We recently worked with Allica to navigate funding requirements for our business. Allica were lightening fast, knowledgeable and above all else, had the right personal touch to be able to successfully complete funding and the subsequent deal. Andy Castle in particular has been excellent throughout, from gaining an understanding of our business model through to the admin and updating. It was a great experience all around joining Allica, firstly through asset finance, now business banking, for all four of my companies. Personal service, online systems and great interest rates on savings are, quite simple you might say, yet most high street banks cannot compete. Everything I was told would happen did happen; Chris Webster has been and is a pleasure to deal with; it was easier moving 4 companies to Allica than even contacting my previous bank.

Charlotte made the experience smooth and easy to understand. Allica have been a very easy to use banking platform and have squashed any worries I've had along the way. I recommend them to anyone wanting to set up a personal or business savings account. Charlotte has been my relationship manager and has made sure I fully understand and am comfortable with each process before going forwards.

I opened an Allica Bank account 2 months ago, and have had a mixed experiences, hence the 3 stars. Pros Exceptional interest rates on credit balances in savings pots No fees or charges Customer service answer the phone promptly Easy user interface for statements, payments, etc My dedicated account manager is very good Cons Their system was down for a full day and I could not log in to make payments (they did apologise for this) I recommended to a client (I am an accountant) and her account opening process has proven very laborious, taking over 3 weeks so far Not all account managers are good and have to be progress chased In conclusion, they are very promising and a good addition to the banking sector. It's refreshing to have such high interest rates on credit balances, with no fees or charges. But I echo some of the comments here, in that I think they have grown a bit too quickly, and perhaps the software and procedures are not quite up to speed yet. If their aim is to become 'Britain's most recommended business bank', they need to treasure those recommendations, and not ignore them or treat them with indifference. EDIT 1 October 2024.
