Purchased a car last week. I can’t fault the guys there. Stew was incredibly helpful, and nothing was too much from start to finish. Would thoroughly recommend. Paul Curry

Saw an advert on Facebook, saying we can often beat We Buy Any Car on price, been in twice, 1st time obviously not interested in the car - told me about some Autotrader rating - just left, 2nd time I met all criteria, and price offered was 2k less than We Buy Any Car - then said we would sell your car for £31k - on driving out, seen a 2yr older model (much worse model) with more miles for £31k - got told to go and take We buy Any Cars money - If these Auto Trader Rating are so important - maybe display them on screen, Tries twice, would not go back.

Won’t honour website advertising ie, hotel stay, collection from train station etc etc! Try to always add more to package and won’t negotiate…..then ask for 5 star review! Failed MOT and put very cheap tyres on car

Purchased my 3rd car from Redgate this week and wouldn't go anywhere else, very friendly, professional, no pushy salesman and cars are very good quality and fairly priced.

Purchased a BMW from here. Brilliant service from start to finish from these guys, I really cant rate them enough. Great service from Sam, Stew and Rob. Pre-sales and after-sales service has been excellent in my opinion, both knowledgeable and helpful and not pushy. I'd recommend Redgate Lodge to anyone.

Bought a BMW 2 series around 5 months ago and regret to say I found my car in a similar state as some other reviewers. To paraphrase another review, "on the surface it looked fine but dig a bit deeper,,," To be fair to Redgate Lodge, initial problems were dealt with fairly and politely (undeclared damage to interior panel, dash hanging down loose and rattling, over 60 fault codes). But it wasnt until a month ago that I realised this was just the beginning; 1. Windscreen washer kept draining. Garage found it was due to a heath robinson job on one of the telescopic headlight washers, requiring complete replacement. 2. Wheel nuts welded on and severe corrosion on all 4 wheels requiring them to be drilled out and new bolts fitted. 3. Seized track rod ends requiring garage fix. 4. Wheels so badly misaligned they were fangerously almost off the scale requiring realignment. If you add in the very poor prep of the vehicle (hadnt even been vacuumed properly with food debris) I am overall gutted. I am a military pensioner and this car was supposed to be my pride and joy but frankly its been a nightmare. I have had to spend almost a thousand pounds getting it all sorted which I can ill afford. Its a shame I have had to write this as Stu is a lovely guy; but if Redgate makes a big play for the quality of its Bosch service and car prepping on their website, then they have to back this up. I regret to say I cannot recommend this company due to the amount of money I have had to pay to fix problems that should not be there.

Started the process of buying a BMW 4 Series. All seemed well. I placed a £200 holding deposit over the phone and agreed and signed to a finance deal. I rang my finance company for settlement letter I am with currently and they said they could finance the new car for £50! cheaper a month. So I rang back Redgate Lodge to explain this and they said they won’t allow me to use my own finance company. I can’t see any reason for this as the garage still get paid regardless who the money is from! They then went on to say my finance company were lying about the quote to get my business. I decided to pull out of the deal and look elsewhere to save the £50 a month. The car was also advertised as having the M Performance body kit on and after further inspection the car hasn’t got the M Performance rear diffuser fitted! Redgate lodge are now saying they wont refund my £200 initial holding fee as it is stated on website it is only refundable within 24 hours yet I paid the holding fee over the phone and was never told this! To further matters the only documents I signed were from the finance company, I never received or signed any car order purchase form from Redgate lodge (despite the salesman saying i did) that stated my £200 wouldn’t be refunded if I pulled out of the deal. Miss treating customers and telling bare faced lies yet accusing other people of lying about quotes pretty laughable. Liam

My 59 plate BMW needed an MOT and also there was an issue with the windscreen washer. I believed the filter was blocked, as it is common on that car. I had left it until the last minute to get this done, and fully expected to be told I’d have to wait. Rang Redgate Lodge, booked it in quickly, they agreed with my diagnosis that it was probably the filter, and said they would attempt to clean the filter before replacing it as usually the filter is ok. I’m sure other garages would have charged for a new filter regardless. Sure enough, was a blocked filter, all sorted and MOT carried out fine. I couldn’t get to pick up the car, but service isn’t open on a weekend but that was fine, they said they’d leave the paperwork and keys with the car sales side of the business. Sure enough, keys and paperwork there, all done. Staff were friendly and helpful, had plenty of time to discuss everything with me, even had a good chat with the sales guy on the morning I picked it up. All good, thank you for your honest and quick service.

