United Kingdom | 01 April 2020Re-Arranged our trip until next year at the same time. Good service didn’t expect the extra expense of it I must say.

United Kingdom | 01 April 2020We had a flawless holiday with Citrus in central India with excellent hotels, drivers and guides. All of the Passage to India staff inspired confidence in their knowledge and ability to chaperone us around. We combined this tour with southern India heritage and beaches and sadly this had to be curtailed by a complete week. Our driver was excellent as were the hotels and guides. Our return flight was arranged for us bringing it forward by a week. The reason for this not being 5star rating is that Citrus are failing to communicate with us as to why there isn't a refund for us for the unused week of tour. The only reason given without explanation is that we were repatriated. This was on a scheduled flight which to all intense and purposes we paid for in the original booking. E mails are going unanswered. Sadly Citrus is the weak link in this holiday

Canada | 27 March 2020We had booked this tour last year, and it came just during the upswing in the covid19 scare. Actually everything worked out OK more or less so I can say we are satisfied overall. All the airport transfers and tours worked out in the 3 centres (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bali) - but the times were sometimes off by an hour or so. They had different times than those on the Citrus documentation. Best for the traveller to call ahead to the tour/transfer agent to confirm the pickup time. Otherwise we were happy with the city tours in KL and Singapore and the transfers - courteous private drivers and clean air conditioned SUV cars. Flights were through Korea, so I expected some problems given covid19. There were two flight changes, one on the outbound and one return. On the outbound we had to overnight at Incheon at our expense because of a cancelled flight, but I have asked for compensation from Korean Airlines. We also lost an extra night we paid for in Kuala Lumpur without refund (Citrus did not appear to want to chase after refunds for us). Citrus did from time to time send out proposed alternative flights, which we appreciated but did not use. For the return, I went directly to the Korean Airlines customer service in Incheon on our outbound leg to get an alternative return flight to replace the cancelled one, and finally managed to do so with difficulty. One agent did not want to do anything, so I went back and got another more accommodating agent to do it (booked the return with Delta through Detroit and there was no health screening there!). Kuala Lumpur airport is modern but rather disorganized - had to schlep over to terminal 1 for Jetstar to Singapore - the driver took us to terminal 2 by mistake. Given the ominous warnings about quarantine of foreigners in Singapore I was on the point of bypassing it and buying a ticket directly to Bali and resuming the rest of the trip there, but we decided to chance the Singapore part and it worked out. Enjoyed the tour to Sentosa - a sort of big "theme park" on an island - an advantage is that there were no Chinese tourists so it was not crowded. Had no airport or health screening problems in Bali with transfers (apart from wrecked suitcases). The hotel in Bali - Tijili Seminyak - it was "quirky" as the reviews say - we probably could have done better. The staff was friendly, the breakfast and room OK, the pool area disappointing - the beanbag chairs are more a novelty than practical, and the poolside couches needed a good scrub and cleaning. Regular loungers would have been better rather than beanbags. But it was OK to just chill out (its really hot in Bali) and the wifi was good. The beach area of Seminyak was a disappointment - expecting a pleasant beachside promenade, but it was rather dirty and full of motos and restaurant service vehicles. We enjoyed the Gado-Gado restaurant on the beach. Not really into a lot of beer and disco at the other places. Seminyak downtown walking around from the hotel - well its busy, hot, narrow sidewalks and streets, full of boutiques, restaurants, and massage parlours. Fun to walk around for a few days, but it gets to be all the same after a while. There are usually lots of touts and vendors stopping and bugging you, but just take it all with good humour. Took the metered Bluebird taxis once in a while, quite cheap. You need to get out of there after a while and go to Ubud and Kintimani highlands area - more pleasant.

United Kingdom | 26 March 2020Good communication and updates generally around my proposed holiday in the difficult circumstances caused by covid 19, then Anisha was very helpful in rearranging it.

United Kingdom | 26 March 2020Dreadful company. Due to coronavirus our holiday was cancelled and the alternative options offered by Citrus incurred more cost. Our holiday cost £374, only offering £103 refund. Charging us £261 cancellation fee!! Taking this matter further. Avoid this company. Very poor customer service with no consideration for customers. Will be reporting and taking this matter further.

United Kingdom | 23 March 2020We went to southern India with Citrus holidays at the beginning of February and had an amazing time. When travel starts again, I would recommend that people try this way of seeing India if they are happy to travel around. We had a lovely driver called Kannan who drove us everywhere. His knowledge was amazing and he couldn't have been more helpful. The hotels were lovely especially Wayanad up in the forest, also the last hotel where we rested after what was quite a full on 10-11 days of travel. I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants to get a taste of India.

United Kingdom | 21 March 2020Postponed my holiday with minimal extra cost.

United Kingdom | 20 March 2020Due to the recent travel issues I have had two trips cancelled on me booked with Citrus. Communication and trying to get my refund is a nightmare. When things get back to normal I will never book anything with this company and advise you to do the same - avoid. At times like these the reputable firms will rise to the top - unlike citrus.

United Kingdom | 20 March 2020We have just returned from the Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam trip. The first part of our holiday was brilliant and I can’t fault Citrus for that however on arrival in Cambodia we were greeted by the Citrus Rep at our hotel to be told that due to COVID-19 the Vietnamese Govt had changed their visa requirements & there was uncertainty about whether we would be able to enter the country and that as our planned land border crossing was no longer possible we would now have to pay for flights....and this is where it all unravelled as far as Citrus is concerned. They were absolutely useless providing no guidance whatsoever. The poor Rep didn’t know what was going on and Citrus made no direct contact with us about the situation. My emails back to the company were met with unclear responses and the attitude of ‘just get on with it’. There was no apparent appreciation of the seriousness of the situation we were in considering the whole COVID-19 nightmare. In the end I requested they bring our return flight to UK forward and I had to agree to this as ‘full & final settlement’ meaning I can’t now claim for the half of my holiday I had to miss. Whilst I am eternally grateful that Citrus rearranged our return flights & we got home safe & sound I do feel incredibly let down by their lack of support & direction when things went wrong leaving us abandoned to sort things ourselves and spoiling what was a long saved for and much anticipated holiday of a life time. For this reason I will not book with Citrus again and would not recommend them as a travel company.

