United Kingdom | 04 March 2025I came for an eye checkup after LASIK. I was an hour early but Niyara fit me into the schedule anyway. I'm usually quite bad with conversations but she was very friendly and easy to talk to, and helpfully explained what each of the machines do.

United Kingdom | 04 March 2025Firstly, top marks for Farjana, the practitioner I have been dealing with, both at Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. Her calm, professional and patient manner is exceptional However, the appointment system has been chaotic to put it mildly. At the end of my appointment at Bury (Friday 07 February 2025) I was advised to make a further follow up appointment at Cambridge because `Cambridge had the necessary scanning equipment. The receptionist at Bury was unable to make the appointment for me there and then due to connectivity inadequacies in her computer system and she suggested I rang Cambridge to make the appointment myself. I duly made that appointment by phone and was given 25th February at 10am. I travelled the 40-mile distance from my home, East of Bury, to Cambridge where I was told on arrival that they had no record of an appointment and were unable to give any explanation as to why. I contacted Optical Express head office who were able to make an appointment for the following day. (Another 80-mile round trip). So, all in all not the best experience and I’m left wondering if Optical Express would be my recommendation to anyone else needing the attention of an Optometrist.

United Kingdom | 02 March 2025I came to oe for my eye exam in st Enoch centre. Simran done my first tests, who made me feel so comfortable and welcome she was fabulous. I then was took into the eye exam room by Mahteb who was soooo lovely and comforting also. I was then took back out to have a look at glasses, which Alisha then helped me with. Alisha was so so lovely and really took her time with me and allowed me too really have a look and try on each pair I wanted too. Overall the experience was 10/10, all of the ladies were such a joy and I’m so glad this is where I choose to come.

United Kingdom | 02 March 2025When I booked my precedure I was booked in with the consultant for a consent conversation. This was to happen the next day as my precedure was booked for the weekend. The consultant booked the phone call on the wrong day (the date of the consultation rather then the next day) so i waited all day for a call that never happened and had to call customer services to get rearrange. When I went for the consultation I was told I would be ok to work in 48 hours from the precedure as I let them know I was starting a new job on the Monday. When I went in to have the precedure I was told by the nurse that I might not be able to work a full day on the Monday. I wish this was information given at the consultation. The care I got on the day of the precedure from the surgeon and nurse, I cannot fault and I was happy with the efficient service I got on the day. After the preceedure I was sent a text with information about who to call if there was any problems. Several hours after the precedure one of my eyes was constantly watering and painful to open. I tried to call the out of hours consultant on the number given on that text and the number was inactive. I had to call customer services for the correct number - not what you want after surgery! I had been booked in for an in person checkup the next day at white city whilst I was at the initial consultation. The email I recieved after surgery said I had a telephone consultation!!! I had to then ring customer services again for them to book an in person check up. Update: just attended check up and the reason one of my eyes was painful was as the flap is not sitting flat. I now need to attend an appointment on Wednesday (why could someone not attend to me on this appointment?) I've was told I have been booked in for an appointment on Wednesday morning and I should recieve an email confirmation - I'm yet to recieve this confirmation. I paid just under £5000 cash for this precedure and I do not expect to have to chaise in order to get the correct care! Update: was called into Harley street and seen by a very nice surgeon who explained the options and rectified the issue. I felt very looked after and I was given his number in case of further issues. Will be going back to see the same surgeon later in the week.

United Kingdom | 02 March 2025Went to have laser eye surgery at Optical Express Newcastle. I was greeted at reception by Jan who made me a lovely coffee and made me feel comfortable. The procedure itself was quick and pain free and the difference in my eyesight is incredible. I now have better than 20/20 vision and wish I had the procedure done years ago.

The initial contact was Jenny who was so professional and very helpful and her manner eased my anxiety until I saw the optometrist Chliona. Again she was so lovely and gave my eyes a great examination and identified the problem. Giving me excellent advice and means to eliminate the problem Many thanks to you both Kate