Purchased a Audi SQ5 3 weeks ago and within the first 21 days the car broke down and wouldn’t drive and was in limp mode (I paid £27000 for this car.... just to bare in mind) when I reported the issue to the garage, the first response was “ohhh your the guy who didn’t purchase the extra cover with the warranty” didn’t think I would need it to be honest due to spending that much money on such a low mileage car, also didn’t really think that was the most professional response I was hoping for after spending a lot of money, garage made me feel like it was my fault from the way they spoke to me. I have incurred costs of £1100 from the vehicle breaking down..... they wouldn’t come pick the car up - £200 for car delivery / car rental as they was no offer of courtesy car - £380 / change of number plates - £90 / then when the car went back I received an email stating I owe the garage £491 for me using the car for the past 3 weeks ??? Never heard anything like this before and also next time I purchase a car I’m guessing it’s just meant to be parked up in the drive and don’t use it? What a load of crap.... worse car buying experience I have ever witnessed. I also work in sales myself for a national company, let me tell you if I spoke to customers or dealt with enquiry’s like this garage does.... we would be out of business. Shambles of a service! Please make sure you read into this garage before you buy. On a positive note the initial buying experience ran smoothly, until the car broke down within the first 3 week, then the cracks started to show. No compensation at all throughout the whole process - now had a full refund but £1100 down from this horrible car buying experience. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Bought a car from this company in June. Sam, the sales guy was great and i loved the car but having it less than 2 months the coil spring and suspension has broken. I was sold a premium 2 year warranty for 500 quid that's not worth the paper it's written on. After making a claim I was told they would only pay for one part of it and i had the remaining 291 to pay myself as its not covered. I went back to the garage and asked if they could help as I had only had the car about 6 weeks to be told I would have to pay. Cannot believe after having the car for such a short time, that they are unwilling to pay for this to be fixed. In short, I won't be using them again and don't bother wasting 500 quid on the 2 year warranty.

I purchased my Ford Kuga from this garage at top price for year . The salesman are lovely when they are trying to make a sale and i took the salesman to his word and never doughted it. Ok i had to pay a mandorty fee for a service , platium valet, etc which i thought i not mind that as the car im not having nothing to do when i get it. I collected the car as arranged the transfer was great but when i returned home i started to get suspicious when i started to look inside the car with my wife. The car had never been valeted inside or out under the engine bay was filthy with grim and dirt. I looked at the service book and noticed that it only had a oil change not a full service which i believed to what i was payng this mandotry fee for. I phoned the salesman next morning to tell him my observations and feelings which he admitted to me the car was never valeted and offered me to bring the car back for a valet at my expence in fuel and travel and tyne tunnel fees. i told him im going to get a local firm to do it which i know will be done correctly. Second i got onto him about the the service and just a oil change has been recorded as done and not a full filter change. He replied it is in the small print in the policy that we only do a oil change so i left that as i never read the full policy as when i was buying the car i had great repect for the salesman and thought he was a man of his word i was wrong. So i got the car valeted myself and took the car into my local garage i use for all my repairs and services which i have trusted for over 15 years service to me. I had travelled from the redgatelodge garage to my home and a little travel for myself a total of 90 miles since collecting the car from redgatelodge to getting it fully serviced from local sevice garage. My local serve garage showed me the oil when it was removed as i was present when getting serviced and they informed me that the oil seemed to have done alot more than 90 miles since last service recorded and the oil filter which was time consuming removing the old one was filthy and looked old. There was also the engine undertray cover was missing . I was right to dought the work that had been stated to be done and was pleased and gave me peace of mind now the car has had a full service. There was another issue i had aswell what raised flags to me on the workmanship of replacing the rear tailgate seal as it was fitted incorrectly and had mastic around my boot area lining were they had been fitting the new one. Same my local garage correctly put the seal right and my valeter removed all the finger marks of mastic on my lining in the boot area. All i can say is ive read reviews on here and wish i had looked at these first before buying. I know this garage will try and spin this review to there benifit but i have told the truth and just to let other buyers know what happened to me.