United Kingdom | 20 March 2020Albeit a wonderful holiday, the service from citrus leading up to it was pretty appalling. Very quick to take the cash, very slow and difficult to try and amend anything. Our requests were ignored, we were constantly chasing for the correct ticketing and information. Right up to the last couple of days we still had not received our tickets or vouchers. However, their saving grace was a wonder chap called Jim that managed to save the day and email the relevant information across. Luckily for us, he was the only competent person there and answered the phone and dealt with the situation with professionalism and courtesy. I won't be booking with them again, as I doubt I would be so lucky twice.

United Kingdom | 19 March 2020Let down by Citrus who were left wanting when we needed support. Purchased a package holiday and when coronavirus hit were left without support. In the end had to pay for additional flights home. Will look to recover extra costs and potentially go to court. Never use tnis company again.

United Kingdom | 19 March 2020I thought India was an excellent experience the only negative criticism is when on a sightseeing trip we are often taken to expensive shops , jewellers , ceramics , clothes , outlets & then felt uncomfortable and would have to buy something we don’t want or need. I didn’t appreciate that aspect of the trip but the hotels , drivers & all citrus staff were 1st class .

United Kingdom | 19 March 2020Performed well under very difficult circumstances. Planned visit to Kerala in SW India was stopped in its tracks when Indian Govt suspended all Visas 13 days prior to depart due to the damn Virus. We now have a rearranged visit for November - provided the Virus has abated sufficiently to allow us to travel and provided we are still living!

United Kingdom | 18 March 2020We've used Citrus Holidays before, had a great time and had no hesitation in booking a fortnight in Sri Lanka with them. We were due to fly on Monday 23rd March, but a week before the Sri Lankan government blocked all entry for UK residents and the Foreign Office advised against visiting. I talked with Rose this morning and she's been able to reschedule our holiday with no changes to the 4th October - and with no extra costs!! Frankly, given the pressure everyone at Citrus must be under, I think this is quite amazing. Brilliantly professional, amazingly fast response and a great solution organised. I cannot think that anyone could have done better. Totally recommend Citrus.

United Kingdom | 15 March 2020Have just returned from a holiday in India, arranged by Citrus travel. Had a wonderful time, Hotels were excellent, especially the Lakend hotel with it's stunning lake views. And also the Puritan Qila hotel in Rathambore, A brand new hotel where tha staff could not have been more attentive 10/10. All the guides were top notch with outstanding knowledge of the history of the various places I visited, they were all excellent photographers as well !! A special mention goes to Shahul the tour rep in India, very helpful when needing to change my hotel, when a suspected case of covid19 was reported at my intended hotel. He arranged a change within the hour. Finally my driver for ten days, Kanhaiyalal, brilliant. I'm normally a very nervous passenger, but I felt relaxed at all times on the absolute crazy roads in India. I hope these comments will be passed onto the person's mentioned. One small complaint. The taxi from Goa to the airport, was very old and showed the signs of age. In itself not much of a problem. But no air conditioning was. In 34° of heat on plastic seats I arrived at the airport with a soaking wet shirt. Perhaps this is something you could look into. Regards Max Schlaepfer.

United Kingdom | 13 March 2020I am just back from a marvellous tour of southern India arranged by Citrus Holidays. I was attracted to their tours by their very reasonable prices and by their moderate single supplement compared with other tour operators. The prices caused me to be rather suspicious at first but my fears were allayed by my initial phone contact where all the details of the itinerary and hotels were provided before I committed to booking. My flights to India from Manchester were arranged for me at a very good price and the whole holiday has been excellent value for money. The fact that all the accommodation was half board is another factor in making the trip very economical. There were hardly any additional expenses apart from tips and the odd snack at lunchtime. I was keen to see a little bit more of southern India than offered by the Kerala only holidays and this holiday really delivered, adding stops in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu (Bengalore, Mysore and Ooty). All the hotels were of a very good if not excellent standard. For me Wayanad Wild stood out, although the heritage cottages at Poovar with their open air bathrooms and private verandahs were also a delightful experience. The Alleppey houseboat was another highlight, providing a wonderfully peaceful environment in which to relax. The food provided in the package was always copious, varied and tasty. Much of the tour hinged on the services of our driver, the excellent Abi (Abhilash Johny). From the moment he met me at the airport I felt confident that I was in good hands. There was only one other person on the tour with me and we shared Abi’s car and his company from Bangalore to Poovar. He is a delightful person, very reliable and with a good sense of humour, and his presence added a lot to our enjoyment of the holiday. He was always ready to answer our questions and explain things to us as well as being ready to stop at any moment for photos, loo breaks and drinks and snacks. For much of our time he also acted as our guide, although specialist guides were provided for the major cultural and historical attractions as well as for the wildlife activities. But first and foremost he is an excellent driver and I always felt completely safe, despite the antics of other road users. Right at the end of the holiday we were affected by the coronavirus crisis as the local authorities placed restrictions on the movement of all foreigners. Fortunately by this stage we were at Poovar, and although we were unable to take the boat over to the beach or a tuk tuk into town it is hard to imagine a better place to be “held captive”. Of course this situation was completely beyond Citrus’ control. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other travellers and am looking forward to trying some of their other tours soon.
