All staff were very professional and very polite. Very happy with the service and very nice Receptionion area, very clean:)

Everyone was extremely professional and friendly, big shout out to Amina, walked me through the whole process seamlessly! They scanned my eyes thoroughly with all the latest hi tech equipment followed by a full examination by an Optician. Highly recommend!

Be under no illusions Optical Express and the Optical Express Group are a totally money oriented business there is very little sway in their terms and conditions which they will baffle you with in their phone calls, it's a hard sell company that I would liken to the double glazing industry. Early on 1-1-25 they made an appointment for me on the 10-1-25 for a consultation, they sent me Ts&Cs later that day on email. On the 2nd I asked if I could cancel the appointment due to unforeseen circumstances(wife's hospital appointment which I would need to drive her to). They told me that as it was within 14 days of the appoinment it would incurr a £50 cancellation fee, yes £50. Apart from the extortionate £50 fee my argument is that how can they have a 14 day deadline when the appoinment was made within 9 days and only send the terms and conditions out after they take the credit card details. I asked for it to be escalated but I get the same script from 3 different people, it's in our Terms and Conditions. The contact number is for 'customer care', it should be changed to - Customers?.....we don't care. I wish I'd read the reviews on here about the Optical Express Group. Still waiting for a responce which apparently could be 23 days. 3 days for them to review it then a further 20 days for them to respond which clearly takes us way past the appoinment date. This is the story so far we'll see what the outcome is.

Being frank it was a pleasure to have my eyesight tested by these gentlemen because their kind attitude to me was excellent.. far better than one normally experiences in the UK. United Kingdom | 30 December 2024If your surgery goes as planned, I'm sure there will be no issues. However, be careful of their suspect terms and conditions, questionable hard sales tactics, and cut-dead approach if things go wrong. They claim to offer comprehensive aftercare. My eyesight is worse in my left eye than before the surgery. They claim this is a risk of the procedure and will not continue with treatment or appointments after the three months are over without an additional £100 per appointment fee. There is no intention of fixing the issues they have caused. I now have no glasses that fit my eye prescription and have been left in a mess. After a lengthy complaint procedure they have offered me 2 free appointments without addressing the dodgy hard sales tactics reiterating it is in the terms and conditions. I will be going onto the General Optical Council (GOC) or seeking legal advice to address the issues. Do not trust these people.

United Kingdom | 29 December 2024Saw an advert with Optical Express for a free consultation regarding my eyes (cataract) I sent details and they called me within minutes very quick service. Then I spoke to an adviser who after a short while said they need my credit card details. I asked why if consultation is free. His reply “we take a charge if you don’t turn up” my reply was “ it’s for my benefit so I will turn up. The reply from adviser if no card details we cannot book an appointment. I even said I will happily pay for an appointment but again he stated no card details we can’t book you in. Optical Express you lost one genuine customer. Don’t say it’s free then demand credit card details

United Kingdom | 29 December 2024Chester branch. My son went for a consultation. Had all the tests but unfortunately he wasn't a candidate for the surgery. Disappointing for him but at least they are an honest company. My friend had hers done about a month ago and is totally satisfied with her surgery. She can see now. Only one small problem, it was hard to find the place. Couldn't go in the car. Best parking car somewhere then walking.

United Kingdom | 29 December 2024I’ll keep this brief, as Optical Express (OE) has all my details and knows about the failures I’ve faced. First, I want to emphasize that the main optometrist I've worked with, we'll call her H.S, is excellent and a rare bright spot in an otherwise poor experience. After issues in Peterborough, wasted time in Milton Keynes (MK) for a surgery that never happened, and an unpleasant follow-up appointment, I finally had my Lens Replacement surgery on December 13, 2024, at MK. The procedure went well, and the staff there were fantastic. However, soon after, I started experiencing pressure in my eye. I tried calling MK but couldn’t get through, so I was redirected to their head office (HO), I was told an optometrist would call me. I thought the call would be from H.S, as it was noted in my file that she's the only one to deal with my enquiries. But I was contacted by a different optometrist who explained the sensation was natural and confirmed my follow-up call with H.S was still scheduled for the next day. The next day, after waiting an hour after my scheduled call time, I called to find out my appointment with H.S had been cancelled without my knowledge. This was frustrating, especially after rearranging my schedule for it. Thankfully, H.S stayed late to speak with me, and I greatly appreciate her effort. Fast forward to today: I called yesterday to confirm which drops I should be using, but the staff didn’t know and promised someone from MK would call me back. It’s been two full working days, and I’m still waiting. Additionally, I was told on December 14th to call back today (the 28th) to book my 1-month post-op appointment, but I couldn’t reach anyone at MK. I was then directed to HO and requested a slot on the 18th of Jan when I was told no weekend appointments are available in mid-to-late January. I was advised to call again on January 17th, the day before, to try and secure an appointment. Given that I’ve already used up significant PTO to visit their branches and had to travel over 80 miles (round trip) each time and you now want me to keep my Saturdays free on the off chance you'll have a spot free? I find this incredibly frustrating. I haven’t detailed all the other issues I’ve faced with OE, but if necessary, I’ll escalate this with V12 or take further action. I can’t recommend your company in good conscience. I’m shocked at how disorganized your staff is, with numerous errors in appointment scheduling, cancellations, and misinformation. Also, I never heard back from your complaints department (Reference 63184437) after I replied to their email on November 4th—almost two months ago. If someone from your senior team would like to discuss this, I’m open to a conversation.

I would highly recommended having this miracle lens replacement procedure done. I now have 20/20 vision, no longer need to wear reading, distance glasses or contact lenses. It is life changing, totally life changing... From the first call and consultation to the finale discharge meeting I was totally impressed with the staff at Optical Express Liverpool. Lela Thompson the manager answered all my questions and helped take away the anxiety and nervousness around having the procedure done. She was super patient with me and this really helped. It’s a big decision/commitment and I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. The surgeon (Mr, Kiss) who performed my procedure was amazing, so calm and reassuring. Don’t put off having this done, I wish I had done it years ago.

United Kingdom | 27 December 2024Can’t believe for a procedure which they are gonna make thousands of pounds, they choose to loose a customer by charging £50 for change of appointment date, not for the actual surgery but for initial exam. Worse is the guy who booked the appt for me mentioned otherwise, then they say its in the “ terms and conditions” . A lesson learnt. I called about “ 10 days” before and they still want to charge, not the cancellation fees but even for the change of date. They used hundreds of pounds to acquire customers, for a procedure which they are gonna make thousands of pounds, they choose to make £50.
