Citrus travel gave an absolutely 1st class service to help us book a holiday to Ischia. At the time, we were trying to reinvest money for a cancelled holiday with another company, but they were unable to meet our needs. As soon as we put the request to Citrus to see whether they could provide us with a deal, they couldn’t have done more to make the arrangements. We would definitely recommend them to others.

What a shame this company are now getting such bad reviews. We have had holidays with them in the past and they were the holidays of dreams, but now like everyone else we are still awaiting a refund for a holiday we couldn’t go on. We were originally booked to go to India in March 2020, and then postponed it until January 2021. Have repeatedly asked for a refund ever since and always been told we will pay but your details are with our Finance department and it’s taking time. They promised end of March and then more recently 2 weeks (that’s was 6 weeks ago). I think the only way we are going to get our money back is to write into Watchdog or take them to court. I really feel in the long term this company are doing themselves no favours, as people will not book with them, which really is sad as like I say in the past we have had some fantastic holidays with them.

This company is truly awful to deal with! Booked a holiday to Costa Rica for March 2020. WE had to cancel the holiday the day before we were to travel as the US banned flights from the UK; this despite emailing and calling Citrus for guidance. We heard nothing. They refused to refund us but allowed us to re-book for December 2020. We then had to tell them to cancel the holiday as travel was illegal. Instead of refunding us within 14 days, as per our consumer rights, we were told we would have to wait 3 months. We reluctantly agreed to this and then listened to a pack of lies from staff as to when the money would be paid. After getting our MP to write to them and threatening them with legal action they finally paid up. It seems lots of Trustpilot members have had the same experience.

I am disgusted with this company. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! I am due a refund a nearly £2,000 and, despite having it in writing from them that they are going to issue me one.. nothing. My bank are now trying to assist me but, they are fighting the chargeback using "force majeure" as the reason. Absolutely appalling!

Paid in Nov. 2019 a trip to Central Europe scheduled for March 2020. We had to cancel due to covid restrictions and since then, Citrus kept promising a refund. Coincidentally one year later they are MIA. These guys are liars and dishonest. Stay away from that company.

I live in Alberta-Canada. Booked East Europe Trip for Mar 2020 - paid Citrus Holidays in Sept 2019 in full CAD$4000. COVID hit and trip cancelled. Like others, was promised refund multiple times. No Refund ever. Now, John and Solowyn have stopped responding to my emails. Should we all hire a lawyer and take a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT against Citrus holidays. That will help all of us get back our money. coz this company is in UK.

We booked a holiday in 2019 on a Gullet in Turkey. It was delayed and then cancelled. We like many have received countless assurances of a refund which have been empty words. If you have friends booking holidays in the coming months alert them to the very poor record on refunds of this company. At a time when holidays overseas are beginning to be booked it is important that everyone realises that Citrus Holidays are not to be trusted when things go wrong. John Coyne

We booked at trip with Citrus Holidays (directed to them by Sherman Travel) Feb 2020 and paid in full. We requested a refund in March of 2020 when Greece shut down due to Covid; the contract stated we would get a refund. Many emails later they confirmed that we would be getting our refund directly to our checking account ( even though we paid with a credit card) within the week. This was June of 2020. I email them weekly, then monthly, the answer is always the same: We are in queue. It has become clear that we have lost thousands of dollars and enriched the bottom line of Citrus Holidays since it is now May of 2021. My advice: do not be swayed by the few good reviews unless you are will to risk losing thousands of dollars! The same goes for Sherman Travel that did not even return my calls or email. wen

I booked my trip to Greece 7 months ago in October. Due to COVID-19, the booking was not complete because Greece opened up for US tourists in April. My booking is now complete, but my issue is that I had difficult time reaching out to the agent in charge of my booking to finalize it. I think that the service need to improve in the area of communication with the client to ensure a smoother experience for the clients. This will definitely help make Citrus Holidays more successful and recommended to others by its current clients. Thanks. Morad Sedrak

Don’t believe recent reviews, clearly Citrus paid stooges. They have lied and lied regarding our cancelled holidays with them to India. And today, I’ve had to make a small claim court application for the £4700 they owe me. They sell good holidays and sell them well. Any problems and they become very accomplished liars. Suggest you avoid them.

We had our trip to galapagos fully paid for May 2020 departure. Even paid extra to extend the trip before and after. Approximately 4200$ for each of us. Citrus did not call to tell us the trip was cancelled but with covid we called them to find out what was happening and were told trip was cancelled but they would not give us a refund. We had to rebook and travel within a year. We were excited to still travel to galapagos so this was not a big issue. Now, a year later with no communication, we have emailed and phoned to find out what is happening and the phone number is out of service and emails are not being returned. I have now been diagnosed with terminal cancer so want a refund to leave for my family as I cannot travel.

Am delighted with Citrus holidays As we have had the worst year and half with COVID 19 our last two holidays have had to be postponed but Citrus holidays have honoured our holiday at no extra price to have it in 2022 when the world is a safer place for everyone Thankyou Citrus Elizabeth Walker

I wish I could give a zero rating but one star is the lowest. I have been promised a refund for a trip I was to take to Italy in May of 2020. I've had numerous conversations with staff to be promised a refund. Then the person doesn't return my emails and I have received no refund. The phone number for Citrus Holidays in Toronto is now not assigned so that's not hopeful. Don't book with these people. Run!!!!