Absolutely disgusting customer service by these cowboys who deceive vulnerable disabled veterans, they’ve denied my basic consumer rights on numerous occasions after having my car repaired and painted by their so called professional repair centre, redgate lodge bodyshop is the worst repair centre I’ve ever seen in my life the amount of school boy errors from painting my car badly is beyond a joke In the process of them trying to repair my car on the three times they’ve had it in for repairs, only to leave it with £3,500 pounds worth of damage after they bodged the repairs hoping they could blag a vulnerable disabled customer into believing that the 40 defects are acceptable and that the wrong colour match is also acceptable, I also have to mention that all the repairs were agreed to be rectified professionally by the managing director on the fourth visit to the repair centre only have the repairs denied because the bodyshop manager because he didn’t want to buy any more paint to do the whole job again, also denying my basic consumer rights as a customer Avoid this place like the plague they will not only rip you off any way they possibly can they will also lie straight to your face and blag you into believing the standard of work is acceptable, I would strongly recommend using a company to carry out an independent inspection on any goods or services you purchase from this so called professional repair centre and car motor traders, I would definitely recommend having an inspection carried out before you buy a car from here after the terrible repairs I’ve received from the repair centre, I would not trust these con men one bit Rip off Britain redgate lodge should hang their heads in shame taking advantage of a disabled veteran My car is not only the wrong colour match it also has 40 defects And faults in the terrible standard of paintwork on my car, £3,500 pounds worth damage caused while they had it in for repairs Avoid this place like the plague as they are now refusing to reply to the several emails I’ve left the managing director regarding my complaint

Dont buy a car from these guys is all I can advise anybody. There speciality seems to be cars which look good and, on the 0.00001 mile test drive they allow you to do, seem to be working ok. But beneath the surface they are most likely on their last legs. Issues I’ve had include: Cruise Control failure warning coming on every 5 minutes. Been in 3 times to resolve, each time they say its fixed, but it isn’t. Clearly they dont have the skills or expertise to remedy the issue. All they do is clear the error code. I have a suspicion this has always been here but they managed to keep the error code cleared enough for it to not ping up on the massive test drive they give you. Windscreen washers have decided they only want to squirt a tiny bit of water and wont stream. Audio controls on the steering wheel work when they feel like it. Had a bald tyre on it (my bad for not kicking it enough). I noticed when i was on the forecourt the other week though that if you wander around you’ll see quite a few cars with at least one bald tyre on. Passenger side door speaker has come loose. The water drainage system was blocked and flooded the rear passenger well. Promised it had a full service history. Have asked for proof several times but i get the classic salesman excuse of; “its all electronic these days and difficult to get hold of, but i’ll see what i can do”, the equivalent of; “my dog ate it”. Needs topping up with 1 litre of oil every 1200 miles. This is apparently standard practice with this car according to various BMW forums ive read, but it would have been nice to have been informed about that prior to buying it. The warranty is useful only as an alternative to puppy pads. On the whole...terrible experience. And their after-sales service consists only of being confrontational and casting blame on the customer, rather than owning up to the fact they’ve sold you a pile of manure. Don’t be conned by the positive comments on their Facebook page. Dig deeper and trawl through the history. You’ll see a pattern of poor experiences which are aggressively responded to. Avoid, avoid, avoid
