Kingdom | 27 October 2023I’d been putting off buying a new used car for some time - I didn’t want the faff - but saw a Seat mii on Redgate Lodge’s website that looked pretty good and took the plunge. It was surprising and refreshing for the whole business of making the part/ex purchase to be made so stress free and quick. This was down to the firm being trustworthy and efficient and the salesperson, Lee, being helpful, friendly, straightforward, and not pushy. Looking forward, I’m expecting services and repair to be at the same standard.
